Prayers for use by the laity in waging spiritual warfare from the public domain and the Church's treasury. The book has an imprimatur from the Archdiocese of Denver.
Chad Alec Ripperger, F.S.S.P. is an American Catholic priest, theologian, philosopher and exorcist. He is well known among Traditionalist Catholic circles and has given numerous talks around the country on various religious topics. Many of these are available for viewing on YouTube.
This book is full of excellent prayers for those who understand spiritual warfare. I would just add that everyone should be very careful to read the beginning where it explains who has the authority to rebuke for others and who does not. Parents have the authority for their children. Husbands and wives have the authority for each other, to be able to pray in this way. For others for whom we pray, we can pray the Blood of Jesus over them or in other ways explained in the book. I found this book to be very helpful and I use it very often.
I’ve owned this book for years, but have never read it in a cover-to-cover sort of way before now. It’s one of those books where I wore out the binding before the book had worn out its usefulness.
I just bought the new faux leather edition and it looks so much better. Not only is it constructed better but the layout seems much less like a self published book.
Before listing the prayers, Father gives a concise explanation about authority and what the natural law will and won’t do in terms of spiritual protection. Because on the one hand there are ridiculous people who think that by virtue of their baptism, they can start their own deliverance ministry. On the other hand are those ostriches with their heads in the sand who think that the laity has no business in spiritual warfare. And the thing is, demons don’t care what you believe. There are rules in the preternatural order, and if you don’t follow them (in either direction), you are going to get taken to the woodshed. These rules get nicely parsed out in his bigger books like Dominion. But all that is absolutely needed can be found in the introduction.
One of my favorite parts of the book is the section on oppression. Father explained on on of his YouTube talks on Sensus Fidelium that through his exorcism work, he’d uncovered a shortcut to the normal remedy for spiritual oppression—which is a long grinding out of the oppression through mental prayer. Demons by virtue of the natural law do not have a right to oppress anyone, and we have to assert our rights and tell them to get out. Father composed a couple of prayers that very specifically reclaimed those natural law rights that the enemy would love to pretend that we don’t have.
The prayer I use most frequently is the commission of the care of the soul and body. While it can be said at any time, it is particularly suited for right before bed. It’s detailed without being tedious and just in general it’s a great “begets what it signifies” kind of prayer.
Overall, it is a powerful aid for prayer and a concise explanation of the when’s and the why’s for praying them.
The prayers included in this book are indispensable. They really work. However, I would have liked to see more indication on when it's appropriate to say certain prayers and how often. This is the only reason I only gave it 3 stars. Perhaps in a future edition, this direction could be included.
The only thing I would have added if this was to be revised would be "when should you pray X, y, or Z". However there was a talk given on this topic so I marked up my copy with the notes from that.
I'm not the audience of this book, and read it out of curiosity after I was sent it by mistake in the mail.
I didn't find most of the prayers to be poetic as I would've thought. Many read like a reptilian lawyer arguing with an evil genie. The thoroughness of detail in trying to name every sin possible would make some powergamers jealous. Knowing little about Catholicism, I came away with an impression of a system of great complexity that's lost in most religions and organizations of today, and although I don't like it, I have respect for that.
I most enjoyed the final section, which went through what were allegedly many secret oaths of masonic organizations, in order to renounce them.

I suffer from depression and have found in this book of prayers balm for my troubled soul. Reading this book of prayers has brought me much peace. Having practiced New Age I believe these prayers are delivering me, and am most grateful to Fr. Ripperger for compiling these prayers.
I use this little book daily for personal prayer and for intercession for those going through spiritual trials. I've tabbed the prayers I use regularly (prayers against temptation, prayer to protect faculties, a consecration prayer, litany of humility, etc.). Not every prayer in here is appropriate for me though (ie. For cardinal and occult spirits) and I would highly recommend ***first asking a spiritual director if it would be fruitful for you to use.*** It is helpful to have all of these prayers in one place, and I have taped in more prayers that I pray daily for convenience (for example, the prayer to take authority endorsed by Monsignor John Esseff, and an act of adoration on behalf of priests). I am of the opinion that if you have trouble with scrupulosity this book has the potential to be more harmful than helpful.
I too would have liked to see more instruction, but I know that would have made this book significantly longer and less accessible. Perhaps a manual in addition to this prayer book?
A beautiful prayer book that should be used daily. This will help deepen your prayer life.
I am so grateful for Father Ripperger's immense knowledge and devotion. He has helped spread the Kingdom and saved so many souls. May God bless him abundantly in this life and in the one to come.
This is a must have in 2021 for Catholic families. You need these prayers to arm you and guard you to face the spiritual warfare in our world and culture. Get this book and say the prayers everyday!
I routinely make use of prayers written herein for persistent intercession on behalf of those caught, influenced, or oppressed by evil forces or entities. Sometimes it may be true that I am the only one interceding on behalf of the oppressed. I dare not back down or retreat but lean in to our Savior at such a time as that. Thus volume is very helpful in this regard.
✒️ Outstanding book of deliverance prayers that truly was an eye-opener. After finishing it, I realized that I got one of the best educations on demonic influences in all our lives, including sins, vices, and spirits. I especially appreciated the explanations of The Ten Commandments and ways we need to see how and how much we are breaking them. This is a must-read for everyone.

Anyone who has listened to Father Rippenger’s sermons or interviews is aware of his vast knowledge, his education, and his delightfully humorous wit. Father Rippenger has accumulated a valuable resource for us in this prayer book, which I would highly recommend for every home. I purchased several copies of this book and have been mailing it to friends in multiple countries, especially those who have been battling demonic attacks.
Es una gran ayuda en la batalla espiritual. Las oraciones son muy útiles, notarán una diferencia en sus vidas. Puede sonar exagerado, pero no lo es en lo más mínimo.
This is an excellent collection of prayers to help you in your spiritual journey to the final Promised Land. These prayers cover a wide arena of circumstances. Highlight the ones most relevant to you and review them regularly.
This should be used by laity after a discussion with a priest supportive and familiar with its use. I stick to the prayers in the first half so I do not invite/excite unnecessary spiritual warfare into my home.
I a’m enjoying the prayers, happy that you have guided me to which ones to read. They are very spiritual. Right now we need them, there is a lot of spiritual warfare going on.
