There I was - stormed in with the sexiest bastard in all of Colorado.

MAGGIE DEAN
Landing a personal chef job was my ONE big break. Though, I never expected to come face-to-face with the kinky star of my virgin fantasies.

Tyler Jenner is a sexy billionaire and mountain man - with a RAVENOUS appetite. And he’s packing more wood than all of Colorado. He tells me to serve him meat and potatoes.

Meanwhile he wants to serve me some of his own meat. Can you believe this guy? I’m not biting. I’ve got too much on the line.

This mountain billionaire will have to find another cherry to pop.

TYLER JENNER
When I saw Maggie walk into my lodge, I wanted her right there.

I give her a flash of the mountain monster and she told me to screw off.
She acted like I was some kind of animal. It pissed me off.
Not because she was wrong - I am an animal.
But this animal has women lining up for miles to get a glimpse of the log I’m packing in my jeans.

Before long I’ll own this chef. In my bed. In my bathroom.
In my kitchen – and she’ll be begging me for more.
But if she thinks she can fix this crooked mountain beast’s heart - she’s got another thing coming. I’ve got my baggage and she’s got hers.

I’m not letting a woman interfere with my life.
No matter how much I CRAVE her.

HOW IS THIS ROMANTIC

I have no words here for this book so I thought I would let the book speak for itself here.
Heroine is learning to be a chef and comes to the hero billionaire for a job interview were he proceeds to show her his junk!

When he saw my cock hanging out, he scooped up the towel from the floor and flung it at me.
"Oh for Christ’s sake, Tyler, not the old ‘can I stir your coffee with my cock’ routine again? You know that never works.”
"Sometimes it works,” I said with a shrug, slinging the towel over my shoulder. I scratched my balls and sighed at him.
"You get the trash taken out?”
"Your overnight guest has left, yes,”

So not only did he F*ck some random stripper but he calls her trash. After he did everything with her.
In a word YUCKY!

description

Now, when she tell him off and tells him “Thank you for your generous offer, Mr. Jenner,” I said as I wrapped my scarf around my head. “But I’d rather starve than work for an arrogant asshole like you.”
I am thinking YAY SHE HAS SPUNK!

description

However, the hero was plotting
I just needed Charlie to get Maggie Dean back to the house, then I’d do the rest. She resisted my first offer, but everyone has a price. All I had to do was keep upping the ante and at some point, Maggie Dean would say yes. She would be naked and in my bed and begging me to fuck her.

His end game here is to grasp the one that walked away and showed some integrity.
CAUSE, NO ONE SAYS NO TO HIS MASSIVE DICK!
(yeah he's a massive dick alright)

description

However, I was hopeful when he talks to her and takes her out and about in his Hummer. He seemed to enjoy himself and I am thinking, He does have a soul and He is not just a walking hard-on,
He kills that thought when he thinks this
Then, the little voice in my head reminded me that the goal was to get into her pants; to get her naked in my bed, to get her to succumb to my demands and desires. I’d never been refused by any woman, and I didn’t plan to start now.
And he justified it all in his mind with these thoughts
I had not pulled anything over on her, and if she didn’t want to be here, she wouldn’t be. Maybe you’re not as smart as you think you are, said the little voice inside my head. It doesn’t matter, just shut up and fuck her."

description

So after he gets his way, cause you know he does as these heroine have very little spine or self respect, he is just going about his everyday business.
Cause after all, it's just another pussy and he has important things to do and people to f*ck!

Holy poop, did this book just sucked!
"As I watched her go, I realized that she was right. My father would have been ashamed of me. But I’m not my father. I’m Tyler fucking Jenner, the billionaire mountain man."

You're a Dick is what you ar Tyler Fucking Jenner!
You use and abuse people and the only reason why I gave this book any stars at all was because she left him and not the other way around.
So YAY TWO TIMES !

description

At this point the story gets a little more personal and it does have a nice little ending, but honestly I just HATED THIS HERO WITH A PASSION!
I mean I would honestly tie him up to a bed, pour honey on him and let the bees have a go at him!

