Getting greater as it goes!

This series is getter BETTER as it goes along. I thought #1 was good, but seemed pretty simplistic and best suited to younger audiences. #2 got more complex and nuanced, and #3 is absolutely astounding.

Importantly, at least for me, this is a CLEAN series in both language and themes. Quite an improvement compared to the typical Kindle book these days.

There is plenty of technology in these books, but the core of each is the relationships between humans placed into difficult circumstances.

I hope this author keeps on writing, as I'll be glad to keep reading g his work. I don't often "follow" authors, but this one I definitely will keep reading.

EXCELLENT SERIES!

A Space Action Sci-Fi Page Turner with BSG and Top Gun Flavors Mixed Into a Hearty Stew of Tension and Conspiracies!

Another page turning science fiction thriller from Jerry Aubin. This time he combines the desperation and feel of a humanity in crises (a la Battlestar Galactica) with a little of the feel of Top Gun. Kalare and Zax once again play a pivotal role in this book as we get to finally see the inner operations of the Ship's Flight Training Academy.

Although the use of the call sign "Maverick" was a little obvious, it was still great fun, and plausible considering the length of time that would have passed for the society on the ship (no immediately knowledge and connection to entertainment by then). I'm not joking when I say that I heard the Top Gun Danger Zone song running through my head as cadets took flight for the first time.

Fun flying aside, flight in a hostile galaxy is fraught with danger, and menaces abound: both external to the ship and internal divisions. The new mission of the ship is clear, and the route previously seen, but there is real unknown ahead and conspiracies afoot.

Once again, another fast-paced, tightly written space action thriller by Jerry Aubin. And, now... I have to wait for the next installment: this is a problem!

One more final item. I actually bought this book with real money, rather than getting it for free through Kindle Unlimited or through a Samsung deal. I haven't been able to justify that in over a year due to budget constraints and the somewhat lower quality of many indie author texts. This series changed that for me: it was that good. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Homeward audiobook version. Aubin uses this book to let the readers know how the asteroid was created and the deals that were made to insure it was finished. This plot line points to future events detailed in the next book Rendezvous. Homeward begins after the end of the revolution. Now that the victors are in control the revolutionaries are faced with the ugly question "What do we do now?". This series has not been known for its humor. Aubin introduces situations which if viewed from the right angle very funny. It seems that creating chaos is a lot more easier than creating change or running a spaceship with millions of people. Under the circumstances no one ends up happy.Decision making is a royal pain. The revolutionaries do decide to take the asteroid back to Earth. Beyond that they are faced with big questions who's answers are unknowable. The biggest one is Earth habitable? Who are the others and why are they trying to destroy the asteroid?

This is another well written book by Aubin. It show his craft as a writer. The end of the book portends other up coming major changes.

Fellows,
As I mentioned in my review of the first book in the series, it is for someone in the their 10-20 in my humble opinion. Nevertheless I have read all three books in the series with a pleasure taking into account that I could not connect with the main character just because of my age :) I had read two previous books and was really looking forward to read the third book hoping to get some answers about events that were described in the previous two books, but the third one introduced some new questions then... ended abruptly... I have when this happens! There will be two books published in 2017, hope I shall not have to wait too long.
Thanks,
Rustam.

Where things get more complex and Zax makes the same mistake but this time, will it all over for him?

In this book we get a peek in the history of The Ship, while we discover new strange events. Are there other humans and why they attack The Ship, Are the Ants humanity enemy or they are taking care of the abandoned colonies. In all of this Zax gets to discover a new secret and his decision to share with anyone powerful person that he trust seems to lead him to be all over for him

Ship series book 3

I like this series of books because they give a multi-year view of life in an era of space travel and colonization. Although geared towards young adults I find it also has kept my interest as an older adult. I recommend these books and look forward to the next book in the series.

Nice Little Series

When I was a young'en you could not get me to read a Si-Fi book. But now ( I just turned 60) I can't put them down... But they have to be really good. Well this series is REALLY good, not just the first book but all three in the series I've read so far and as soon as the others come out I will be right there to get them.
The author can really spin a yarn, the characters are great! you have plenty of action with the twist and turns you don't see coming. If you enjoy Space Opera I think they call this I really recommend this series. Get it, find a comfy chair and enjoy.

Great sci-fi series to enjoy with your children (or on your own!)

I kind of stumbled into the first book in The Ship series, Landfall, and sought out the following books. These are very fun, fast-paced, intelligent series whose actions span millennia.

What a great series.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. I do struggle finding great sci-fi novels that really grab me, less so series of books. This in my opinion is one of the best most fun and exciting reads out there.

Good read

Enjoyed each book in series. Very entertaining and original. Reminds me of early Heinlein and Niven.

Has a good emotional connection that is missing from many sci fi books.

The saga continues

The pace keeps picking up. This was the most exciting book to date, it was really interesting how the story navigated through various storylines. Also, the history of the ship was interjected into the this book.

I kept stumbling on ads for this series and finally bit the bullet and bought books 1-3 on sale. I'm so glad I did! Enjoyable read with twists and turns that keep you guessing. The author is fond of cliffhangers, so beware.

Refreshing

It reminds me at things are not always what they seem. People have different motivations and some are are very good actors on the stage of life. Technology advances and increases our abilities.

Good series

Fairly good character development, but a little thin on plot. Rather like a fleshed out outline but lacking some polish. Good promise, though.

"Homeward: The Ship Series, Book Three". The page-turning Sci-Fi series continues and suspicious Zak gets another chance within the hierarchy, as The Ship begins a hopeful, circuitous journey to an unexpected destination. Fascinating flashbacks continue to fill in the early history of the project that built The Ship. Then, keep going, reader, because you MUST read Book Four, it’s a shocker!! Five ADVENTUROUS Stars. 334 pages.
