Blaze Marshall is hotness personified in more ways than one. As a local firefighter in my small hometown of Timber Bluff, he’s rugged, strong, and one-hundred-percent total alpha male. I’ve fantasized about Blaze for as long as I can remember, but I’ve never been able to act on my desires. There just so happens to be one teensy problem where he’s concerned.
He’s my dad’s best friend.
When my parents’ house catches fire on New Year’s Eve, I have nowhere to stay until they get back from out of town. Nowhere to stay except Blaze’s rustic cabin in the mountains…And when things start to heat up between us, my fantasies look as if they’re finally about to come true. Just as long as my dad doesn’t kill him first.
Light me up, Fireman. My flames will burn all night for you.
Sylvia Fox writes steamy stories about alphas who aren’t afraid of taking what they want, and the women who love them. Each release is a stand alone with a guaranteed happily ever after. Cliff hangers and brooding angst won’t be found here — Sylvia prefers a man who delivers a good spanking and a diamond ring.
My first book from the author. Before I read the book, all I know is that it's safe. And yes, it is. I love older man-younger woman trope and falling in love with his best friend's daughter. The story is good but not good enough for me though.
The story is about Blaze and Poppy.
Blaze is a Timber Bluff firefighter and he's best friends with Poppy's father.
Her parents went to Paris for New Year's Eve to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary and she was left home alone for her winter break. They suggested she could have friends over. Word got out and a lot came to her supposedly little party.
During the party, the house caught on fire and Blaze saved her.
She said her feelings for him ran deep but I didn't feel it because if her father didn't approve in the end, she would just leave Blaze and live a life without him. Yes, she's there with Blaze but he's the only one fighting for her and their relationship.
Short story of a firefighter who saves a young woman from a burning house. The firefighter happens to be her father's best friend. This is a typical Sylvia Fox book with an older man and younger so many. Cute, sexy and short.
After reading Mentor Me, Professor and discovering it a bit too much for me as it contained Age Play. I was a little hesitant to read Ignite Me, Fireman but am glad I did as compared to Mentor Me, Professor; this was much more of a romance book and also played out more realistically as one could imagine if this situation could occur. Poppy has always been a good girl and not breaking the rules, with her parents away she decides to have a few friends around. What started as an innocent group of friends having a good time ends up in a full-blown party. One thing leads to another, and the house is soon engulfed in flames. Enter Blaze Marshall - an appropriate name for a firefighter. Blaze is also Poppy's fathers best friend. Being the good friend, he offers Poppy to stay with him at his cabin until her parents get back. Poppy has always had a crush on Blaze and feels like her dreams have come true. During her stay, her dreams come true as the pair start a romantic relationship. What will happen though when reality hits and Poppy must now face her parents? Was this just a fling or is there something more brewing? Of course, Poppy's father reacts like any Dad would when they discover their best friend sleeping with their daughter and separates the pair. Though we all know that true love can't be extinguished like a fire and that if they are meant to be, they will always find a way. Will Poppy's parents ever accept Blaze dating their daughter or can this just stay a passing attraction? Find out in Ignite Me, Fireman who was a Sweet Older Man/ Younger Woman romance set with the perfect backdrop of a mountain cabin and snow. It can't get any more romantic than that, can it?
This was a sweet story about Poppy a 21 year old on Christmas break and during a house party that's gone wrong her families hairdresser gets set on fire. Enter Blaze the firman, her dads best friend & her crush!!
After Blaze saves Poppy he takes her to his cabin till get parents get back into town. Then things heat up between them, they find what's missing in each other.
What I liked about this story was Blaze the most, ones things started Poppy he never wavered, even with the threat of her dad. He didn't care.
Poppy, a good girl, is twenty-one and home alone for New Year's Eve as her parents are out of the country celebrating their anniversary. When her parents said she could have a few friends over to ring in the New Year, she was happy to not have to spend it alone. However, word got out, as it always does, and it seems as if everyone decided to crash the party. The situation also reinforces the fact that she doesn't want a boy when she falls in love, she wants, needs, a man. Poppy even knows the one she wants. Unfortunately, he's sixteen years older than her, and her Dad's best friend.
When the party continues to get out of hand, *cough cough fire*, Poppy, though everyone else has gotten out, is in danger as she's gone upstairs to find her best friend, Rachel. Thankfully, Blaze, the object of Poppy's desire, arrives just in time. Poppy isn't sure what to think at Blaze's obvious concern for her, though the guilt of what happened is overwhelming. When Blaze informs her she can stay at his place until her parents get home, the little thrill of excitement she experiences can't be contained.
What happens when it becomes apparent the intense attraction is mutual? Will they act on it? How will Poppy's parents react when they find out? Will Blaze and Poppy get the future they want? Or will they be forced to remain apart?
One-click now and watch as the spark of desire is ignited between these two. On a personal note, there were a few things I could've done without, i.e. overuse of the endearment "sweet stuff," Blaze and Poppy's Dad referring to each other as "buddy," and Blaze calling her Dad "sir" (they're best friends, the same age, so it was a bit much) as he's trying to explain what she means to him, but they're minor as I enjoyed the story overall. I do really wish these stories were told from both points-of-view though.
