His Mistress with Two Secrets by Dani Collins is the 2nd book in the Sauveterre Siblings quartet.
I haven't read the 1st and I don't think I will in the future...firstly, it's about desert sheiks....which I've gone off...and also the reviews haven't been that great!!
I didn't feel the need to read book 1 and this book can be read as a standalone quite well.
So this is Henri Sauveterre's story. He's been in a relationship with Cinnia Whitley for two years and both enjoy the time they spend together...........he has been honest with her from the start...that he will never marry and she agrees to that stipulation.
But she wants more from their relationship and when he tells her that he cannot expect anything from him, she ends their affair.
Cinnia discovers she's pregnant with twins and is trying to find a way to tell Henri about it - she knows that he does not want to have any children ever after what happened to his sister.
I fell in love with these two characters. I adored the interaction between the two with some really witty dialogue.
The secondary characters were just as engaging. I am looking forward to Ramon and Isadora's story and also curious to know more about the other Sauveterre sister, Trella.
The story line is unique and fresh and I really liked it.
Dani Collins writing style makes it for easy reading. Her characters are always likeable and relatable.
If you love romance and HEA............this is a book for you.

Dani Collins is so freaking talented with an intuitive manner of telling the best love story, all within the confines of a fifty thousand word HP world.
I love this series about the Sauveterre twins; likewise Henri and Cinnia's story.

The 2 stars are for the heroine, who was REALLY really and i mean REALLY strong.
She didn't melt everytime the hero touched her, even if she did, she retreated remarkably well.
She knew what she wanted, and she held her ground.
Hero on the other hand was disgusting. Just because he refused to see logic, doesn't make the logic invalid.
1. To the question heroine asked "do you love me" his answer was
“If you’re looking for a proposal—”
“I didn’t ask if you wanted to marry me,” she had interrupted sharply, hiding that his attitude stung like a scald. “I asked if you loved me.”
“And the reason you’re asking is because you want to change things between us.” He hadn’t even looked up from whatever he was reading on his tablet, like this was a tiresome conversation. “I told you I’d never marry you.”
and then he let her go. The ONLY reason he sought her back was because she was pregnant, not my word, his. He would NOT have looked her up, he would have let her go, he only proposed and wanted her for the babies. So forgive me, if I don't much care for him.
2. He thinks she is punishing him for what men has done to her in the past,
“Are you trying to make some kind of point? Damn it, Cinnia, are you still trying to prove something to a man in your past who has nothing to do with me?”

3. So heroine decides to break it down for this hero who was clearly brain damaged for being dropped on the head one time too many during childhood:
“Do you want to marry me, Henri? If I wasn’t pregnant, would you even be here right now? If I had ended things purely because I wanted to marry and have children, would you have crossed a street to even say, ‘Nice to see you’? No. So, no, I’m not being perverse. Yes, this has everything to do with you."
4. Then he's so mad because she didn't recognize his snowflake status and hurt his feelings by not accepting a paycheck for being his mistress and she shouldn't be mad that he let her go when she asked.
“I didn’t think I had to ask why you wanted to leave, chérie. You told me why. You’re not allowed to hate me for letting you go when you said it’s what you wanted. I’m not a barbarian. I wasn’t going to keep you against your will.”
Laughter burst out of her. “Really? Where am I now? With how much choice?”
He folded his other arm across her, splaying a hand over the babies he would protect with his life. “You could have been honest. You decided to make this hard by not telling me.”
Frust-fucking-ation! Boogie! How attached are you to your skillet? May I borrow that to bring the point home to this pathetic manchild that IF she told him she was pregnant and he asked her to stay it would have meant EXACTLY what it means now. HE. ONLY. WANTS. HER. FOR. EITHER. SEX. OR. BABIES. NOT. FOR. HERSELF. NEVER FOR HERSELF!
5. Aaaaaaand to finish it of, he CONFIRMS what both heroine and I suspected he would NOT have sought her out if it wasn't for the babies.
"he wouldn’t have gone after her without the pregnancy as incentive."
Wait, also he agreed to his brother's idea that Cinnia knew that he'd take the responsibility once he knew about the pregnancy and would marry her eventually!
“I thought we signed a blood oath not to have children.” Ramon was a master at affecting a light attitude, but he was far from as shallow as he pretended. His voice was dry, but his expression grave.
“This isn’t entrapment.” Henri grimaced. “It’s an old-fashioned slipup. She left because she was trying to spare me.”
Ramon dismissed that with a wave of his hand. “Pah. It doesn’t matter if you didn’t ask for the responsibility. We would never leave one of our own at risk. She must have known you would step up.”
“Oui.”
OUI????? DID you just say OUI to THAT vile allegation you dumbhead?
And to top it all off: one of my most hated tropes! The declaration and avowal of love only when one of them is returning from death! I have said it a hundred times in the past, and I'll keep saying it. If it takes something as drastic as death for you to realise you love someone, your love is useless, or it actually wasn't there to begin with. It's panic, it's guilty conscience, it's oppressed passion and a hell lot of other things. But it sure as hell isn't love, or anything worth considering returning as a feeling!.

