Rate this book
Box set comprising: The Grave Man, Death Sung Softly, Love and War, & Framed.

Meet retired cop, Sam Prichard.
Sam Prichard was a cop, and a good one, until the bullets took out the joint of his right hip. Now he's trying to learn to live without being a cop, and getting to know his neighbors, learning to walk again and even ride a motorcycle. Life is bearable, barely, but then he gets asked to find a missing child, and the lure of getting back into some kind of police work is too much for him to resist. When he teams up with computer whiz Indiana Perkins, he suddenly becomes one of the best investigators he's ever even known.

Now, he's found the missing child, but it's thrown him right into the middle of something that may be a drug war--or could be a chance to stop the next 911! There's no way out for Sam, so he's in for the ride of his life, but when the girl he's becoming fond of is suddenly drawn into the line of fire with her own little daughter, Sam is ready to forget all the rules and do whatever is necessary to win the day.

I've now read the first two books of the Sam Prichard series, and I'm not sure if I'm going to continue. My issue, which may actually appeal to others, is that the relationship between Sam and Indie is just too saccharin sweet. What is supposed to be a "thriller" ends up more like a Hallmark movie, with limited action or suspense and way too much sappy romance. Nobody's that perfect.

Excellent

I like Mr Archer's style. His writing captivates you from
The start his twists and turns forever keeps the reader
On edge. I personally couldn't start
The series and wait later to read the next book in the Sam
Pritchard series....I was hooked by the
suspense of what

Sam and Indie would be thrown into next! Awesome! I also
Appreciated the non use of bad language
In story lines.

Five Star Winner

I love the way you keep us hanging on the edge, but you keep it clean. No need for filthy language, or pornography scenes. And with you keeping God in there with your main characters it shouts major winner to me. You also sing purty good to young feller.

THE GRAVE MAN by David Archer book 1 Sam Prichard series.
Being a cop was all he wanted over marriage even. Plans change and it was hard to just be at home. Feeling sorry for what he lost, and the loneliness of the empty house. In helping others, he found happiness, and a new career.
The plot is good, the characters, one feels like you know them, rather they are the good guys or bad. Love his books, and readers will love this series.
DEAD SUNG SOFTLY
Sam gets his first case as a PI, with a badge, and a permit to carry a weapon. A band group come wondering where there lead singer was at. Conflicting stories was he offered a contract that didn’t included the band and murder was the way of stopping. They find out Sam was a singer with a band when in college, and they started using him as the lead singer.
Sam and Indie take another step to being a family
LOVE AND WAR
Sam and indie off to Hawaii for two weeks honeymoon, while Kenzie will say with the two grandmothers. On the plane in Denver Sam sees a guy grab a duffle bag off the luggage cart and comes on board putting in overhead, before quickly leaving the plane. A call from his friend in Homeland Security of a terrorist attack and they need his help. They are small nuclear bomb planted in different cities.Sam loses his partner,.
FRAMED
Intriguing plot having learned of strange happenings to them after they have seen their dentist, one that using hypnosis . It ranges with a dentist set on revenge, murder, sex and people were being framed. When Sam got three cases, and couldn’t believe they were connected. When he finds himself in the same cell with a guy he was defending of murder and now he too was charged with murder, A warning came a little to late, now how to prove what is happening,

Not quite a 5 star.

I really enjoy this series maybe because I read one of his later books first . The first couple of this set felt a little sappy; I could be wrong but I find it hard to believe two adults would engage in the dialogue Sam and Indie have as their relationship builds....her young daughter seemed the most sensible of the three! However, the mysteries are good and they are the main part of each book. That said, in one of books Sam is recruited into service for Homeland Security- the way it was done was reminiscent of Mighty Mouse....."here I come to save the day" feeling. I hope the next ones in the series continue to improve as that appears, so far, to be the case.

Good but it great

I love being able to listen to the songs. I have read the first four in the series and thin I will stop there. The characters are interesting but there is no character development. Sam loves Indie, Indie loves Sam, both love Kenzie. The marriage was so quick but the mother's moving in together so soon was a bit much And cases just seem to fall into their laps and are too easy for them to solve. Not sure there is anywhere for this to go.

Book 4 is Incomplete

Not very pleased that the last book - Book 4 - is apparently incomplete. I got to the last page to find a supposed link that says "to continue reading press here" I did that and the message says page cannot be found. It would be nice to have the entire book. Otherwise I did enjoy the rest of the books, so thanks for thar!!

Loved the series. Although Sam does take some steps that he should have not done, he does survive the messes he meets. His generosity to the single mom is gutsy but turns out very well for him. Loved the 'Dragon Tattoo' reference. The 4th book ended with the introduction of the next case so the stories continue.

These four books came in a series in the Bard books or talking books program. They are wonderful. This is the first I’ve ever heard of this author and his books are wonderful. I am going to cut a page of all of his books with the series and books in order, I hope and continue reading him really really good series. It’s the first for a wonderful, wonderful wonderful

A diversion

I liked the fact that the books didn't have long drawn out sexual scenes. I like the choice of a physically challenged detective. The books would be better if they had more description of scenes and characters.

I enjoyed the first book BUT after only four or five chapters into the second book I couldn't take it anymore. The writing is flat and if cliché is bad, I found it was barely reaching the cliché mark. I felt like I was wasting my time so I quit. Not recommended.

I loved reading these books from start to finish.

Sam Pritchard series is a great mystery. It held my attention from beginning until the very last word written. It also brought the Christian twist to the mystery

Gripping stories

What a cracking set if stories. I was reading Dean Crawford fantasty books before these, and needed a bit of near realism reading, and made the right choice going for David Archer.

I have found a new hero in Sam Prichard.

I enjoyed all of the books, although I felt like they were very short as novels. I too agree I appreciate the dearth of bad language and the lack of prolonged sex scenes.

A Compilation of Pritchard Series books 1-3

Cheaper by the dozen but only by a few cents. Still it didn't allow to rate each individual book only the series of books 1, 2 & 3.

Love these stories

A private eye, a computer whiz and bad guys. From simple cases to Homeland Security getting involved, Sam gets his guy. And Indie is wonderful. Looks at the dark side of humanity but doesn't forget that Sam has a life too. A bit of a love story. Love the band element and that the lyrics and music are included.

The price was terrific and it allows you to read the next story without needing to change the book. This is a pretty good book series.
