Kealin’s blades still reek from the blood of Vakron-Tur. He defeated the dark wizard but lost his elder brother. The god of death’s voice resonates in his mind and he struggles to control what little of himself that remains. He is close to reaching his sister but with so much lost already, he wonders what end will come from his quest.
Journeying south with his companions, he meets Veora, a beautiful but sadistic necromancer. As an acolyte of the Five and a student from the High Sanctum of magic, she agrees to lead them to her masters. But while this practitioner of death magic knows what Kealin seeks, he senses a presence about her. Something she is hiding. When it comes to magic, is death no more than another path to life or a shadow of a darker and consuming evil?
Many fans of fast-paced sword and sorcery and fantasy adventure, have loved the first three books in the Half-Elf Chronicles by J.T Williams. Do not miss Necromancer’s Curse, the fourth book in the series!
J.T. Williams is again in good form here, offering the reader insane action with bizzare creatures, including a Cthulhu-like Leviathan. Kealin is as cool as ever. More detailed review in Bulgarian here: http://citadelata.com/necromancers-cu...
This is book 4 in the Half-elf chronicles and Kealin is still looking for his sister Arli. He travels with Brethor, Rauk and Jesia the rusis when they meet up with Veora a necromancer acolyte. She takes them to meet the five great wizards who are holed up in the wizard's hold for their own safety. They are given quests to meet in Fadabin a city of many cultures because it used to house the school of magic however the Archwizard is hidden away and the Priestess is no longer there either. Kealin is as usual being used as a pawn by others and it is high time he starts to use his Dwemhar powers as he needs to bring balance back to the world and to the Gods. They travel through mountains and underground tunnels and even through savage seas where they also have a narrow escape when they are attacked by a leviathan. Tulasiro is the hero in this exciting part of the story. This I think was my favourite story yet in this series, the adventure was continuous and the necromancer's do not seem as evil as they were made out to be. Can they all work together to get rid of the real evil which is hounding all magic wielders and taking over the world. The Itsu priest and the protectorate need to be wiped out if magic is to survive in the world! I do hope to see the next book in this series published soon as the story gets ever more intriguing!
Book 4 Necromancer’s Curse - What can I say? The evil is ongoing! A few new characters are introduced which leave me feeling uneasy. My own trust level is truly marked with uncertainty because I seem to second guest anyone new which meets up with Kealin (the main half-elf). I read hoping they prove to be good. Perhaps they are acting on some hidden evil agenda. I do not know. Kealin did accomplish 3 quest/missions of importance. This book was full of private conversations, life threatening dangers, and death. For the most part of the story the major outcome appeared to be positive. Who do I trust is an issue for me. I understand there are so many more missions or quest to be accomplished before this series ends. Again the evil continues to kill on a grand scale. Starting book 5 of what seems like a hopeless situation against evil (the Grand Protectorate).
My favorite character almost died and I about cried. Through out this book I couldn't tell who was on the 'good team' and who had hidden motives, I kept thinking at any moment Kealin was going to get messed over why someone within their travels. My favorite aspect of Kealin is his honesty. Even when he isn't sure of his path, or who to trust, he just speaks in real talk. No pleasantries, just true as he knows it. The ending was a pleasant yet stressful surprise. I look forward to the next tale in Kealins story.
Well not exactly as he left her but he has changed quite a bit too. I can not wait to find out what happens next even though these books lead up to the other series you realize not much of what happened in the past is told in them so unless you read these first you just have to read them to find out why things happened the way they did what lead up to kealin being the way he is as well as breathor
When you get to the point where you feel the need to read the ending and only half way through the story, signals a type of boredom. I can see that Kealin will grow in power. Somehow it seems insignificant. I feel he should be there now, and the next book should be the last.
Success. Kealin has been looking for his sister since she became lost to him in book 1. After all these years of searching he has finally found her, although rescuing her will be an undertaking. And boy is he in for a surprise! Now he and Alri are focused on making the world a safe place for their infant brother.
I forced myself to read 4 of these books and I am done. I did enjoy the first book. After that they could not hold my interest. Kealin always feeling sorry for himself was tiresome.
I'm not a good reviewer but I can say these books are truly great, some of the best in my opinion. From Indie author J.T. Williams! I give him 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 and 👍👍 These books are great grabs you draws you in and holds you there. Does the end justify the means? Can you Fight darkness with darkness?
The action stays fast paced throughout this book. But how will the family fare? "Necromancer's Curse" builds on a solid foundation and leads one to wonder if any family member will make it out alive.
You had to add Werewolves? Kelien is still a strong hero, but selfish. Hopefully with his sister he can learn not to be focused only on his own desires.
Again another fast paced story from J.T. Williams I enjoyed the story line. The author is very good at not repeating scenes so far. There is plenty of Action for the half-Kealin yet again.
The Best in the Series!!! These books just keep getting better! If you have read the rest of the Half-Elf Chronicles be sure to grab this one as it will rock your world. If you have not read the rest, go do it, you are missing out. JT does such a great job of bringing the characters together at different parts and forming them into an awesome group. But in this book they begin to see there is a greater evil that is at work in the world. Time is running out, can Kealin save his loved ones? Such a good read, I highly recommend it!
The whole series starting with the Storm Born saga through the Rogue Elf saga is a good read. There can be some confusion with the characters since there are many and they change out often and it can get confusing as to who’s talking sometimes. I like T.J. Williams having read most of his books and recommend them .
Kealin is getting closer to finding his sister but will have overcome many trials and obstacles. He will have to go up against a lot of creatures and help save some of his friends in the process. Another great book in the series.
