Once you get used to the written accents, this book is just fun, very much a copy of the Caldwell books but flat out funny in a very dated way. Be warned this is a book about the ignorance of the southern condition so it is full of racism and sexism that some might find offensive if you take things at face value, or in other words your own ignorance to what was trying to be said in this book might keep you from enjoying it. Important to note that stupid is just stupid, but ignorance can be removed by education and progress. There is nothing wrong with being ignorant we all are in some ways or another, but stupidity is most often a choice.
honestly this book made me chuckle more than once, it was a wacky adventure with unexpected twists and some frustrating elements that ended up adding to the humor in its own way.
Well constructed words and sentences about absolutely nothing. Not much of a story line. I almost stopped reading it, 2 or 3 times. I wish I had stopped.
