Picking up slightly in the future from where “I Have the Sight” left off, we find Eddie and Derek continuing their fight against demons possessing innocent victims here on Earth. Eddie’s powers are strong, however he can’t help wondering why all of these demonic forces are hinting at when addressing him personally. Eddie eventually uncovers the truth while doing battle with a possessed woman who appears stronger than most others.
What more can I say about these first 2 books from @rickwoodwriter who is easily turning into one of my favorite authors. The series is wonderfully wicked fun, with relatable characters, and a whole lot of nasty demons. Woods’ writing style is engaging, barb wire sharp, and descriptively captivating without drowning his reader(s) with a gallon of bloody useless info.
Everything about book two was spectacular, much like book one. I felt a little conflicted with the ending on this one, not only in the final confrontation, but a loose end during the final pages that was difficult for me to embrace. Hopefully that loose end with rectify itself in further books of the Edward King series.
If you haven’t started reading these books, get off your ass and dive into the pits of hell with Eddie! You won’t be disappointed!
I don't think I've ever read anything quite like this series. It's horrific, it's gruesome, it's hopeful - in some weird human/satanic/nature vs nurture sort of way. Just when I think the story is going one way, it veers off into left field & keeps on chugging along until it's in a totally different ballpark altogether. If you're looking for something different, try this series. You won't be disappointed! Am now off to acquire Book 3...
WARNING: Adult situations and swearing (sorry I did not warn you in the first book)
I could not put it down I read it in one sitting. Edward finds out more about where his powers come from. Of course he gets into hellish situations and deals with it. I like the new characters.
The descriptions about places are great.
If you have a chance to read about Rick Woods here on GoodReads I think you should.
Well today I made the mistake of opening my kindle at work....and got no work done. I could not put this book down, especially once "Kelly" appeared. Knowing Kelly's perception was fascinating. I won't give specifics as I don't want to include spoilers. I am liking Rick Wood! It's so nice to see inside the head of these well developed characters. Now, on to #3.
Eddie King is learning to be the best exorcist alive. The big question is how and why? In the second book of the Edward King series you find out why he has this gift or is it a curse? I love this series and the pace is lighting fast. I love the way Rick Wood writes and he is one of my favorite authors. And this story grabs you and doesn’t let go. Cannot wait to read the next book!!!
BOOK TWO of the series!! Still can't put it down. I have seen some other reviews about the lack of editing and mistakes in this series ( it is self edited and published by the author I understand) but that hasn't really bothered me much at all. Just read it like you found someones diary or journal and pretend they are telling you the story!!
This is the second part of Rick Woods 5 part series, and what a page turner it is. Ricks characters leap off the page as the storyline creeps up your spine and virtually ends up throttling you to death with fear. Descendant of Hell grips you and does not let you go. Part 3 is on order.
What a way to f d out your family secret! I felt horrible for Eddie and Derek yet they handle themselves with great honor. I really was not sure what Eddie was going to choose so now I'm on to book 3!
Another thrill ride start to finish ! You can't stop reading Eddie is an awesome character as well as his friends the plot twist and turns are well written and the story has a great flow loved it
I like this book and where the series seems to be going. Your hero is someone to root for. And the plot is not so transparent. It's a novel idea with unlimited potential. I can't wait to read the next book so I'm going to start now
I’ve been looking for a book about the paranormal that isn’t strictly on the view of Religion. I love these horror books and I plan on reading more of this author’s books. Book 3 is about to start.
Can't get enough of Eddie and his tales of exorcism and demons . Fast paced and sometimes so gruesome It makes your toes curl . Well-written with great characters . Would definitely recommend this series.
The second book in the series was even better than the first. The more I read, the more I find myself getting attached to their characters and their lives. Again, the author does a really great job at building the atmosphere for horror. Can't wait to read the rest of the series!
Really enjoyed can't wait for more from this author I did not st reading each chapter was thrilling filled with suspense I wanted to know what was happening all the time as it kept you on the edge until u finished the book brilliant reading