**I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.**
Poppy has always done the right thing and been very responsible all her life. But the one time she decided to step out of her comfort zone and have a party things go very wrong; her parent's house becomes engulfed in flames. Enter ruggedly handsome and sexy Blaze who is a firefighter and her Father's best friend. Blaze comes to Poppy's rescue and gets her safely out of her burning home and straight into his safe warm embrace.
Poppy has always been attracted to Blaze and when she finds out that he too is attracted to her, their own fire ignites! Poppy & Blaze quickly realize that being without each other isn't an option but being together comes with consequences that Poppy isn't prepared to face. Will Poppy be able to be happy and have her Father's blessing?
I really liked Blaze's character because he was steadfast from the beginning and didn't waiver at all. He knew he wanted Poppy in his life and that was what was most important to him.
This was a quick sexy read with a HEA. A nice addition to Sylvia Fox's other books. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review and originally posted this on another website on December 27, 2016.
Sexy and OTT which is always to be expected by Ms. Fox. This is not necessarily a bad thing however if that is what you are looking for. Not a bad read at all for something super-short. And the hero's name--Blaze Marshall--made me literally LOL!
I love Sylvia's books. This is another sweet, short and loving book. A must add to all the other Sylvia books! I voluntary read an advance reader copy of this book for my honest review
Ignite Me, Fireman is a father's best friend book. While all of Sylvia Fox's books so far are the exact same troupe, when reading it is a fantastic story!
Quick read - Writing wasn't the best and not much character development, but ok if a quick hot read is what you're looking for. Older guy, and an insta-love HEA
I enjoyed this short story. I liked both the hero and heroine. The storyline kept me entertained and I devoured this story in one sitting. Although I understood Poppy’s father’s anger, he annoyed me. I wanted Poppy to stick by Blaze’s side from the start and not let her father drag her back to school. I wish I could have read Blaze’s point of view. I really wanted to know what he was thinking when he saved Poppy. This story is a fast paced romance. If your looking for a hot insta love story then this book is for you.
Poppy decides to have a small gathering on New Years Eve whilst her parents away. What starts as a small group of friends turns into a houseful of stranger’s. When the unwanted party gets out of hand Poppy finds herself trapped in her burning house. Quickly being rescued by her father’s best friend, Blaze, she soon finds herself in his bed. Poppy has had a crush on Blaze for years, whilst in his cabin, sparks begin to fly. But as Blaze and Poppy give into their attraction, how will her father react? Will Blaze and Poppy get their happily ever after.
It's suddenly too hot here.Maybe i need my own fireman to extinguish the smoking hotness of this sexy short read! Sylvia will always amaze you with her older guys romance. This book also does not disappoint.Poppy is back from college and while her parents are out of town, she suddenly decides to hold a party. However things take an unexpected turn and Poppy finds herself calling her father's best friend fireman Blaze to the rescue. When Poppy is obliged to take refuge at Blaze's cabin, both the pair did not expect the blazing fire ignited between the two. Suddenly it seems Blaze's manpower is not enough to turn off this 'fire'. As tempting as it looks,Poppy can't start an affair with Blaze since he is her father's best friend and sixteen years older than her. However nobody can't resist such a temptation anymore, right? .. and Poppy finds herself in a much a greater dilemma than she reckoned for. Will the pair eventually gets their happily ever after? Read to find out! ;))
I love stories about older men. My husband is 18 years older than me so I can relate to these stories. Poppy needs a place to stay after her parents' home burns down from a fire. Her dad's best friend Blaze invites her to stay with him while she waits for her parents to return. There's a lot of tension between these two but no one makes the first move. When he catches her being naughty in his tub, Blaze makes his move.
I love me a fun, sexy story with hot older & experienced men!
While Poppy is home for Christmas break she has a party that spins out of control. During the party her parents house catches on fire. Blaze (her dad's best friend) comes in to save her and gives her a place to stay until her parents come home. This is a quick read with an HEA. *I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy of this book *
I was hoping for more dialogue. What happened to her best friend sticking around or the fact she caught the house on fire. I was hoping that there would be more something instead of them getting together.
I volunteered to review an ARC in order to provide an honest review. Another hot one from Sylvia Fox! Poppy and Blaze had serious passion and nobody can stand in the way of that, not even family. Quick, fun read.
I was estatic for poppy cause blaze made me literally say my hero i love seeing that when you love someone and its real it can make you get a backbone to people who dont appove great 5 star read
I just felt that there wasn't enough there (like background) for me to make a connection/mesh with the characters so that I could get into/immerse myself into the book and enjoy it. The heroine was just too spineless (in my opinion) which killed the romance in this for me.
Short read. Sylvia Fox does a great job with these shorter books! They are a great read! This is a younger woman, older male relationship. Which at first I was never a fan of, but I tried out Sylvia Fox's books and I really got into them.
If you love an older man and younger woman story then this is for you. Sweet well written story without all the heavy that comes with some stories. Loved this book.