2.5 stars rounded down because the Hero and his twin were pulling for sex at the beginning and that was skeevy. Once the H/h began their relationship it improved.
So can you guess what her two secrets were?
Go on. Guess. The hero is an identical twin. It's a series about twins.
Give up?
She's having twins but she left him because he told her he would never marry or have children.
I've read this story line before. But that's okay. The author created some freshness with the way the heroine's pregnancy is discovered, the glimpses into the heroine's family, and her use of the heroine's strawberry allergy.
I wish the two brothers hadn't been so skeevy at the beginning - it would have been a much stronger story.

This story is about Henri and Cinnia.
Normally I love Dani Collins books but I took exception with three of the four books. I was disappointed to say the least and was not fond of this series.
So why did I not care for this one, you may ask?
1) This story was all over the place. Present Day ~ The Evening Henri and Cinnia Met ~ Their Two-Year Affair and how it Ended ~ Back to Present Day again which is several weeks to a month after the first Present Day. It wasn't until Chapter Five that we get to the heart of the story and that is at 39%. That is a heck of a lot of back stories! Too much for this reader.
2) You have to suspend belief when you learn why our hero and his twin have made a pact never to marry or have children. You see, their younger sister had been kidnapped many years ago (they got her back) so neither brother will marry or have children because it would place too much of a burden on them to have to keep them safe since they seem to spend their lives keeping their mother and two sisters from harm. Let me not be remiss in telling you that each one of them has bodyguards on them at all times. The women wear personal alarms disguised as jewelry.
3) Cinnia and Henri have been having an affair that spans two years. He told her upfront that he would never marry her or give her a child and he is beyond adamant. He tells her that when she decides she wants those things he will let her go to find what and who she wants. When she discovers, after a week of being ill, that it caused her birth control to be ineffective and that she was pregnant she asked him if he loved her (without telling him why.) Just a simple question. She didn't ask for committment or marriage just 'did he love her.' He lets her know she has all she will ever get from him so she breaks off their relationship. She didn't want to add to the demands he already placed on himself by being the family guard dog.
4) Fifteen years after his sister's kidnapping the family continues to live in chronic fear as though it happened yesterday which has gravely hampered the healing of the once-kidnapped sister.
5) I also struggled with how cruel Henri was to Cinnia when he found out she was pregnant. He acted as though she got that way all by herself. He took no responsibility at all and only demanded marriage to keep her and his children safe .
SAFETY: They were both celibate during their months apart. Henri did date...because he felt that was the only way to protect Cinnia now that she was on her own. That excuse didn't make any sense to me.
I doubt I will read any more in this series.

