Café-owner Courtney has one Christmas to get a little alone time with the grumpy but sexy Marcus. Unfortunately, he seems to be going out of his way to avoid her. The only glimmer of hope she has is that he won't let any other man get near her. Hybrid Marcus is conflicted. Every part of him is calling for him to be with the doe-eyed woman, but being with a human goes against everything he has vowed to fight. After all, humans were the ones that imprisoned his people and experimented on them. When the pair are stranded together because of a storm, their mutual attraction threatens to explode, but the real threat is a deadly and cunning beast stalking them in the snow. Marcus is forced to decide what’s more important, defending his people’s honor or protecting his own chance at happiness.

Madison currently lives with her husband and two children in the Valley of the Sun. Phoenix, Arizona. After leaving the frozen tundra of the north, Madison was more surprised than anyone with how much she has enjoyed living in the desert. Seeing as she had stated on more than one occasion how much she hated the heat, it was an odd move. But it seemed her hatred for sub-zero temps and ice, or really the things that ice could do, won out in the end.
When she’s not writing, she’s enjoying time with her family. Madison and her family frequent festivals in the area, as well as local cultural events, and spend time with family in the area. In the summer she is most likely to be found in the pool with the family and in the winter by the fireplace. Since both her children are autistic, days can be a little chaotic but with her husband beside her, there’s nothing she can’t handle. Luckily he is also an author and able to share in all the activities (and chores) special needs kids require.
Madison has a full schedule of releases planned for 2014 listed and updated on her blog:

Well I read the first 3 books in the luna lodge series a couple years ago and was entertained but they weren't particularly memorable. Was never tempted to pick up the series again til this one. I just felt like an easy quick read, and I got that but I also got two MCs that I could connect and identify with. It was also a bit darker than I remembered from the first books.

A group of super soldiers created in secret labs by the Government, are trying to exist in secret. There are other groups of 'creations' that are evil, somewhat evil, and flat out crazed. These super soldiers each have a 'destined mate' called 'Vestals'. Marcus doesn't really believe this though.

Marcus the man who feels disconnected from everyone, everything,.. even his own past. And Courtney, the woman who sees the value in him that he doesn't see himself.
The blurb says they get trapped in a cabin during a snowstorm together. But it is more serious than that. Something has trapped them there. The author did a great job making me feel the weather, the cold house, the fear of whats outside.
For just under 100 pages, I got an eerie, yet romantic trip. The first part of the story introduces the MCs and while I liked them both, I really liked Marcus' character. I especially like that his character stays the same even after he finds love. He doesn't morph from a grump to a sweetie pie. He saves his tender side for Courtney ; )
I hope to read more of these two in future and plan to read more by this author.

love it

well that was a surprise. really liked it. love that marcus and courtney finally found a happy ending. he was such a jerk in the earlier books. i wanted to punch him a few times myself. we finally see him realize he needs humans and others. courtney is sweet and unsure of herself around marcus. he growls at her never speaks to her. she is shocked when he changes her mind. very good read. very cute ending.

Sooner or later you have to face some things...

From the moment Courtney first saw Marcus she wanted him, unfortunately he's the hybrid least likely to take a chance on a human.

Marcus came out of cryo at the same time as his fellow hybrids, the question is did he go in at the same time?

One of the things I loved in this quick read was exploring how he thinks, how he approaches life, and ultimately how he cares.

The word errors that are in the book just started to annoy me. Nothing major but a couple of times I couldn’t work out what word should have been there, to make the sentence make sense.
Apart from that a good read.

One of my favorites.

Okay so who doesn't love to hate a certain a$$hole in a book. You really want to dislike him but there's just something that keeps you there hoping he will some how redeem himself. Welcome to Markus's someone, Courtney who is just amazing, talented, confident and super sexy. These two are the best together. Markus does redeem himself from previous books but not so much that he completely changes who he is. Check out Markus you won't be disappointed. ❤
