Eli D’Amato is content spending Christmas by himself. His children are visiting relatives and it leaves Eli some much-needed quiet time before he gears up for NYE celebrations. When a visit from his acrimonious ex-wife ruins those plans, they have an unforgettable Christmas.
Eli definitely shouldn't have taken Faith back. She was a nasty bish and he could of contracted an std. I feel like the author just wanted some unnecessary drama because she could of left them together initially after the first book with all this back and forth bs. But after all the drama they had I'd of never taken faith back. She lied on Eli made it seem like he was an abusive husband. Then she griped on him gave him all this bullshit about him sleeping with Simone but let Jeremy sleep with every tom dick and harry but that was ok cause she made frequent trips to the obgyn. Then she slept with Darren multiple times after her and Eli reconciled and then sent those fucked up text to Darren about Eli. I was like wtf did I just read??? No this chicke was not a "good girl" or even a good Christian woman and have the audacity to tell Eli she wanted to move her kids out of state for this mofo. Eli clearly grew and was trying to be a better man. Faith was petty on top of petty on top of petty. I'd of never took her back or forgave her ratched ass behavior.
How can he stand her? Immature, materialistic, hoodrat behavior and a cheat. She did all of that after his affair then she turned around with her own and now that they’re divorced she is cheating on her fiancé? The book was very short but the reconciliation was unbelievable and far too quick. 2 years and it took them an evening to sort it?
This is an awesome story. The chemistry between Eli and Faith was steamy and smoking hot! Great end to the drama between Eli and Faith just wish there was more detail to what happened between her and Jeremey. I would recommend this book to all my fellow romance readers!
I am a fan of the D'Amato Brothers series, written by Vera Roberts. This is book 6 in this series and although it was a short book it was a good read. We read how Eli and faith are doing. I found this should have been released after we learned what really happened two years prior to Eli Faith and the D'Amato clan. I Love to see that even with all that took place between Eli and Faith that true love never dies. There was one big problem with the story. With both Eli and Faith in their early 30's Faith was still acting like a teenager falling in love for the first time, tit for tat. She was given the world by her husband but, yet it was never enough. With the book War coming later this year, it will be interesting to read what was the final straw for this very dynamic couple and later to see how the popular but strong family survives.
I've always like that this series was normal. This book did not disappoint. Life is messy, relationships can be even messier. Humans are a flawed work in progress. This series shows the real of a lot of people's lives. Faith can really get on your nerve (we all know a faith) but she's real and she knows she's a work in progress. Eli loves his family and takes responsibility for his actions. He's spoiled Faith and can't seem to stop himself from doing so because he loves her. Because of that he tolerates her idiosyncrasies even if they wear on his nerves. Eli is really kind of a simple guy in love with a woman that's a complete handful, add in children and family members and you get this wonderful series about normal people.
Well...it was a story. The dialogue was a little choppy and I found it to be rather unbelievable. I can't imagine that people in their 30s with careers, families, and responsibilities can act so juvenile. And the fixation on money. Every grievance stemmed from money. And in the end, Faith was still immature, petty, and materialistic. It all just seemed like a scripted reality TV show. Shallow. I really enjoyed the previous D'Amato stories but Faith is a hard character to like and this story doesn't help. Maybe that the character's appeal. Just not for me.
Hooray. I'm so glad Eli and Faith have finally reconciled. It was a long trip in the making, yet a positive end was in store. Great positive closure to a loved and heated couple. Looking forward to reading about them in other books by Vera. Tend to find characters pop in and out from other books. My curiosity is still peaked about paternity of the 2 kids. No matter what though, Eli does come through as the shining Father. 🙂
Eli knows his heart (Faith) and was about to shoot up some folks. Faith and her hurt, insecurities, and anger cost her and Eli two years But there is nothing like praying mother's and family. Loved how Eli checked Faith...#teamEliandFaith all the way.
Eli and Faith were always my favorite couple. They did a lot if wrong to each other and to themselves. They needed the break to realize they were right for each other always. Loved the truth telling. It was time for them to be whole again.
