This book is about God and Demons. The author uses real-life examples to describe how demons are the causes of our daily life issues. There are verses used from the Bible in this book. The author believes that unclean spirits can attach to a person in various ways.
The plot is based on Christianity and Jesus. The author tells that Christians lack the tools necessary for identifying and rejecting the devil's schemes, they leave themselves open to demonic influence and attack. Many people have no idea how much the spiritual realm affects their health, thought process, and daily lives.
"Our enemies are not the people themselves but the spiritual forces who advise and rule them over."
Further, she describes that God is a spirit, so we too are spiritual beings. We are not just flesh and blood. We, humans, share biological, physiological and spiritual realities. We are more than just skin and emotions. However wrecked or broken maybe, but we still reflect our Creator. Demons weapons are hate, jealousy, and outrage. But we can defeat them by love, truth, and peace. The author wants us to partner with God and helps shift the atmosphere of this world. We need to realize that the spiritual realm is very much at work.
We should follow the example of Christ who defeated evil through his love and sacrifice. It is time to take up our swords of the spirit and drive back Satan's armies. In these days when violence is promoted, the sex trade booms, and morality fades, the church must stand up, expose evil, and release the truth. This had been our calling since the beginning and is the worldwide mission of shifting atmospheres.
"Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. (Romans 12:12)"
Man is made up of body, soul, and spirit. The enemy attacks us in all three areas. Sometimes his arrow hit us in our actual bodies and result in sickness or disease. Other times, his arrows target our minds and result in confusion or mental torture. If you want to be effective in spiritual warfare, it requires partnership with God's spirit and his word.
I really like the content of this book. The authors writing is flawless. But the writing process requires attention. There are some punctuation and grammatical errors. This book shows a new path to spiritual warfare and forces around us. It's up to us how will we protect ourselves from evil.
This is my first time when I read a book like this which is solely based on Christianity and Jesus's teachings. But I believe that every religion has the same gist. Kill the evil and follow the path of God. It doesn't matter whether you are a Christian or not this book has something for everybody. I strongly recommend this book. It will equip you with insights, inspiration and the courage you need to live a good life.

This is easily the most practical and insightful book I’ve ever read about spiritual warfare. People will walk away from this book feeling empowered and well-commission into a battle we’ve already won. Usually warfare books promote fear and striving. This one is NOT that. I’m recommending this to anyone wanting to greater understand their spiritual authority!

Dawna De Silva did an excellent job dealing with spiritual warfare in the light of God. God rules and reigns; we have nothing to fear; we press into Him and He gives us the strategies for releasing His victory on the earth.
This book is scripturally grounded, yet accompanied with many practical true life experiences. A great resource and encouragement for those desiring to learn the basics or for those more advanced seeking to gain more understanding in dealing with principalities/rulers. Highly recommended!
Susan Moore did an excellent job reading this book. She is articulate, expressive and communicates the intensity of the subject matter in a forthright manner. Bravo!

What an awesome read! It was hard to put down. I got a clear understanding of Discernment and Shifting Atmospheres. I also received a deep insight on Spiritual Warfare as a whole. Amazing book overall!

Shifting Atmospheres is an eye opening practical book to what it means to live a life that is switched on to the Spirit of God. Often we get stuck in the atmosphere of the places we live, work, or play, but this books teaches us how to identify atmospheres and then release a Kingdom Atmosphere instead

The first half of this book is a basic primer on spiritual warfare, a topic that has been covered extensively by multiple other authors. The second half, however, provides new insights and strategies that I gained a great deal from.

I bought this book some years ago after attending a small conference where Dawna was teaching and it's taken me until now to actually pull it out and read it.
Our fight is not with the world, it might at time really feel like it, but it's the enemy who looks to kill, steal and destroy and he's sneaky, conniving and manipulative in his attempts to sway the people of God off the purpose He's set before them. What this book looks to do is shift your perspective on where to extend your energy in said fight.
We're in the battle of our lives and with chapters such as: 'The Spiritual Realm', Tactics of Enemy', 'Weapons of Warfare', and 'Spiritual Authority' this helps to arm us for the daily battle.
It's not massively heavy so if reading those titles makes you wonder whether you could understand the topic, don't worry, it gives you enough information to as I say shift your perspective and make you wonder, but not heavy enough that you feel like you need a theological degree.
Also, I just love that a woman has written this. Topics like these tend to be shifted over the men to write, and women write mostly on identity and encouragement (absolutely nothing wrong with that, those books are needed), but it's refreshing for it to be written by a woman, but for everyone. She touches on her experiences of being a mother, but this isn't written exclusively for women.
I'm glad I finally picked it up.

I think it’s a great book. Read with an open heart and mind. I like to read spiritual warfare book. Especially ones in which who’s doctrine oppose each other. Although she has so much truth and beauty in her book, it can sometimes seem legalistic and over demonic. Sometimes things just happen, the word also states that our own sinful desires emerge within us too in our flesh. Use discernment while battling and don’t let the accuser get credit for every bad thing that happens. That’s why he’s called the deceiver. The best thing you can do in warfare is be a love struck bride in love with the groom and host the presence. The more consumed you are in intimacy the more you change the atmosphere just by simply being in the room. The only battle I have if you ask me is intimacy. Reaching heavenly places, throwing down air strikes from the throne with God. I suggest you read the Boon Liar by Mark Casto. It’s perfect for warfare if you wanna love Yeshua instead of always looking for demons around every corner.

Difficult review
Blessed is the one who hears the message even when the messenger stands in the way.
I reluctantly admit that I cannot count myself among those after reading this book.
It breaks my heart to give a negative review when the author so clearly does an awesome job in other ways than writing this book. But when scripture is quoted so blatantly out of context (e.g. quoting from the book of Job - from the parts where the friends of Job are wrong - but using the quotes to support her message), and the examples contradict each other or leaves me confused as to what the point is (blaming the devil for aqua planing when going more than 60 mph in severe rain, or a demon taking over a born again Christian just after it is explained that demons cannot do that).
I learned some really useful and relevant things from this book, and for that I give 3 stars in this review.

This books was phenomenal in teaching us how to identify demonic broadcasts and displace them with God's presence and will. It teaches you to pay close attention to what you feel and or sense and how to counteract it by renouncing it, standing on the word, and partnering with God to release what He wants to overturn the works of darkness.

Helps readers identify feelings of evil atmospheres and spirits. Call them out and ask Jesus to rebuke them. I did not give 5 stars because I felt there were too many personal experiences w/ the author’s children that were irrelevant. Good book if you want to determine good and bad spirits and how to give them to the Lord and draw closer to Him.

This book focuses primarily on the importance of connectedness with Jesus, not “algorithms” or rituals surrounding spiritual warfare. I highly recommend for anyone and am profoundly impacted by the insight and supernatural strategies within.

Excellent book! Some was review because I've listened to video teachings from Dawna on YouTube and read her other book Sozo, but there was a lot of powerful points and good tools here! Definitely a useful perspective shift and reminder with some powerful principles easily learned and applied. Highly recommend.

Powerful!
This book helped me to see that spiritual warfare is not some mystical, scary, operation. It is something that we all face and we can change by shifting our atmosphere. We start with ourselves and then let the Holy Spirit lead us to other areas.

This book is a great, especially for those who have just begun their journey in understanding spiritual warfare. There is much wisdom and guidance that can be applied to the everyday. “The battle is not against flesh and blood.” It is very real and it is all around us. If we are willing to learn and grow in our spiritual authority we are handed victory.
