On a frigid night in December, Sonya Donovan is murdered but her untimely death is staged to look like natural causes. Cal has to work around Sheriff Patrice Clinton, who s personally involved with the family, to investigate those who have the most to gain from Mrs. Donovan s death. About the author

Midge is the author of the Cal Sheehan mysteries published by North Star Press of St. Cloud: The Equalizer, (2014), Silver's Bones (2015), and Crow Wing Dead (2016) Love 'Em or Leave 'Em Dead (2017)). She has short stories in two anthologies: Dark Side of the Loon - Where History Meets Mystery and Cooked to Death -Hell for the Holidays. She has a BS degree in education from Minnesota State University and a social science major from the University of California, Irvine. She has taught in Minnesota and California. Midge continues to study writing with the Loft Literary Center in Minneapolis and has educated herself in police proceedures through several resources including attending the eight week Orono Citizens Police Academy and the six weeks Hennepin County Sheriff's Office Citizens' Academy. Midge lives with her husband in the Minneapolis Metro area.

Another winner. Just when you think you have all the facts and know "who done it" a new twist is introduced. I have enjoyed being part of Cal Sheehan's family and work lives. Racing through the book just means I will read it again!

Love ‘Em or Leave ‘Em Dead, by novelist Midge Bubany, is the fourth in her Cal Sheehan murder mystery series. As with her previous books, Midge weaves an interesting, complex and fast-paced story. The characters are well-developed, and the dialogue is witty, sometimes gritty, and always entertaining. The police-related descriptions in the book seem quite realistic, and lend authenticity to the descriptions. Sheehan has matured as a detective, and as a person. As a cop, he is smart, savvy and tough, but also likable, and very human. Managing his personal life is, if anything, more complex than solving the murders. With his girlfriend, ex-wife, ex-girlfriends, kids, step-kids, mom (wow!), he is doing the best he can. All together, LEOLED makes for a very enjoyable reading experience.

I might have enjoyed this book (4th) the best. I followed the characters through out the story line. I enjoyed the surprises in the plot. I can see where the author can go further with future books.

Enjoyed this book . The author is local here in Minneapolis and so there’s many places that she mentions in the city which is very fun it’s a murder mystery and I found it very very good I would highly recommend the book her writing was a great flow