That was a hard book to read. I hated the H for at least 60% of the book but he won me over at the end. I like the siblings too and can't wait to read their story. Maybe not Ramon. He sounds like a pig. And it was funny that the H and his twin brother always seemed to show up in the same clothes.
Really enjoyed the ending for sure. Just have to ignore the Hero's a$$hat moves. I just wanted to choke him. In the end he did redeem himself as I said but it took a while.

Although this had a lot going for it, it ultimately underwhelmed me.
The good:
Cinnia, the heroine is, more or less, a strong heroine. She falls for Henri who is a twin, and they have a one night stand. Then another one.
Points for Cinnia’s sisters and mother. There was a hint of madcap mayhem along the lines of
with the family that I would have enjoyed to read more of. The mother starts off pretty annoying then turns into a real mother. Still annoying, of course since she is a mother, but at least supporting her daughter.
The not so good:
The hero. Yep, Henri is kind of a creep. For starters, he and his identical twin Ramon show up at the costume party. When the h first sees him/them they are dressed identically with in 20s garb with fedoras tilted over the same eye. Barf. It’s gross enough to see grown women dress identically, but brothers. Star retraction right there.
Did I mention he is French? HP French heroes are never very good. They are less about slut-shaming and revenge as they are just cold. Reminds me of the scene in "French Kiss" when Meg Ryan says to Kevin Kline, You're French, aren't you!
At least he’s not a blonde French hero. More than I could handle.
Henri is a trouser snake. He bloody well inner monologues about how greedy the heroine might be as he plots to get her in bed. Or in their case up against the wall. I can buy a ONS, but ick.
Things improve as the couple move into a relationship of sorts if you count him telling her, “I will never marry you!”, and then she moves in. Okay, I guess it’s good that he’s honest.
She finally gets fed up and pregnant. Leaves. Because he has so much more family drama and backstory than Oedipus, he finds out about her “two secrets” from a third party. When he sees her he makes it clear he isn’t happy.
Too much back and forth and milk-toast emotion from the hero to buy it.

An okay read. The hero was a little to bland/blind for my tastes. I wasn't fond of the structure of the book with the long flashbacks etc. It also lacked a little in intensity for my tastes in this kind of book.

I read my first Dani Collins book in 2017 and she has yet to disappoint me. She has a way of writing super alpha heroes without them being major jerks and I really like that about her style of writing.
This is the story of Henri and Cennia. After being together for 2 years, Cinnia breaks up with Henri because she is pregnant and doesn’t want Henri to find out. Cinnia isn’t cruel or heartless and neither is Henri. Henri made it plain from the start of their relationship that he doesn’t want marriage or children. He has a sad and traumatic backstory involving kidnapping and fears putting someone in danger. Henri is not some crime boss or gangster. He is simply an extremely rich, handsome and successful man who the paparazzi follow everywhere. Due to the paparazzi and the kidnapping background, he takes his and his siblings security extremely serious and doesn’t want to expose a wife and children to that life style. Everywhere Henri goes, his bodyguards go. Cennia has her own sad background involving different circumstances. Both Henri and Cinnia’s current way of thinking is based on their backgrounds, and their reasonings I consider to be completely plausible.
My one complaint with this book is when Henri and Cennia first met at the beginning of the book. It was obvious that Henri and his brother were on the prowl to meet women that night and I found the brothers shallow and gross. Thankfully I continued to read the book and ended up liking both brothers and their earlier behavior in the book didn’t match their personalities at all, at least it definitely didn’t match Henri’s personality. Dani Collins is a great writer and storyteller and she’s becoming one of my favorite “go to” authors. Very well written story that I give 4 well deserved Stars to. You’ll enjoy this book!