Maggie Dean is a young woman struggling to make ends meet while trying to raise her teenage brothers after their mother past from cancer. Tyler Jenner is a self made billionaire new to town & use to getting what he wants. When Tyler interviews Maggie for a chef position in his new household, he crosses the line with inappropriate behavior & Maggie storms out of the interview. But Tyler is set on having Maggie as his chef & in his bed & is willing to pay whatever price needs to be paid to make that happen. Maggie does take the offer of the job when she is told that Tyler will behave himself in the future & that he is sorry for his behavior at the interview. Before long, Tyler & Maggie find themselves snowed in at his cabin & Maggie gives into her desires for Tyler. They spend the next couple of days getting to know each other in the best of ways. When Maggie returns home she comes to find out that Tyler's company has purchased a large portion of the downtown to open a new hotel/resort. She is furious because she feels as if she was used to get this all accomplished. Will Maggie be able to forgive Tyler? Is Tyler even interested in anything beyond his own wants? How will all these changes effect Maggie's world?

This was a fun short romance about two people from different walks of life who find each other & a way to meet each other in the middle. The story & characters are entertaining in this quick read. This book is meant for mature readers.

I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book.

Maggie Dean is barely scraping by when she gets a job opportunity to be chef for billionaire Tyler Jenner. It is the opportunity that Maggie has been looking for but then she goes for the interview with Tyler and ends up walking out.

Tyler is not used to women turning him down and in such a colorful way. Tyler is intrigued by Maggie and wants second chance to get close to her but he knows this time he has to get her to warm up to him. Problem is as he is getting to know Maggie he is beginning to feel something he has not felt before, can this bad boy get his act together or will he lose the best thing that walked into his life.

This was fun, Tyler is a bit of a jerk initially and their introduction with one another is unique and quite funny. Story was a little predictable but if you are looking for a light read this book fits the criteria.

Rock Hard Mountain Man is Hart's debut novel, although it had it's ups and downs, the story was still very much enjoyable to read. At the beginning of the story we get to meet Maggie, after losing her mother to cancer, she has been become the sole taker of her two teenage brothers. Her dream of becoming a chef were also cut short including her dream of having her own restaurant one day. Now she works for a local restaurant in town, but money has become tight and she doesn't know what else to do to provide for her brothers. It is as soon as her cousin tells her that she had gotten her an interview as a personal chef to a wealthy man that Maggie couldn't believe of the opportunity presented to her. Soon she is off to the interview, but the minute she sees Tyler everything begins to change, and the more time they spend with each other the more she started to fall in love with him.

Tyler may be a billionaire, and although it has it's perks, things are different when he meet Maggie. She is kind, brave, and he can't get enough of her. She is all he thinks about and he will do anything to keep her by his side. But soon their lives change when they discover hidden secrets that could end up keeping them apart. Now it'll be up to them to decide if they can move forward with their relationship or walk their separate ways.

Overall, the story was enjoyable to read, the characters and the setting helped the book as a whole. Now one of the things that I didn't like so much at the beginning was Tyler's personality, he is a jerk towards Maggie but he changed throughout the story. Maggie is a hardworking person and really sweet. She has taken a lot for herself, and that alone made her relatable to read. Though the story short and sweet, the ending (resolution) just happened way to fast for me. One minute a character would be confronting the other, and the next everything seems to be find and the end. It all happened to way to quickly in my opinion that I couldn't enjoy the ending at all, especially the epilogue. The story does have potential and it has its steamy/romantic moments that will certainly leave you wanting for more. Needless to say, it's a good story and I will most likely read more from the author in the future. :)

POV: Alternating Maggie and Tyler
Steam Level: Pretty warm
4/5

Rock Hard Mountain Man is a quick and fun romp. I finished this book in literally a day. The writing was fast-paced and easy to follow with very few typos - even in the advance copy I read. Knowing that this was Rye Hart's first (published) novel I was not sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised at how polished and cohesive Rock Hard Mountain Man is. I liked Maggie. She is a fighter - not willing to put up with Tyler's (0r anyone else's) BS. She's doing the best she can with what she has. But she's a little naive, especially when it comes to business. The jury's still out about Tyler.

