Jane Harrigan is a novelist, poet and academic writer. Her forthcoming novel, ‘The Unravelling’, is a story of how two minds unravel with mental illness and dementia causing a family to disintegrate. The themes of guilt, betrayal and grief run through this work of literary fiction which has an unlikely saviour in its denouement. As an Emeritus Professor of the University of London Jane has published numerous academic books on the politics and economics of the Middle East and Africa. Her poetry has been published in several anthologies and magazines. She is an avid traveler and a mental illness and dementia advocate as well as a mental health service user. Her fiction and poetry is informed by her own life experiences and aims to delve into her characters’ psyche as well as to create a strong sense of place.
