California biker Sammy Bergen was a cool dude. He thought he'd seen everything. Then he was summoned back in time to medieval Ireland by a druidic song spell--and he met the singer, the bewitchingly lovely Brianna.
The stranger she'd called to her was a prince of a man, strong and handsome and kind. Brianna had her own plans for this knight from a faraway land across the sea. Could she dare dream that she and Sammy could cross space and time to find perfect happiness --- together?

What started out as an exciting and funny story of a larger than life surfer man being sent back to historical Ireland into the company of a lonely healer, turned into a mush of not so good story telling and less than stellar chemistry. I was so stoked to read this book and from the first encounter between the hero and heroine I had high hopes for the outcome. There was something truly special about the hero who could smile and light up the room, but something along the way fizzled that out. He became less a Madonna like figure with smiles and good intentions and more like a stereotypical modern guy who made movie references and got cold feet when it came to falling in love with the heroine. I started to like him less and less and time went on and that saddened me because of that initial love I had for him. Same with the heroine. I could identify with her because who doesn't yearn for someone to talk to? Surrounded by men and promised to a man she despises, she wanted a friend and a companion even if she didn't understand the love between man and woman. I didn't like how she dreamt about the modern times and therefore also took to spouting off pop culture references and I didn't like how she got a little clingy towards the end. The whole plot was a little off and it's make a whole lot of sense and I doubt very much any effort was put into making this in anyway historically actuate but regardless, I was an okay outcome but nothing special.
I so enjoyed this book, highly improbable as it is! I thought it was a good way to spend my time, just a simply delightful read!
Its my favorite time travel book and I absolutely love how it ends and that there is an epilogue following down the years a bit is even better! I love stories where you get to know the characters and just love them and then the writer gives you the gift of knowing how their lives turned out. That way you don't finish the book and wonder what did they do, how did they handle that.
This is the only time travel book I have read where a man gets pulled back by a woman who can sing magick and not only does she bring him back but his "beast" as well! I like Sammy's modern talk coupled with Brianna's medieval Irish talk, its great. I also like the way they found to battle the Vikings at the end as well as the king, whom I disliked very much! He was so obsessive about Brianna and I felt bad for his wife, but she sure told him in the end!
If you love to read just for the fun of it and enjoy time travel and magickal twists then I highly reccomend this very fun book!
This book was an interesting-themed time travel romance. A biker guy and his Harley is sent back to 9th century Ireland unintentionally by a Druidess in a small seaside village. Cute story, but nothing really deep. It's very early 90's with the way Sammy talks and dresses (orange and white pants?) but unique with the biker angle and how the villagers react to the "beast" Sammy rides. The ending is actually quite pleasing and wraps up the story in a way you wouldn't necessarily expect. If you enjoy time travel romance this is an easy read you'll probably like.
IN MY DREAMS - Okay Sizemore, Susan - Harper Historical Romance
Brianna, living in Ireland during the Dark Ages, is studying to be a healer. "Sammy" Bergen is a modern day biker. When Sammy begins hearing a mysterious 'singing voice' he thinks he's gone crazy. Instead, he's listening to Brianna, a 9th century Irish maiden.
It was cute but bordering on silly. The time travel didn't hang together for me.
A great time travel fantasy romance. A real kickass hero and a strong, feisty heroine who fight their attraction until they can't deny it anymore. The interesting part about this book is that there's more than one conflict, so it was never lagging or dull at any part. This is also a book where the end ties up very neatly, so if a reader likes this kind of ending, go for it.
