The Overcomer’s Edge is bestselling author Paul Tsika’s newest book, offering solid “straight to the heart” guidelines based on a biblical foundation, as well as proven practical, and clinical strategies to guide the reader toward victory. Paul’s latest book will help AND SO MUCH MORE! If you are ready to walk in the freedom that God has promised to all who follow Him, then this book is for you!
What I love about this book: I really enjoy the organization of information. For each area, the author always provides the reader with great access to overcome the problem: starting with definition, then analyzing the cause, and summing up with the solution. Some of the stories and examples are really emotional and amazing. Quotes from many other authors are cited to illustrate the ideas. This book will help you to rethink about yourself, and remind you some factors required for the better life.
What I don't like about this book: Since I was not Christian, some parts of the book may sound so religious for me. Some of the solutions are highly connected with the belief in Gods, and some are so idealistic to reach to.
My most favorite words in this book: 1. Worry is unnatural. Why? It may sound silly, but plants and animals don’t worry about anything. The only thing in God’s creation that worries (even to the point of physical illness) is people
2. Men rarely choose their future; they simply choose their habits and their habits decide their future!
3. It is critical here that life is less about not doing and more about doing.
A good guide to move into a Overcomers away from defeat.
This book doesn't promise to solve everything overnight if it did you'd better not touch it, but i believe that what Paul has here is a book that can point you in a good direction and i found it very helpful as to life changing then only time can tell. Please don't take that as a put down because it is so far from that i just think that any book or teaching is best measured a year or at least a few months after reading it rather than when it had just been read. There is so much that i have loved and the reminders of what GOD had said i find that a good start for any book. So yes i do recommend this book and think it is a sharpener worth trusting.
I will say it's an engaged and enlightened take on a new chapter using a focused lens.
Never a dull moment being around this guy in person, Mr. Tsika's charisma shines through and gets more than Biblical citing great sources. Amongst them is the rising star to tech, leadership, and overall inspring orator Simon Sinek. Engaging your life with a 'Why' is something that is not new, however here is a fresh take.
Just not big on the last two chapters, but again, if I did not find it helpful, just imagine how helpful it was to several other folks that can relate. I will keep this book on my shelf for a looooooooong time to come...
If it had not been for the last two chapters, this would have been a stretch at two stars. The author ties together many used and tired catch all phrases and goes about as deep as a rain puddle. Scripture is ripped from context and only used to try to prove a point rather than letting Scripture speak first. The last two chapters dealing with addiction are strong enough on their own. You can read those without trudging through the whole book.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and content of this book. If you are struggling with addictions, there is some good insight and principles that you can apply immediately to your life. It's also a book for those that just need some encouragement to fulfill goals that seem out of reach.
This was was a great and impactful book, that covers 13 main categories of life where we can learn to overcome and grow through our challenges. It gives helpful tips to give us the edge we need to win at life as we practice them over time. I would recommend giving this book a read!
A garden variety self-help book with some Scripture thrown in to give it a Christian flavor. Not a bad book but it felt more like a hodgepodge of old lessons clobbered together to produce a book.
If someone gives you a copy, read through it, but maybe shop around if you're looking to buy.
This was a good Christian Bible Devotional study that addressed different areas of life, from overcoming our, past, fear, and even addictions -- from both perspectives. Recommended.
Outstanding approach to living the kind of life that Jesus has promised us that we can live. Important clues as to how to get out of negative ruts and live victoriously in every area of life.
This bok was well written and drew from a wide variety of force material both scholarly and biblical. Anyone looking for strategies on how to improve your daily life with biblically based practices should read this.
