Have loved the series since it started with Bobby Adair and TW Piperbrook. I hate to say it but, sorry Bobby, I like these last two even better. Characters are fleshed out better and there is more continuity. Bray, Kirby and William have taken on more personality and sense of humanity. I love the way this conflict was resolved for the Halifax people and that they were truly good people in a world full of treachery. Thank you so much for continuing the story.
Love this series! This is book 2 of the second series. I highly recommend listening to The Last Survivors series first. Both series are among my favorite post-apocalyptic books I've ever read or listened to.
Kirby, Bray, and William are now with the island people. Kirby and Bray had their suspicions about these people but William was very sick so they were left with no choice but to seek help from these people. They were right to be suspicious. The island people had some pretty dark secrets and are not as hospitable as they appear to be.
Another excellent performance by Sean Runnette! I'm very happy that T. W. Piperbrook kept the same narrator throughout the series. I can't imagine anyone else doing it. I'm a little sad to hear that the next book will be the last in this series. I've loved every book! I'm looking forward to seeing what Piperbrook writes next!
Is it possible in this “new” world that to be a leader you must be insane? Usually it’s those that can hide their dark side so well that they are charismatic, who rise to the top before people realize just how bat shit crazy they are. This book shows that in such a way that you understand it all as well as how and why the people of the arches( and the Halifax )are who and what they are or have become without it becoming a book about torture and other horrific things can’t wait to see what happens next
The continuing story of Bray, Kirby, and William is such an amazing adventure. With tons of action throughout, it keeps the reader captivated.
After resting at The Arches islands, Bray, Kirby, and William are betrayed by Flora, an islanders that they helped in book 1. Now they have to join forces with another bunch of people to rescue William from the islands. Will they succeed?
Another excellent installment of this series where battles rage and we are introduced to more people - the Islanders and Halifax men.
This was particularly interesting because nothing was certain - who was good, who was bad? The characters were brilliant for the story, and the world-building was superb. William is intriguing for sure.
I don't give spoilers but will say that it is fast-paced and compelling...what will happen next, I am about to find out.
Tyler Piperbrook has wrote another amazing story. The Ruins 2 starts immediately after the events of book 1 end. At the end of book one we realize that the Arches is not a great place to live, and as the events of book 2 happen we realize that Deacon and his soldiers are as evil as Tenbrook from The Last Survivors. I can’t wait to start reading the next book in the series to see what happens to Bray, William, and Kirby.
The narrative captivated me with its intense final confrontation, immersing me so deeply that I felt like a participant rather than a mere observer. The author's skillful storytelling left no narrative threads unresolved, creating a satisfying and complete experience. With its perfect balance of action, suspense, and compelling plot development, this story is sure to enthrall even the most discerning readers.
6 books of the last survivor, just a great story written by Bobby Adair and TW Piperbrook. Now TW Goes alone with the ruins books and take up where the last survivor series ended. Just finished book 2 of the 4 book series and already into book 3. The action just doesn’t let up. Knowing there is only book 3 and 4 to go I will be sorry to see Bray, William and Kirby’s adventures end.
This is the second book so far and it continues the story at a fast pace! Well written, I love the main characters and their struggle to survive and keep together. I love all of this authors books, glad I found him!
Book 2 finished and did not disappoint. The battle between the Halifax people and the people of The Arches was fought. I was very afraid for my fav characters. I would recommend everyone read this book. Now on to book 3. See you later.
I enjoyed the second book, getting to know the main characters better, joining in the emotional and physical battles they face and hoping that they will find the peaceful settlement William and Kirby so desperately crave.
An excellent sequel to an already excellent story! I'm so happy to follow what's going on after "The last survivor", even if it's only Bray, Kirby and William. A real page turner, can't put it down!
The series is going through a twist that I have been following. The twists are going to happen again and I hope that you will continue to keep the survivors alive.
This is a great sequel to the first, shorter book. So many new characters that I grew to love, and in some cases, such as Deacon, detest. Roll on book three...