Overall I feel like the story could have been fleshed out a little more in order to convey the feelings that were building between Tyler and Maggie. If we saw this and the texts that Tyler eluded to then I think that the climactic scene would have been way more powerful and emotional.

I received an advanced copy of this book for free from the author and I'm voluntarily giving an honest review. Some of what I mentioned above may have been changed for publication. Rye Hart seems to be a promising new author and I'm excited to read more of her work in the future.

I cannot believe I paid money for this

First, a warning. The featured story of this book is only a small fraction of the content. The story showed promise, but the heroine whose pluck and backbone that originally make her worth enduring mediocre writing all too quickly dissolves into a puddle of hormonal goo and falls into bed with the hero, who's a womanizing jerk.

Once that story wraps up with all due speed, the book launches into a succession of poorly written novellas and short stories. I finally quit reading when it was stated that women in Charlotte lived in plantation houses, because the city apparently never had indigent neighborhoods. Or, if it did, then women weren't allowed to live in them. Hogwash.

Silly, unrealistic stories further deteriorate beneath the weight of rampant passive voice, TSTL heroines, improper capitalization, faulty use of pronouns, and other technical errors.

The first story shows potential, but it needs a developmental editor, a content editor, and a few more runs through the typewriter.

This was a pretty good stand alone book. It was a quick and easy read which I have thoroughly enjoyed reading.

The main characters are Maggie and Tyler. Maggie is a chef who is barely getting by with two younger brothers and a cousin to look after. Tyler is a billionaire who is used to winning and getting exactly what he wants. The two are a pretty cute as a couple but there isn't really much to their relationship and I cannot see it working out in the long run.

There are very few secondary characters because it is such a short book.

The storyline is quick and easy. It's not the most original but it doesn't have to be because it's so short and doesn't have much substance. The pacing is Okay but not great, there wasn't much build up or tension between the couple.

3 stars an Ok read

New author Rye Hart sure knows how to steam up the pages! If you're looking for a book that is quick, fast-paced, and steamy with plenty of chemistry, dirty-talk, betrayal, heartbreak, with a whole lot of naughty thrown in, then Rock Hard Mountain Man is the book you need.

Not sure if I liked it or not. I don't hate it. In fact Tyler is kind of hilarious and Maggie is just the woman to make him grow up. Tyler's character was nothing of how I pictured a mountain man to be, I mean I expected him to bond with nature a lot but if you're interviewing a woman to become your personal chef it might be a good idea to buy her dinner first before you drop the towel..hint hint. Can you say sexual harassment. This seemed more like a comedy but just when it started to get interesting it rushed to the ending. You'll either like it or not, it is what it is. Sorry but I didn't like this one but I'll give this author another try.

This was a quick, steamy & funny read. I enjoyed Rye Harts writing style very much, it was engaging and had a amusing tone to it.

Maggie is a broke chef in training who is raising her 2 younger brothers since her mom passed. She has her cousin Jackie (who was so funny) helping her out. Jackie gets Maggie a interview that could change everything for her. She gets her the interview at a place where most business transactions are made, a strip club lol! Enter the billionaire mountain man who treats woman like trash, until Maggie puts him in his place.

Maggie is adorable, strong & loyal. Tyler is arrogant and amusing. This was a enjoyable book and I look forward from more of the light hearted writing from this author.

Rugged, handsome and full of himself, Tyler the mountain man is in Maggie's small town making a business deal. Not to mention looking for a chef for his mountain cabin to cook for him when he comes to town.