I like Dani Collins, she’s very good and her books are always very well written (for hp standard) there’s enough inner dialogue and action and some angst. In this one the hero deserved to be beaten on his thick skull repeatedly, maybe he improved his IQ. He doesn’t want commitments like wife and children so when he starts seeing our heroine, he’s very clear: no strings attached! Everyone is free to do as he pleases, so I think he was entitled to have his opinion about how he would live his life, and the heroine was free to accept or to refuse. She accepts. Nature of course thinks differently and after some months she finds out she’s pregnant. Instead of telling him ( it takes two to do certain things) she asks him if she is free to leave and he answers that of course she is. This level of miscommunication makes me cry. Mr genius of course can’t understand what’s under his nose, how can he understand that the heroine wants to tell him another thing? Some months later he accidentally finds out she’s pregnant. With a finesse that even a jellyfish could do better he is angry with her, but we rejoice because she has a surprise for him: she is expecting twins. So much for not wanting a family. They get married and she’s unhappy because she knows he doesn’t love her ( and we readers know too) but eventually, when she risks her life because of an anaphylactic reaction he understands he has always loved her. No, I don’t think so. He didn’t love her and even if his past trauma could lead to excessive worry and to avoid committing I never saw a real love for her, or for his babies. Anyway I recommend it because it’s a safe and entertaining reading.

It's also whett my appetite for the Ramon's and Isadora's love-hate story and Im curious about the mysterious man who fathered Trella's baby. I am speculating he is known. Happy to know Angelique married her Beau.

Oh yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...
I loved this book. I'm ready to re-read it and I just finished it yesterday.
Did I know Dani Collins was so good? Geez. Her heroes are WICKED SEXY.

