A Christmas Hymn Study is a 92-page collection of history, scripture and fun. In addition to the story behind the hymn, students are guided through a study of the meaning behind it and the scripture that shares the story of this wonderful event. Each hymn includes the music and lyrics for you to sing and learn, plus a Tin Whistle tablature. This fingering would work for any similar instrument, like a recorder. Of course, there are also copywork pages, coloring pages, word searches and other fun activities to go along with the hymns. There is enough content to cover 1 hymn a week, but the study is flexible, so you can choose how much to cover in one day. No need to worry about having a specific number of days to complete it. Each hymn is a stand-alone unit. Do as much or as little as you’d like. I have written this unit study with the older elementary student (3rd-5th grade) in mind. Should you so choose, this study can be done fairly independently at that age. For younger students, simply work together allowing him/her to take control of any parts that can be handled independently (suggested adaptations are included in the instructions). Of course, you may choose to do this study as a family and that would work perfectly as well! Copywork is included for each hymn, both in KJV and ESV. I pray that your journey through this Christmas season will be blessed as you aim to focus on the Holy Child, born to be our Savior!
