I Stole Her Innocence And Then She Vanished, So Everyone Blamed Me. Now I've Been Given Chance To Save Her... Hopefully It's Not Too Late!

Dylan

We had the time of our lives and I finally stole her innocence. Then someone stole her. Now I’m stuck in the hot seat, being grilled under the bright lights. Sitting here, all I can think about is going out there and finding her. At this point, however, it’s going to take a miracle just to stay out of jail. Unfortunately, I’m not the type who attracts miracles or even luck for that matter.

Carson

Olivia Bennett is the only woman I’ve ever loved, but I lost her after choosing the Marines instead of college. Now her daughter is missing and the blame has been pinned on my only nephew. With twenty years of military and DEA experience, I know I can hunt down the bastard who took her and bring her back alive. If I succeed, it will heal some old wounds with my family and give me another shot at winning back the woman of my dreams.

Summer

I return to consciousness being face down on a stinky piece of cheap, prickly carpet. My head is pounding. I can’t open my eyes. I try to move my arms, then my legs, but both are tightly bound. All I hear is the sound of tires humming against the pavement. I try to scream, but my lips are pressed so tightly together that I can barely muster a moan. My mind goes blank as I scramble to think of any way of improving my odds. I have no idea where I am, where I’m headed, who has taken me or why? My heart races out of control as tears soak the blindfold that relentlessly keeps me in the dark. I find myself spiraling into utter despair.

**Lost Summer is a full-length (92,000 words) stand alone Romantic Suspense with No Rape Scenes, No Cheating and No Cliffhanger. If you like a fast-paced book that you can’t put down, you will love this one!

Lost on me...The first pitch is a fastball that slowly introduces the story of Summer, Dylan, Olivia, Ryan and Carson. The second pitch is a slow ball that goes through five innings of drawn out suspense as to Summer's whereabouts, who took her and why. The slider comes in the eighth inning with the bases loaded when Summer is rescued and things are not quite what they seem. The curveball starts the ninth inning and winds up instead of winding down as this story takes a 180 degree turn with one more unnecessary plot twist.

The story was unfocused on the main storyline and was overrun with too many back stories and plot twists that didn't work. The epilogue is unnecessary and adds nothing to the story.

Lost Summer doesn't work for me because I can't relate to any of the characters and it didn't hold my interest. Some aspects are totally unbelievable while some are completely believable. I was on the fence for the first fifteen chapters but by the last nineteen, there was no doubt I wasn't going to like this story or the ending.

Well, I always say, "If it has MT Stone on it, I buy it".....She's given us Max & Lara in Pure Passion, Trey & Mandy in the Power Trilogy, Raven and Gunnar in the what I have always referred to as the "Raven books", and my very, very favorite Jack Ryker and his MUCH younger Kate in the "Kate books"...And I have ALWAYS loved EVERY SINGLE ONE of those books, but there has always been one common denominator in every one of them....Steam.....There's always been lots of steam in all of these previously listed books....but like I said I ALWAYS read MT Stone's books, and that's not going to change.
When I started Lost Summer, the story, itself, (even though Dylan and Summer were WAY younger than the characters about which I usually like to read, and they were not just younger, both of them seemed and WERE so innocent in comparison to the characters in MT's other books, it almost felt like a different genre than MT's books are usually considered).....BUT, the story, itself, sucked me right in from the beginning, before I realized I hadn't read any steamy scenes....I've never read a book with this plot, suspense or conclusion before....This book absolutely held my attention, and although there were times I just KNEW what was going on, or what was going to happen, she turned a corner ...and I mean a big corner on us...and it was "I sure didn't see that coming!!!" I don't want to give away any spoilers...but I do want to say, if you want steam, it has some, but you have to read the entire book (and then some) to get it...Thankfully, the book is so good, I enjoyed it without steam all the way through it.....MT Stone...you always surprise us!!!

Honest review.