Maggie is raising two younger brothers working a job that just is not paying the bills. She takes a chance and interviews for the position and gets more than she bargained for.

I thoroughly enjoyed Tyler and Maggie's story. Both were interesting characters who brought out the best in each other. A great short story that gives you a warm wonderful feeling along with some steamy romance.

Terrible... I just don't understand all the 5 star reviews of this one.
The H was a jerk right off the bat, and it didn't feel like he earned his redemption with Maggie at all. Their relationship didn't ring true for me, and the writing wasn't great.

I really wish I could say that I liked this book. But seriously after these 2 meet, it seems as if it all goes downhill from there.

Tyler is the billionaire mountain man. He's got more money than he knows what to do with. He's turned his father's small corner business into a national empire! He can have his choice of any woman he wants and never has to worry about the consequences with his buddy/lawyer/friend Tyler there to take care of everything.

Maggie has dropped out of culinary school to move back and take care of her younger brothers. Working in a failing restaurant is the only way that Maggie can work where she loves. When her cousin mentions a new opportunity to work as a chef and bring in more money, all she has to do is work with the billionaire mountain man.

There were a few things that got on my nerves while reading this book.
First, there are two Tyler's in this book and when they are having a conversation it can get a bit confusing who is talking.
Second, Maggie started out such a strong woman. I thought for sure she was going to put this arrogant man in his place. But nope. She gave into him. I really wish she would've made him work for it more!
Third, I didn't really believe the chemistry between these two. Yeah, they may have had sexual chemistry, but beyond sex...nothing. They never learn much about each other and are saying I love you's after only knowing each other for a couple days.
Just not very fun to read about.

Rock Hard Mountain Man by Rye Hart
A quick, cute read. Maggie is struggling to keep herself and her two brothers afloat. She has become the legal guardian of them since her mothers’ passing. Her passion has always been to become a chef but due to circumstances she had to drop out of culinary school and take a job at a local steakhouse. When an opportunity presents itself as a chef for the billionaire Tyler, she applies for the job. However Tyler was hoping that he could convince the chef to add some extra curriculum activities to her job description. Maggie is disgusted with the brute and leaves him. Tyler has never had a woman reject him and he is determined to get Maggie to change her opinion. Tyler really comes across as an arrogant jerk and you wonder if he can ever recover from his obnoxious ways. Maggie is grounded and true to herself. Can these two ever get together and have a HEA or will Tyler continue to let her down. On the whole I liked the story and the plot. I was not mad on Tyler and he really did not absolve himself in my opinion. The ending seemed a bit rushed and I wished that the story had continued giving us a bit more depth and building climax. The writing style was easy to read and overall I did enjoy the book.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. Short and sweet book. Tyler is a arrogant mountain man who thinks he is Gods gift to everyone including any woman he wants for the night. The owner of a billion dollar conglomerate outdoor company, he started out with his father a kind and sharing man. Believing that his father died due to people sucking him dry for money, Tyler vowed to never do the same. Maggie, down on her luck, raising her teenage brothers and living with her stripper cousin. But bills are not paid with good intentions and Maggie needs another job. Her cousin lands her an interview of lifetime with the great Tyler Jenner as a chef but while the job is a dream come true, the interview ends with an arrogant man's stunt and Maggie storming out. Tyler sees something in Maggie, but Maggie only sees the arrogant, child-like and sexist man God in Tyler. Not only that but he is a dirty player in business as well. Will Tyler change to be a man his Father would be proud of or will he give up all that he can be for a new deal?

