A devastating domino effect initiated by one man’s monetary greed and lust for power sets off a confrontation between Joey Moretti and Alex Kardias.
Against the backdrop of a Native American reservation and the Highlands Casino, the author cultivates an unforgettable story whose three-dimensional characters pulsate with fascinating backgrounds. Inner demons and motivations propel their journey.
I highly recommend this fast-paced cultural heritage fiction grounded in wisdom, suspense, and retribution—all of which emotionally shatter the reader.
The Joey Moretti books have not been written in order. Story wise this is book 2. The great thing is each book is a stand alone novel.
Joey Moretti is the main character. This book is about his life. Joey is trying to find a new life. He left his previous home and life without a plan. Everything happens for a reason. Joey met an Indian that bought him into a whole new world.
The reader gets to know Joey Moretti and the characters he interacts with as Joey rebuilds his life. A whole new world which Joey assimilates easily to. Nothing lasts forever. Joey Moretti is well equipped to deal with almost anything. Deal with anyone who hurts those he loves.
There is a second story taking place at the same time. Another guy, Alex, is making his way in his own life. When the two stories merge, step back.
Very original story. Page turner. Action. Suspense. Joey Moretti’s seems more like someone I know rather than a character in a book. This was my third Joey Moretti novel. Can't wait to find out what’s next for Joey.
At first, this prequel to another story, seems like a simple read. But readers will soon find out there is a lot of hidden information inside the covers of this book. When Joey is picked up hitch hiking by Coyote, his life is going to change. Joey's past is confusing and hard. He is going to find just the opposite when he is invited to stay with Coyote. he learns important lessons about not only life, but about himself. I enjoyed this book and think that it gives much needed applause to Native Americans and a culture that is dying.Of course there is a bit more to this story, but I encourage readers to grab the book and see what surprises the author has in store for you.
The writers style is unique. I like his use of conversation throughout. This book takes you back to the early years of Joey Moreti, the character from Mystical Glasses. Great name for the new book and the cover explains it all at the end. It is another easy read and a page turner. A definite thriller to the very end. If you enjoy a little bit of history ( Native American) mystery, sex, violence and thrills you will love Innocent Retribution. I couldn't put it down, and the ending was a surprise.
I had read the author's last novel and really enjoyed it. So when I saw this new novel wanted to give it a try. Enjoyed this book more. It picks up steam as you read it. It all comes together in a very satisfactory way. Was interesting to discover the Indian culture. Can understand why they have had so many problems. Think you will enjoy this book and look forward to his next novel
I was glad to find there was an ‘interquel’ to Mystical Glasses so I could discover what Joey did in those missing years. And I wasn’t disappointed. It was another delightful story providing lots of action and history. Easy to read and hard to put down.
Just finished reading 'Innocent Retribution' -a fast moving novel with an unimagined ending. Clever plot, which leads the reader towards a presumed climax, but abruptly changes direction. Brilliant. A must read after 'Mystical Glasses.' Proud to know you Jack.