This is a stand-alone.
There maybe slight triggers to some. Kidnapping, minor forced situation (I say minor because there is NO forced penetration).
We have a twisted interwoven plot.
Each of these characters all connect in one way or another.
Summer is kidnapped. Everyone wants to find her. Her mother Olivia, her father Ryan, the boyfriend Dillon along with his Uncle.
His Uncle shows up from no where to bail Dillon from jail when he's accused of her disappearance.
We later come to find out, the uncle is in love with Olivia and feels that this is his last chance to win her back with the rescue of her only daughter.
But things don't always go as planned...
This is my first time reading this author. I came across this book from Facebook ad, and thought it sounded right up my alley. Even with the third person POV.
I really liked the plot and the pace fit perfectly to work everything together. I really didn't run across any grammatical errors which is always a huge plus when reading from a new author.
But the characters just felt stiff. Almost forced at times. What should of felt loving and hot between Dillon and Summer, just felt awkward. Almost disjointed.
As I read through the reviews after to see if anyone else felt the same, I seen this is the author's first attempt at this genre, so maybe with more time fleshing out so many characters and connections, things will hopefully look up for this author.
I would say give this book a go.
I read this with my KU.

This is an intriguing, suspenseful story about the kidnapping of a 17 year old girl and how this event affects the people who surround her. Summer is a strong, savvy and somewhat spoiled teen. Typical, right? Her poise and grace under harrowing circumstances is pretty remarkable. Dylan, her boyfriend, starts out as a person of interest. He truly loves her and willingly does what ever is necessary to find Summer and bring her home safely. Carson, Dylan's uncle, is a former Marine and a hard bitten DEA agent who steps in to help in the search for Summer. Add to that, Summer's parents whose marriage is not all it seems and a somewhat crazed kidnapper and you've got a very entertaining read full of twists and turns, suspense, family drama and more. I really liked the characters M.T. Stone has created. They are interesting and complex. The story is well written and do definitely holds your interest.

I was really excited to read this book because it seemed so different then other books but I was disappointed. I got confused on who was talking because it would randomly change throughout the chapter. You had to guess who was talking. You also don't really know anything about there relationship prior to her kidnapping. They also spend a chunk of the book apart so once again there isn't much to their relationship. I was just expecting more. The plot twist at the end was nice though.

I thought this was a good book. It is different from a lot of other books that are out there. Interesting story with a nice ending.

Not sure where or how I first became aware of this book but the cover certainly got my attention at the beginning and then I read the blurb and I had to read it. Luckily for me at the time it was a free read so I one clicked it. I had other books that I wanted to read but this one had grabbed me so I read it and I wasn't disappointed. This book was an attention grabbing fast paced rocket ride to the finish.

I'll preface my next thought with I don't normally read YA or NA a lot and this one was a NA and it showed. Some of the ways the hero and heroine thought or did things was WTH hell moments for me but as I said that was probably me since I'm considerably older than they are. Actually my kiddos are a little older than them lol. The story and writing were excellent and I'll definitely be keeping my eyes out for more stories by this author.

As I said I got this book on my own and I give it 4 stars. So if this one grabs you the way it did me go and one click It's still a bargain at $.99.

I loved the "my nights with Kate" series by this author and this was a completely different style of story. Ultimately I liked it. There is no sex so if that's what u r after this isn't it. It's basically a suspense. The story is unique/different the the usual whodunnits. Parts of the storyline seemed rushed but seems all the loose ends were ties up. Working in the medical field I was disappointed in the inaccurateness of the medical stuff but it didn't necessarily distract too much from the story. If you are a MT Stone fan she doesn't disappoint but totally different style of book.

MT Stone delivers a suspenseful book that is has its twists and turns with every page of the story. With all the characters involved in the book this a read that keeps you thinking and wanting to know what happens next. The standout lead in the story is Summer, she is a strong heroine that uses her intellect in a very bad situation. If you are looking for a book that makes you think and wondering who did it, then this is the book for you!!! Well done MT Stone!

This was...

A very suspenseful, complicated story. It kept me thinking all the way through. So much of it was working out the issues by the main characters, but it made the story good.
I hated, liked and loved people in this story.

