A short and sweet read from the great Piers Anthony. Hair Suite is the second book of a quirky Science Fiction series. Hair Suits, creatures formed from humans and alien specimens, have established an embassy on Earth and soon find themselves dealing with a foreign species that comes with grave news.
As a main character, Quiti was enchanting and immediately drew my attention. I found her easy to relate to and wanted to dive into the realms of her everyday life, and her incredible hair. Anthony's style of writing works to enchant and I could not fault it in any way. He includes a great deal of action and flirting in this tale, along with scenes of a more intimate nature.
Hair Suite pries into the tragic pasts of its main characters and the journeys they've been on, which resulted in them being brought together with their new-found powers. This was a magical tale of a beautiful species that had merged to form something truly unique.
My rating for this book is 5 stars.

“Hair Suite” is a lighthearted and quirky romp through alien convergence on Earth, and exists as a fun sequel to “Hair Power.” However, I found myself disappointed with the frequent sexism in the text. The female Hair Suits and Chip Monks are often characterized through their voluptuous bodies, which are shown to be a favorable improvement over the “plain” bodies they possessed as humans. These women are often naked or scantily clad for seemingly no other reason than to please the male characters, and they commonly obtain their goals through the performance of sexual favors. I enjoy the humor and action in Piers Anthony’s work, but could do without this negative portrayal of the female characters.

More like Xanth than Hair Power
Not a bad sequel but not as good as the first. 3.5 stars if could put that. Some minor errors in some parts (4 instead if 3 people, for instance). Will read last one in series. Hopefully a bit different. Liked the Camry anecdotes here but looking for something different in last novella of series.

Good read! This is the first time I have been exposed to the writing of Piers Anthony. You don't have to read the first one in order to understand what is happening in Hair Suite. It was a rather interesting piece, and I couldn't put it down! It is a great, creative work! It provided entertainment, humor, and science fiction. I enjoyed the species of aliens, and that it was done in a different way than your average alien in a science fiction piece! My favorite aspect of this novel is the wackiness of the adventures in it. The only negative I have is the amount of sexual content. It was more than what I was comfortable with, but overall it was an enjoyable read. If you enjoyed Hair Power, then you'll really enjoy Hair Suite. If you haven't either, you are missing out!

I’ve only read a few of Piers Anthony books, and this one follows exactly as I come to expect from him. The sequel to Hair Power, Hair Suite follows the story of Quiti and her friends, this time teaming up with rivals to save Earth. Aside from the sexism, it’s an okay read. Hair Power is summed up well in the sequel, so don’t fret if you haven’t read it yet and find yourself with Hair Suite.
If you like Anthony’s work, I would suggest this as a nice, light evening read.

Quiti and the gang are back. They have started a Hair Suite temporarily until a building is built. But then Quiti learns that there are endless other aliens out in the galaxy’s. She is approached by Levi and Burn who have Chip Monks that have modified them with alien cyborgs. It seems Earth is in a battle zone between the Chip Monks and Hairballs. Thankfully a friendly competition could determine who controls Earth. But then they get notice of another alien pod that is going to crash on Earth. This one has a plant based alien life but they plan on destroying the Earth. It is going to be up to the group to create more alien hosts and stop the alien plant pod.
I have to say after my nitpicky review of Hair Power that I enjoyed Hair Suite more. All of the alien hosts still had a rough dialog but either I got used to it or it did not both me as much. I liked the idea of a friendly conflict to see who controls Earth but I have to say that all the sex discussed in the book got old.
I liked how the group had to “purchase” their answers and their payment. It expanded this world out with a bit of a chuckle. It seems that the galaxies took more from Earth than I expected. I really liked the behind the scenes and the different support cast. That really worked well. But the ending didn’t really wrap up the story. I’m curious to see what will happen in the next book.
I am reviewing the audiobook. Kristin James narrates Hair Suite and I think she did a beautiful job. I am curious to listen to other books that she has narrated.

The group who make up the Hair Suite triples size but not how you might think it might do this but it could greatly increases their power if things work like they want. That's about all I can say about the book without soiling the story.

Not having read the first book, Hair Power, I was delighted by the accessibility of the sequel. You don’t have to read the first to understand the second; everything necessary is outlined in the short and simple Introduction to the text.
Hair Suite is exactly what you might expect from Piers Anthony: fun, unexpected, and more than a little wacky! I liked this book better than others by Anthony; the plot is not only intriguing but also fairly clever. The characters also felt more dimensional and developed than his usual style; relationships between these characters felt refreshingly natural and established. Perhaps the first book allowed Anthony a longer time to get in the characters head, thereby aiding both of these aspects, which are not usually a strong point in his novels.
Furthermore, I was impressed with the high level world building in Anthony’s novel. Right from the opening scene, the world feels established and lived-in. This is particularly impressive in light of the inclusion of aliens and a world order including both these aliens alongside humans.
Overall, this is one of Anthony’s best works yet. Hair Suite is perfect as either a standalone or the sequel to Hair Power. It’s an ideal quick read that will take you on a wonky and unexpected adventure.

As with Hair Power, I was intrigued by the concept but not necessarily impressed by the storyline. I enjoyed the idea that two different alien species have to work together to defeat another, but I wasn’t a fan of the execution. Once again I think I am thrown by the amount of mature scenes mixed with simple dialogue and actions. I’m left confused as I am not sure how to react. The mix doesn’t work for me.
However, just because I am not a fan of Piers’ writing style in these novels, doesn’t mean others won’t enjoy the light-hearted adventure. I have to give Piers credit for the amount of books he has been able to write and produce in his lifetime. To have a mind that can imagine ideas such as aliens being hair is respectable.
If one is a fan of Piers’ work then they will be a fan of Hair Power and Hair Suite.

Hair Suite, a novella, by Piers Anthony is the sequel to Hair Power. You do not have to read Hair Power in order to enjoy the sequel. If you have read anything by Piers Anthony, you already know his works are witty, humorous and full of puns. Hair Suite most definitely follows in this vain.
The Hair Suits are a small group of people who have been given extraordinary powers by alien Hair Balls. I am laughing as I am writing this, since my image of a hair ball involves cats and vomit. The puns is what makes Piers Anthony’s work so humorous. Anyway, there is another alien power that has arrived on Earth called Chip Monks. The Chips introduce themselves to the Hairs and form a partnership with them to defeat a third alien power that is headed to Earth and could be a major threat to both the Hairs and the Chips. Together they need to eliminate the threat and save Earth for themselves.
As previously stated, this is a humorous light read and typical Piers Anthony. I would go so far as to call Mr. Anthony’s work the slapstick of the fantasy genre. He is poking fun at numerous things and there are a lot of sexual undertones in the book some might find offensive. It is totally silliness and I had a good laugh. If you liked the Xanith series you will like Hair Suite.

Not having read Hair Power, I was glad that I could get immersed in the world of Hair Suite without feeling like I needed to read the first book to understand what was going on. The plot was interesting and kept me turning the pages to find out what would happen. I liked how the characters were well fleshed out as well so it was easy to get inside their heads and see why they view the world in a certain way.
I initially thought this was going to be more of a children's book, so I was really surprised by some of the explicit content. Overall, the author did a great job with pacing and making the world feel lived in.