I'm not one who's usually into guys with beards, but with Tyler Jenner's description, I wouldn't mind going on a ride with that mountain man. Maggie Dean was an aspiring chef and she still hopes to become one, but a family tragedy forced her to put her dreams on hold to care for her siblings. A job opportunity comes up to cook for a new wealthy man in town, Tyler Jenner. Sparks fly, but Maggie's a virgin and way out of her depth with Tyler. Does she give her virginity to the burly mountain billionaire? I'm sure you can guess, but the book is worth a read to find out for sure. I enjoyed the book, but I felt like the ending was a little rushed. Also, at first, instead of coming off as an arrogant alpha male that so many of us secretly (or not so secretly) want in a book boyfriend, Tyler is rather juvenile. However, as the book progresses, we get to see his alpha male side and it's a good one! :-) I recommend the book and I look forward to reading more of Rye Hart's books in the future. She's an author to keep an eye on!

Tyler Jenner made me laugh. I can't imagine going to an interview with a guy and have him do it in A towel. To beat it all he takes the towel off and shows me what he has underneath and wants me to give him some. I would have to say it would make my day. It seems that's what Maggie needs. She needs a little excitement in her life. Having to raise her two teenage brothers after her mom dies.

I'm glad I took the chance with this author. She's just starting out and I have to say that she did a great job writing this book. The characters made me laugh and also ask myself, did they really just say that? I can't wait to read more by this author.

For Rye's first book, this was a great book!

Maggie Dean is a young Chef-in-training, raising her 2 younger brothers. She is just trying to make ends meet when she is told by her cousin Jackie that the hot, mountain man billionaire, Tyler Jenner is looking for a personal chef and that she has an interview to meet with him.
Tyler Jenner is the mountain man looking to expand his investments in the sleepy town of Mountain View, Colorado. He is used to getting any woman he wants and figures they all have a price, he was not expecting Maggie to turn him down when he propositions here. He has to have her. She teaches him that he should be humble. Excellent book!

This is a great virgin romance that is gripping. Once I started reading it I couldn't put it down. This is about a young woman who lost her mom and was bringing up her 2 teenagers brothers on her own and is in need of extra money so she goes for a job interview that changes everything about her life. This is a very descriptive book that gives you a very good image of the characters and where the story is set. This is a a story that is packed with elements of love, romance, friendship, betrayal, loyalty, fun, family, and hot sex. This is a fantastic story with a love that blossoms through the book. I would definitely recommend this book

This is the first book by Rye Hart I have read, and although it was a short fast read I really enjoyed it. Maggie struggles to keep the bills paid and her two brothers taken care of. Jackie her cousin also lives with them. When the chance comes to do what she loves to do as a job opportunity be a chef for a billionaire mountain man Tyler Jenner she really wants the job that is until he flashed her. Tyler has never had a woman turn him down so when Maggie Dean runs from him during the interview he decided he wants her bad. I loved how this story played out.

I liked the romance in this book, but a few inconsistencies made it difficult to really get into the conflict part of the story.
Tyler is a rich developer who wants to buy out the town, and she is choked by it but everything turns out well in the end. The conflict disappears, but it gives the reader the impression that the characters are fictional because it works too fast and too superficial.

But I am hooked. You can feel the emotions pouring off the page as you read about Maggie and Tyler.

I love how this book was written and I really cant wait to read more from Rye.

But I can say this, pick up this book. You will not be disappointed at all.

Uh - spelling errors galore and the book itself is over at only 10% on my kindle! Lots of extra content makes up the rest. The story itself is ridiculous. Tyler is a crook basically, but magically decides to turn his life around for Maggie because she yells at him. The story is so quick and moves at such a fast pace that none of it is believable. Tyler is so horrible it's hard to believe he could actually love Maggie - especially since the story starts with him asking his business partner to take the trash out while he showers referring to his one night stand. It just gets worse from there.

Tyler Jenner is the ultimate mountain man and he's rich. He is in need of a personal chef for when he visits his log cabin in Mountain View Colorado. MAggie Dean is the queen of the tough breaks, she is left alone in the world with her two brothers and is dire need of some money. She has one thing going for her, she wants to become a chef, so she applies for the job. He's arrogant and improper but she needs the job. The attraction is immediate and scorching hot. Will they have an HEA? What happens to the town? This is a fun read. I Voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.