Gripping

I really enjoyed this book! I loved the suspense of it. Even though I had a pretty good idea what was happening the twist at the end caught me off guard. I liked reading the multiple povs, it brought an added depth to the story. I will definitely read more by M.T. Stone!

Good with lots of twists

This story had so many pov, and twists you really have to pay attention so you don't get lost. The bonus epilogue doesn't work either, but it was a good story with suspense as well. I liked it

I really enjoyed the story and the twists were enjoyable. I was curious how the kidnapping would take up the entire book, there was so much more story after the actual kidnapping! A good read!

Not my cup of tea

Generally I read a novel a day. About 340 books a year sometimes more and I can count the number of titles that I can't finish on one hand every year. This unfortunately for me was one of them. I wanted to love it. It started off slow and I thought it might get better for me but about 60% marker I just couldn't bring myself to finish it. So could the ending be good? Possibly. However for me a few things warranted the decision to not finish this title.
Before I get into those these are the thing I did like about it. The development of the character Leo was close to believable and I felt myself at odds between wanting to like him and not. He was an okay villain with a little more development could have been excellent.
Overall I felt the writing was novice in nature. While there wasn't major issues with the grammar it just didn't flow like I would have liked and certain scenes felt hurried and underdeveloped.
Also I couldn't bring myself to like or attach to either her father Ryan or Dylan's uncle. The secondary storyline of Oliva and him just made me not want to follow it through to completion.

Overall I felt like this was a good start with a lot of potential to be a great read. Hope that those who read it fully got better experience overall.

Lost Summer is a very intriguing novel. M.T. Stone has changed the way the novel iw written in this one. Lost Summer is a book about a 17 (almost 18) year old girl who is kidnapped by a homeless man. Throughout the book there are twists and turns and dark paths that come to light. There are some odd coincidences that you will least expect. Does Summer live or does this wonderful author let her live to see her 18th birthday. Even thought M.T Stone wrote this differently than all the other, the book was a very great read. It's is definitely a laid back soft romantic thriller. I couldn't put it down.

Oh I loved reading this story. I held my breath while Dylan and Carson were searching for Summer. I thought for sure they would find her before she was killed, but I never thought her lungs would be attacked by parasite. There was so much going on in this story I didn't know which way it would turn. Carson being behind everything was so unexpected, I though for sure he would be shot. That was the big twist, until the finally.... he was Summer's father. Holy cow I so did not see that coming. Thank you for an awesome read!!!

Romantic suspense is a very liberal term for what this book actually was. The romance was not very well fleshed out, and what little of it was didn't really have me connecting with the characters. The multiple points of view were...not the worst, but it didn't add to the story. If anything, it made it easier to guess exactly where the story would end up (which I did, about a quarter into the book). 2 stars, because it did keep me reading until the end, however this was kind of a disappointing read.

What a nail biter.......

This is the first book I've read by this author. All I'm saying right now is wow!!!
The storyline was great. The characters well developed. The chemistry between Dylan & Summer was hot. Enjoyed all the character's POV.

This book had a whirlwind of emotions; from happiness, sadness, betrayal, angst, family and friendship. There were twists, turns, mystery... I couldn't put it down.

Highly recommend!!!

Disappointed

I feel bad for having to give this 1 star because I usually love books by this author but I don't know what happened. There were too many storylines, and jumping around. It's titled a romance but I had a hard time seeing it as anything more than a waste of time. This was just bad. M.T. Stone please go back to your original writing style and write this one off as a bad experiment

Okay. Okay. okay

The bad guy sneaker into the job. The good guy stole to show. I did not totally guess the plot, but it was close thing. And oh yeah, I got lost when they were driving, and pissed off that there just had to be some weird antisocial but cases in the rural area. Drop the stereotypes.

4 stars. Great way to start the new year. When Summer is kidnapped Dylan will do everything in Hus power to save her. This was a thrilling story with plenty of twists and turns and intrigue. It is more than just a romance story with family dynamics, loyalty, betrayal and a good crime/thriller edge to it. Great first read from this author. Recommended read.
