I loved this volume so much. Not only is everything I wished, romantically fulfilling speaking, from a shoujo manga, but it starts tackling the subject of adulthood, and it does so in a very kind but realistic way. Really hit me hard, because even if I am in university, the notion that I need to choose a path in life, and eventually let go of the people around me and that are such an integral part of my day, started haunting me once again. So yeah, I could really emphasize with the feelings of the characters in this volume, and I love that Mizuno sensei is tackling these topics as well. Really excited to see where the story will go ~
It’s certainly a volume of Rainbow Days. It’s nice that things finally come to a head between Natsuki and Anna, but for the amount of time it took I feel like the payoff could have been a little better. It is fine and that’s where it starts and stops.
Just like everything else. The slowly dawning realization that this phase of life is drawing to a close that starts to creep in at the end makes this have a heft it has not really had to this point, but it doesn’t make a major difference or anything.
Yukirin and Tsuyopon continue to be the best couple; these are two people who absolutely understand one another, even if Tsuyopon is not the best at showing his affection. But it’s very clearly there though. Their quiet moments are my favorite parts of the volume.
There’s just something about this that has never clicked for me and it might be that it isn’t terribly funny, despite its efforts, or that it exists in a hazy middle ground between being very grounded or incredibly wacky that does it no favours.
Yet, yep, I am still here. I’ve resolved to see this one out because I do derive some enjoyment from it, but I would be lying if I said this didn’t largely function like ginger at a sushi restaurant for me in terms of my manga reading.
Ugh I really enjoyed this series in the beginning but now ??? I don’t like that it took 13 (out of 16!!!) volumes for Natsuki to confess to Anna. WHYYYY?! The mangaka has always focused on these two and definitely dragged it out. Now, they get together and I’m like big whoop? Who cares? They are the most boring of the couples!!! LOL. And what disappoints me the most is Matsunaga and Mari’s “relationship “… They were my fav couple to root for and they get together, just to have her still be so mean to him!!!! I know that that might change before the end but it’s so close to the end??? Does it even matter? *sigh* But at least the friendships are doing fantastic!!!!
The pacing at the beginning with Natsuki was glacial. And, yeah, the big moment didn't really reward us for the time we waited. But it was sweet. The rest of the volume is pretty much slice of life stuffs. It seems that the extreme personality traits these boys had in the beginning have fallen away. They're all still different, but they're also more the same than they were. I'm not sure if that's character growth, author growth, or just how the story evolved. Characters tend to have minds of their own.
Natsuki finally confessed and that whole drama is behind us. The relationship between Mari and Matsugun has a bit developed too, and Keichi is finally thinking about the future.
huhuuhuhuhu from the end of the summer festival to their camping trip,, their friendship and romantic moments were so sweettttt. i am going to miss themmmmm
