Sylvia Milton doesn’t know the first thing about hardware, but she’s about to learn how hard she can fall.

When Sylvia inherits her uncle’s hardware store, no one thinks she can seriously take on the business.

Can Sylvia defy expectations and keep the store afloat?
Is the shirtless, sexy stranger as helpful as he seems?
What the heck is a torque wrench anyway?

Trying to leave the past behind and start fresh is tougher than Sylvia had hoped it would be, but she's happy to trade her hometown Philadelphia for the quiet forests and crisp air of Vermont. And the view is only improved when she meets Sam, a handsome, friendly country gentleman who just happens to have misplaced his shirt. Sam can tell her all she needs to know about drywall hammers, but Sylvia wishes he knew a bit more about screws.

As Sam teaches Sylvia all about hardware, she begins to suspect he’s leaving out some hard truths: about the town, about himself, and about Sylvia’s uncle’s sudden death. When pressed for details on anything that doesn’t fit inside a toolbox, Sam clamps shut. Sylvia’s grateful he can help her build a business, but she wishes they could build a relationship.

The heat between them can melt their knees, but can they melt each other’s stony exteriors? Will Sylvia open her heart for a man she can’t reach or cling to her pride? Either way she’s worried she’s Nailed.

I read this book yesterday and I didn't want to put it down! It was the perfect book to curl up with for a snowy day. I can't recommend this book more. It is a really fun, sexy and sometimes laugh out loud funny.

It is about a woman, Sylvia, who inherits a hard-ware store in Vermont. She knows nothing about hardware but is determined to set out and make a success for herself. In the opening scene, she needs directions and meets Sam.... from their first encounter in this first scene, I KNEW this book was going to be great. Fun, funny and Steamy! I loved all the characters. Sylvia is so independent, smart, resourceful, funny and occasionally awkward. Made me want to start my own business somewhere in a small little town. And Sam is my new book boyfriend. All the supporting characters are lovely too and I hope that there will be more books in the series!

I'll say this:

I don't read romance novels. Or, rather, I had never read one until I read Nailed. I don't think it's a genre I'll be picking up regularly, but I'm glad I've had the experience with it that I did. This is a breezy, fun, and pretty quick read, written by an author who has a playful sense of style. I'm giving it five stars because I had a good time. The book isn't asking it's readers for anything besides to hop on for the ride and enjoy it.

The lead character has enough personality to not read like a cypher, but she's serves as a capable everywoman. I don't know, I'm kind of talking out of turn here, but I think people who are regular readers of romance literature would probably enjoy this one. It's well written, well paced, and very fun.

I had to push myself to get to that far. Did not relate to the characters or story.
