“The Poison Truth” part five! John’s gotten the djinn off his back, at least for the moment. Now he needs Mercury. As they leave English shores behind, it’s time for a heart-to-heart as Mercury tells John what happened to her while Swamp Thing was battling the Rot.
Simon Oliver was hatched in South London in 1969. Since that date he has consistently strived for mediocrity in a number of fields of employment, from cooking at the legendary Hacienda Club of Manchester in the late 1980's, scuba diving instructor in the planet's more tropical climes, to a career as a camera assistant in Hollywood. With such a spotty and heterogeneous employment record is seemed only fitting that the comic book would industry welcome him with open arms in 2005 for his writing debut in THE EXTERMINATORS.
Surprisingly old school. Yet another example of the fact that Simon Oliver is the man! It was great to learn more about Marj, remember good old Fear Machine arc and hear about what's going on in John's and Mercury's hearts. The pace of this issue may look weird for new readers, but I'm sure old Hellblazer fans will like it.
Also, great news - no more Moritat! Yay, yay and yay again. Can't say I'm a big fan of Pia Guerra, though. I like faces, but backgrounds are awful and often empty, while colors are just a mess. And yet, for me it's anyone, butMoritat. So, I'm somewhat happy here.
This book is what you get when your story’s exposition spins its wheels without doing anything more than burning rubber and creating smoke. I hope where there’s smoke, there is an impending fire!
Im really enjoying this series.Especially when Swamp Thing is involved.I hereby declare that Swamp Thing get his own Rebirth title.Swamp Thing forever Swamp Thing.
