Entropy: Political Intrigue in 2048

Rate this book
Entropy is a speculative thriller set in the London of the very near future where the accepted political wisdoms of today have presaged the catastrophes of tomorrow.

Dylan Sharkey, a civil service desk jockey, is sucked into a revolutionary plot to bring justice to the dispossessed. His mission uncovers a foreign mole at the highest level of the British Government. Continuing his quest may cost him his life. Abandoning it would lose him his humanity.

I am an author with an interest in creating works that challenge "business as usual" thinking through envisioning the ultimate outcomes of contemporary accepted wisdoms. My first novel demonstrates this in the London of the near future where a civil servant is awakened to the injustices and hypocrisies that the UK has sleepwalked into. My, as yet untitled, second novel will to provide similar treatment set in Asia, shedding light on Sino-Japanese tensions through the eyes of a young English teacher in Tokyo.

I am a veteran of the UK media and tech scene and fit my writing around my work and family duties. I currently live in Manchester with my wife and two kids.

Interesting concept and characters, fast-paced and entertaining.

Got this on Amazon and I wasn't expecting that much to be honest - it definitely overdelivered! Like a cross between 1984, a book on the Russian revolution, and a tech thriller, it offers a uniquely British look at a dystopian future that gels in an almost too-close-for-comfort way to the current economic issues. The author is clearly well read/travelled as it blended various factual trinkets into the story.

Great read

I usually don't read this type of book. I bought it by mistake. Read it anyway. Best book I've read in a long time. Couldn't put it down.