Despite that I haven't read book 1 in this series, I decided to give this book a whirl first with this being book 2 out of 4 of the series, which ever since I learned what it was to be about I wanted to read it.
I have to say that I wasn't disappointed and actually kind of loved with the fact that I marked nearly half the book with memorable and favorite moments. I think there less not marked than was as matter of fact. It just pulled me in and pulled at my heartstrings with all the intense emotional happenings going on.
A lot of that was due to Cinna's emotional roller coaster that she went on with Henri, and how my heart broke for her at times. She didn't want to get involved with Henri, but couldn't ignore the insane chemistry that they had going on. Even though she knew it was a bad idea, she agreed to be his mistress. And lasted for two years so of course feelings develop and she fell in love with him, but despite her feelings he didn't seemingly return those feelings so she ended the relationship knowing pregnant. The agony commenced and just all the pain that went with it. And it was painful. I sure felt it, and believed it. She believed he never cared for her except for a bed buddy and nothing else. It pained her that she had all these feelings for him but didn't get back in return, and she was reluctant to go back to that type of relationship when they reunited. It hurt too much for her. And I don't blame her for her reluctance at first, seeing it from her point of view. She didn't want to not feel his equal because she thought that would make her weak. Plus she felt like she wasn't good enough for him and that was why he withheld his feelings and kept an emotional wall between them.
So I loved that journey that she went through no matter how painful it was. It was great for me as a reader because it just brought so much emotionally. There were lots of intense moments. There were angsty moments. It was just the type of journey where there was a lot friction and a lot of back and forth between them. It made the story very engaging and very interesting. Kept my eyes glued on the page. It hate to say this but I really enjoyed all the painful blows in the story, but know full well that it make story that much more satisfying when the happily ever after finally came. It was totally worth it in the end. I loved. I love painful reads that become happily ever after. It just makes it stronger and so much more powerful and meaningful in the end when it's not easy and has been worked on hard in order to achieve that happiness. It can't be too easy or to far fetched where it's beautiful. There needs to be some pain and hurt before the happiness. And that was what I got from Cinna and Heri's story.
A few more notes on this story. First all what Dani Collins did was make me not car that the first time scene between Henri and Cinna was a one night stand/casual hookup/sex with a stranger where both characters were driven by lust and couldn't help themselves. I hate that type of trope with passion, and it bothers me greatly. There have only been a handful of stories with this of trope that I didn't mind and could over look. That was the case here, but usually I am turned off by the trope. So Dani Collins did a good job here. I think it was because they didn't just jump each other right away and there was so build up there. The build up lead to great frisson and anticipation between them. I could feel the sparks come off the page, and it felt very genuine and natural not contrived like sometimes it can feel in this trope. It was opposite of that I felt their connection and knew they would have a passionate relationship. And that first time was pretty hot I have say. It didn't turn me off that was for sure.
Something that was unique about this story was the format of it. It started off with a prologue with Cinna going to the doctor to see if she was expecting twins or not. She ran into Trella, Henri's sister at the clinic with bodyguards in tow for Trella. Neither woman wanted Henri to know that either of them were pregnant yet so they vowed to keep each other's secrets. Then after that scene it went back to two years ago and basically how Henri and Cinna met and how passions flared between. It also showed how Cinna agreed to be his mistress. Then it fast forwarded to the present again where Henri learned she was pregnant, which lead to them reuniting. The story went from there. What I really enjoyed was Dani Collins going back in the past and showed how their relationship began. The past too quite a few chapters and almost 100 pages in the book. It gave a solid background not only of their relationship but them as characters and how much they were drawn together and they couldn't just ignore this insane chemistry between them. Though she tried to struggle against it but wound up loosing yet winning in the end. The foundation was really good and gave backbone to the story before forwarding to the present and the challenges from them. I thought it was a very smart decision on Dani Collins part. Usually the past would be a blip in the story and nothing more. But having it this way I could see the foundation of their relationship and knew that she was not just his mistress even if she thought it was that type of relationship.
Another part I really fell in love with and really, really touched my heart was the part about the jewelry or more his explanation of it. In the present she accused Henri of nothing but sex and jewelry and nothing more in the past, which angered. Then he explained for every piece of jewelry that he bought for her was because he wanted to give it to her because it made him think of a special moment they shared in their relationship. There was a bracelet that he gave her that had a bunch of different colors gems embedded in it and the piece was called fireworks. They made love right after the fireworks their time. He gave her this pendant right after she bought her business and apartment because he was proud of her and what she accomplished. Then there was their first trip to New York where he brought he an anklet because of a running joke between them where she didn't get why women were so obsessed with shoes because she never was. He wanted her to remember their special time in the city. All the jewelry he gave her was in hopes that she remembered the special moments that they shared and remember whenever she wore the piece. It was such beautiful and special detail in the story that is rarely done these days in romance. Those gifts were really representations of his love her. He may not have be able to say in words but he said it in actions. It showed how special she was to him. He just give her random pieces of jewelry but something that would invoke memories for her and have meaning for her. She didn't see it that way until he explained it to her, but the point is the gesture was there. It was sweet. It was tender. It made me love Henri, and it was romance at its core. It was so special. It was great. I loved it. I wished that these type of things happen in romances more because this is what romance is meant to be. It left me swooning. I need more swooning in my life.
Their chemistry was really good. The love scenes were passionate and intense. I've read sexier love scenes in the past, but these love scenes were no where disappointing. They fit the story really well I thought. There was a lot of passion but they also had this draw of connection between them. They were intense and emotional. The last few showed the closeness between them. And I loved all those moments even just little things like him holding her. Those were some of the most beautiful moments between them. In fact holding in general gets me and makes me all warm and toasty in side. The lovemaking was good but if it didn't have the balance between emotional and physical it wouldn't have worked for me. It was the perfect balance. And it just made it more satisfying for me. It also made me believe in them as a couple and root for them, which is very important to me in a romance.
Bottom like I loved this book. Everything really just worked in perfect harmony and had a good balance to it. I loved the intensity, the angst, the closest they shared, the passion and everything in between. I don't have a single complaint. Just everything flowed effortlessly. I loved Henri and Cinna together and thought they played off of each well. They fit. It was fun yet emotional ride for them and for and I loved that. So much good tension and loving go on. This will reread sometime in the future, and I am really looking forward to that.
I hope the other books in this series are just as good as this one because I am definitely intrigued with all the siblings. Hopefully they will beautiful love stories like this one.

