Just as with volume I, this is a collection of psych reviews and evidence evaluation for a number of well known serial killers. This is morbid reading but still interesting particularly for a suspense writer.
This book was mainly about unsolved serial killer cases. The cold stats about how many unsolved murders there are in the world is chilling. The reasons why are varied from poor investigations to in fighting in the police departments. Yes I do agree with the point not to jump that a murder was done by a serial killer until the case is thoroughly investigated. It also touches on fault that media plays in causing cases to go cold. While freedom of press is admirable, there should be a limit so cases are not scandalized just to sell papers or increase ratings. I see no reason why media can not work with police responsibly in these cases.
Very basic information and a very sketchy book. None of the details are explored of any of the crimes covered. This book is a mere skeleton of a few facts that a 14 year old could write, based on their little knowledge of the crimes committed. Very poor book imo.
The only thing I could get from this second book about serial killers is, you have a good chance of getting away with murder. I can't in good conscience recommend this book.
I don't know what set me in the mood to read about serial killers tonight, but something did and this book fit my feeling well.
It provided in depth telling of cold cases, and it told it all in an interesting way. I throughly enjoyed picking this book up. It was a good, informative way to spend an hour.
Also, who doesn't love a good serial killer story on a Saturday evening?
