This book talks about insects and you can learn cool things about them just like this insect. Jumping really high can be an example of fleas. If you wanna know about fleas, keep on reading. It's really interesting how they jump and on how high they jump with their tiny body's. They can jump hundreds of times an hour for several days. Fleas will keep on jumping till they find an animal from which to suck on its blood. The thing that makes them jump really high would be two pads of rubbery material called resilin. Those pads sit the back of the baseOf the fleas back legs. Wing hinges, passed on from the fleas winged ancestors. So the resilin stores and releases energy.
When the flea gets ready to jump, it bends it's back legs. It's third leg is nearly vertical. The catch edge of the body plates is engaged. That prevents the release of energy that was stored in the resilin pad. Soon as the catch mechanism is sprung, the energy stored in the resilin is released. Back pair of leg strike the ground, and the flea is launched. As the flea clings to the fur of the host, it uses it's claws on its legs. Bristles on its head, body helps the flea hold on too. And that how the flea jumps and how it works to make them jump high.
I recommend this book to the people that like bugs and are interested in them. Like they would want to know about bugs. They might be images of the bugs that disgust some people but it would be interesting to look at the bugs closely and you should see the way the flea jumps.

I like bugs, so I like this books, but my mother doesn't like me to buy bugs back home to see them grow.