Henri is the Sauveterre hero in this book and while they can be read as stand-alones I highly recommend reading #1 to get the full experience of the feels this book delivers.
Henri and Cinnia have an wonderful long term arrangement going on, or so Henri thinks until Cinnia all but disappears in Book 1. Book 2 picks up in the BEST way, of which I wont share here to spoil the surprise but the set up for another sibling's book is brilliant! Henri finds out about the two secrets and a wonderfully intense, humorous and engaging story ensues.
I adore these two stories because I love how books link. For example in Book 1 Cinnia posts all her jewellery back to Henri, it's mentioned via other means, but in Book 2 you learn more about the jewellery being returned and what each piece meant to Henri when he gave it to Cinnia. I must say too that this part was very emotional.
I love how Dani tries to make her stories as unique as possible so I really appreciated what happened to Cinnia medically and thought it was a great way to create tension and drama.

I loved this Harlequin Romance. Worth every penny. Henri--I'm pronouncing it in French and failing miserably--and Cinnia kept me well entertained. I really enjoyed the writing and will definitely look into the author's other books.
I didn't realize this was part of a series, but it wasn't an issue for me at all. I plan to complete the series because the The Sauveterre Family has me hooked. The series revolves around two sets of identical twins--2 brothers and 2 sisters. This was Henri's story. Henri was a dreamboat<3 I can't wait to read Ramon's book!

2.5*. This wasn't bad, easily a 3* if I hadn't been bored by the end. I like the premise, H wont marry because of whatever...it doesn't have to be too plausible, just something reasonable. Similarly the h had issues but her's were sooo much less than plausible and her past relationships were constantly being shoved at us. That aside it was like connect the dots, but unlike old school H's, this H wasn't cruel and hence little or no angst. And we got introduced to all sorts of characters that make up this clan so plenty more books to come then.

Alright, let's begin with the fact that this book isn't going to be your typical I'm-an-asshole-who-got-you-pregnant-and-now-i-need-to-marry-you troupe.
There's a prologue, two years ago, and present day section so you kind of see where the characters are in different points in their lives as well as seeing the type of relationship they have. Instead of meeting you for the first time and banging you and leaving you pregnant, the relationship spans over a greater amount of time, making it more realistic.
With that being said, the story also kind of fell flat in a way because there was not that much heat or passion. Dani Collins focused a lot on other characters because this is part of a quartet which means if we don't know the other people now, we won't give a shit about the rest of her books.
I'm giving this a 3/5 instead of a 2/5 because while average at best, it got very emotional towards the end. I thought Dani did a great job at writing confessions, making them filled with desperation and panic that made me believe I was the girl and he was my husband.
Pick this one up!

The book I've been waiting to reread. To gain pleasure as well as post a review! Book Two of The Sauveterre Siblings, this was my first read by Dani Collins, which made me a fangirl of her writing.
The story starts with a prologue where Cinnia Whitley is at the clinic to confirm her suspicions. Not about the pregnancy, of course, but that she was having twins. She is twenty-two weeks away from giving birth and however much she wants to forget Henri Sauveterre, she's scouring online for news about him.
The first thing that struck me again was the close bond that the Sauveterre's share. Cinnia bumps into one of the Sauveterre sisters and as they say, what follows is the story. Starting with two years ago, when Cinnia was trying to get a foothold in the wealth management industry. When she met Henri for the first time. The story goes on in the past for almost half of the book before it returns to the present.
There's a Pride and Prejudice mention and I wonder if there will be any other 'Bennet sister' stories. Cinnia has three sisters, Priscilla, Nell, and Dorry. Henri and Cinnia's first interaction is quite memorable. And that the story took its time with their past was wonderful. She started as a wealth manager in the 'final wishes' department of life, which provided quite the fun angle to the narrative. Their 'two can play at this game' vibe going strong.
This is what I call dramatic romance. Cinnia with her values is like a breath of fresh air for the jaded Henri. It's been three months since they separated but he couldn't get her out of his mind. Henri being the figurehead of the family after their father's death, the invasion of privacy by the paparazzi, and his fears regarding the same where is children are concerned, is one of the highlights of the story. Henri is so understanding, that is what made me love this book in the first place. Oh, he was stubborn at times but had his heart in the right place.
Isidora and Ramon get their own little banter here, in front of Henri and Cinnia. Can't wait to read Bound by the Millionaire's Ring - their book - next! I love when an author links her present book's characters to their previous ones. Like Henri and Cinnia attend Paolo and Lauren Donatelli's red carpet event, who are the protagonists of Collins' Proof of Their Sin. Along with them are Vito and Gwyn from Bought by Her Italian Boss. Vito is Paolo's cousin.

