It seems like everything is falling into place for Cory. Her uncle Micah is engaged to his perfect match, and she's lucky in love herself with her boyfriend Blue. She's excited to help prepare for the wedding, but when she hears of another marriage on the horizon – her mother's, to a goblin – she knows things might not go quite as planned. The fairy guilds have promised to leave Cory alone, but she knows they still don't agree with her lifestyle, so truly anything is possible. Add to that a witchy match that proves more difficult than usual and an upcoming Battle of the Bands -- all while hiding that she's Cupid! -- and Cory's got her hands full! E.D. Baker made her international debut in 2002 with The Frog Princess, which was a Texas Lone Star Reading List Book, A Book Sense Children's Pick, a Florida's Sunshine State Readers List pick & a 2006 Sasquatch Book Award nominee. The Frog Princess inspired the Disney's Princess and the Frog!

E. D. Baker was born in Buffalo, New York and spent most of the next eighteen years in the Town of Tonawanda with her older brother and her parents. She married her husband while in college, and had two children a few years after graduating from Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. When her son was four, the family moved to the state of Maryland. With two young children at home, E.D. worked part time in her husband’s business and took writing classes at the local community college. She continued taking writing classes after the birth of her second daughter, but when she and her husband divorced, she went back to school and entered the SIMAT (School Immersion Masters in the Art of Teaching) program at Johns Hopkins University. After graduating, she taught fifth grade until her parents’ health began to fail. Her son had already graduated from college when E.D. and her daughters moved north to be closer to her parents. Having gained a new perspective on what is important in life, E.D. decided that it was time to believe in herself and devoted her time to writing. Her first book, The Frog Princess, was published in 2002. E.D. has written 25 books to date and has no plans to quite writing anytime soon.

Currently E. D. Baker lives on a small farm in Maryland where she and her family breed Appaloosa horses. They also have dogs, cats and goats.

Like the other books in this series, this one was fun, funny, silly, and exciting. At times it again seemed a whirlwind of random events, but the excitement never stopped. I enjoyed the story, as did my two children, 13 and 10.

This was a cute book, and a fun read for me. The goblin wedding was weird, and had moments that I felt truly angry for Cory. I truly dislike Cory’s mom, and I am not overly fond of her judgmental grandmother either. Cory however is a wonderful character, who easily settles into situations, and handles things around her wonderfully. I love her boyfriend Blue, and his desire to keep her safe, and the affection he shows her. Macks and the other Ogre friends are a delight, although I didn’t really like Macks girlfriend. He is a good person, and she is a self centered, and stuck up. That being said I am hopeful their will be another book in The Fairy Tale Matchmaker series. I would really love to see Cory and Blue’s wedding someday. So far the third book was still my favorite in the series. Probably due to the fact that there is more troubles she faces in that book, that also leads to more romance between Blue and Cory, and you get to see several times just how much they care for each other. What can I say, I’m a romantic. Over all I had a great time in the world of The Fairy Tale Matchmaker, and I am looking forward to going back again someday.

My daughter really likes E.D. Baker, but this is the first book we've read in this series, and...wow. While she enjoyed it well enough, I was appalled at the messages concerning what abuse victims owe their abusers. Answer: abuse victims still must socialize with their abusers because they're family! Wheee! We had a long talk about that.

Of course, there is also the inherent problem that people don't get to choose their future spouses; Cupid does the picking. There is a weak attempt at explaining that "true love" is more than just love-at-first-sight, but in this volume, true love is presented as nothing *but* love-at-first-sight; there is nobody working on relationships. And, of course, the fact that Cupid is doing the choosing for your perfect mate (and whatever force Cupid works for).

I will say, I was pleasantly surprised that there was a polyamorous couple.

TL;DR This appears to be a toxic series with problematic and dangerous themes, and I'll avoid it from here on out.

I finished this book on Friday Sep. 4th and I think I started it the Sunday before. I really like it, but it took me slightly longer to read than the others. I think this is because it was a little weird. NOT in a way that disgusts you or even makes you not want to finish reading the book. It just kind of makes you tilt your head a think "okay then...". Some parts of the story also didn't make sense, either because I didn't know a whole characters backstory and why they are doing what they are doing, or because the events are just so random that you can't believe how someone could let them happen. All in all I really do love E.D Baker and her Matchmaker series but this particular book fealt like it was just being dragged along and it should have stopped at the third. I also think that it ended way too abruptly, without all the "challenges" being solved. I love a good cliffhanger but I don't think there is going to be a 5th book so it just doesn't make sense to have one.

Ugh, why did I ever like this series? I mean, I love E.D. Baker and her stories, but golly gracious, this bored me to tears! Not to mention, I didn't love Cory in the first place. She's a bit too blunt for my taste. She does have some good points so that does help, but I still can't get over it. (Hey, I hold a grudge.)
Also, this book goes from one subpoint to the next, getting absolutely NOWHERE. It's cute and I liked the stories but it gets wearing when you don't see an end in sight. Even the ending just drops off a clip and doesn't leave us with any resolution.
It also reads very much so like "telling." It's just telling me all these things and I just can't drag myself into it any longer. A cute fairy-story for littles, maybe, but not for this reader. I can't get past the writing and lack of plot.
Maybe another E.D. book will be a better fit.

This is a beautiful book that I will totally get for my niece. I read middle age/child books trying to find the right one for her, I like to give quality and good memories to her and not just random book. This was beautiful with a big mix of fantasy where you will meet Cupid, Santa Claus, Frankenstein and so many others in the same world and in the most cute way.

I loved this book, just like the other series books. The ending was not my favorite, however, because there was not another book written after this one. So now we will never know if Daisy found her match or not. (though I'm sure she did)

This one felt a little all over the place, less cohesive, more like a collection of short drabbles.