This is the second in the series. I don’t have the first but it didn’t impinge on my understanding of the story. There are four siblings and four stories and a lot of overlap in the time frames.
This is the story of Henri, the eldest of the male twins. Because of his feeling of responsibility for his siblings, and a sense of guilt over the kidnapping of his sister, he is determined never to marry or have children.
Until he meets Cinnia, he’s maintained only casual relationships but he makes her his mistress with the understanding she can walk away if she wants.
Then she becomes pregnant.
I really enjoyed the struggle between Cinnia who wanted to be loved and Henri who was determined not to bring any more people into danger.
The ending was satisfying.

Excellent romance if you can get past how they met - the twin H and his brother dressed up identically at a party including suspenders and hats tilted to the same side 🤣 and entered the party together in grand style going down stairs 🤣 and h fell in insta lust. Just weird.

This was a strange story and I really had to suspend disbelief for much of it. I notice some of the reviews really criticise the hero, Henri and whilst there were certain things about his behaviour that I disliked - I mostly liked him. It was Cinnia who I found irritating.
But first - the structure was confusing. Present day, then 2 years ago and then back to present day but with a little side journey to a few weeks ago and back to the present. That was unnecessarily distracting.
I thought the way Cinnia was presented - made it difficult to accept she would suddenly lose all self control to go against her instincts and have sex up against the wall. That she would then become Henri’s mistress struck me as odd but not altogether unbelievable. What I found very difficult to accept was that their relationship continued for TWO years without there being any change in their emotional relationship. That just struck me as totally unbelievable. Two years of growing intimacy and developing a relationship would have changed their relationship.
I didn’t like the way Cinnia set Henri up to fail, in respect of the pregnancy/love question. I didn’t like the fact she didn’t tell him he was about to become the father of twins and I definitely did not like the way she treated him after he found out. I did not find her to be a strong and feisty heroine as other reviews have stated.
I thought she was petty, miserable and unreasonable. The scene where Henri tackled Avery over the phone, just showed Cinnia to be stupidly and stubbornly stupid - not Independent.
I am all for women having agency and being strong, but Cinnia’s behaviour was so ridiculously over the top. Henri’s analysis of their partnership made total sense to me but clearly not to her blinkered stance. She was so frustrating and I felt her stance was manufactured purely to fulfil the story arc, rather than reflecting a realistic relationship.
I liked the ending and the epilogue but the journey there was torturous and unreal.
Nonetheless, it was an enjoyable story in many places, and there really were some lovely bits in it but I know this author is capable of much better.

What happens you put a very independent heroine and a very protective and controlling hero together, well in a story written by the wonderful story teller MS Collins you get a story you won’t want to put down because their journey to a HEA is filled with ups and downs and is very sensual and exciting.
Henri Sauveterre is an identical twin and comes from a family of identical twins that is dogged by the paparazzi wherever they go this all from a terrible event that happened years ago and has made Henri decide that marrying and having children will never happen to him keeping a family safe is hard work, so one night stands is all he wants that is until he meets the beautiful Cinnia Whitley at a party and sparks fly between them like the fireworks they are watching.
Cinnia is a very independent Lady she has been let down by men before and this has shaped her life, she works hard at her job and does not really date once bitten twice shy but when she meets the famous Henri well let’s say that her heart will be lost to him. Their very sensual relationship has a stipulation added to it and when Cinnia asks the question of Henri things turn around but Cinnai leaves with a couple of secrets.
Truly this is a fabulous story so many emotions flying off the pages I love this family and Henri is just so protective and Cinnai so independent that their relationship is fraught with so many emotions, they are both such passionate people there will be lots of sighing throughout this story one you will want to read in one sitting and believe me you will relish reading this one. I do look forward to the other sibling’s stories. A fabulous story that should not be missed.

This is the second book in Dani Collins Sauveterre Siblings quartet.
Like the first book, His Mistress with Two Secrets captures your interest from page one. You are instantly drawn into the world the author has created. I cannot gush enough about every detail in this impressive, absorbing read. The thing I adore about Dani Collins’ writing style is that she always adds that extra bit of flair, infusing her writing with picturesque details that sets your mind to work—bringing the story to life. Rich with detail, dialogue, family dynamics and drama…this story is bound to keep you riveted.
I found Henri to be protective and logical—because he is the eldest—but mostly because he doesn’t want to risk his heart getting broken. Cinnia on the other hand is as smart as a whip, knows exactly what she wants and will do whatever it takes to get it. Seeing her and Henri grow from start to end had me rooting for their HEA. Though they were both ignorant at times, I still think the ending of the book justified why they should be together at long last.
Cinnia Whitley has ended her affair with Henri Sauveterre due to Henri’s commitment phobia. Cinnia wants more in her relationship than what Henri is ready to offer, however, things get complicated when Cinnia discovers she’s carrying Henri’s babies. Though the spark’s still there between them, will Cinnia finally be able to tell Henri her secret and how would Henri react? Will he jump into his new role as a father with gusto?

His Mistress with Two Secrets by Dani Collins is the second book in the Sauveterre Siblings quartet and this is Henri’s story. I absolutely adore Dani Collins writing style, it is such an effortless read and she makes me fall in love with the characters.
Since his sister’s childhood kidnapping and his father’s passing away, Henri has taken over as the protector of the Sauveterre family. Not an easy task by any means, he’s seen what can happen when he is not vigilant! When he met Cinnia he told her upfront that he will never marry her and for two years he was perfectly happy with the status quo, until Cinnia abruptly ended the relationship. When Henri discovers Cinnia is pregnant he immediately demands that she marry him. Fatherhood was not in his plans but he will do anything to protect his growing family.
This is a must read for any romance lover!

This book was so much better than “Pursued by the Desert Prince”, the first book in this series.
Cinna and Henri have been an item for two years until Cinna demands to know if Henri loves her. He doesn’t give her the answer she wants so she walks away telling him she is ready for a family.
What Henri didn’t know is that she was pregnant with his babies and she left because he made it clear that children were not in his future.
When he learns the truth he finds her, but winning her back will not be easy because he still won’t give his heart. But a strawberry quickly showed him the truth.
I enjoyed this book. The characters had great chemistry, the sex was hot; especially their first time, and the story was interesting. A good read, especially after the travesty of the first book. Maybe I’ll try that one again in the future. Maybe.

They were together for two years but he told her before they started that he's never love her and never marry her. When she got pregnant, she asked him if he loved her and the response he gave made her walk out on him without telling him she was pregnant with his child. Months later, he finds out and finds her again and tells her they now have to marry for the babies (she had since found out she was carrying twins.) She said no. She told him she'd live with him, allow him to protect his children but she would not marry him because he had told her previously he'd never marry anyone.
