Tangled Web starts off not long after the end of Sweet Venom. The hellhounds who once tortured Cassis are now wanting her to bond with them so that they can continue living as she is the new Night Queen. Less than thrilled about the idea but unwilling to let them just fade away she knows she has to do what's right. However, the oracle has another plan that is going to change everything that that Cassis knew and set her down a path to change everything.
I like Cassis she's unique when it comes to a heroine who just happened to more than just half a spider venin but also fae and now hellhound. I admit she already has her close circle of friends, broody alpha werewolf, so juggling four needy hellhounds is going to be interesting. I really want her to make it work with Jack and I'm rooting for him even if he's got issues his wolf has already claimed her.
I had to read Tangled Web the moment it landed on my kindle because I was curious to see what as going to happen to Cassis. I love the unique main character she's a black widow venin but now also a hellhound. I admit that I would love to see what these hellhounds look like as I can only imagine and hope the next one has even just a shadow on the cover. I love that this book ties up a few of the questions from the first book and now I have all new questions. The author has done a beautiful job creating a complex story that captures the heart as well as the imagination. My only complaint is I need more and I wish the books had over 300 pages. I can't wait for the next one to see how Cassis pulls off her new role and handles being a hellhound.
Once again in Gena D Lutz books. I'm pulled in by her lure of action and twist.
A Phenomenal read that pulls at your very core. I could not wait to start this book because Tangled Web was an unusual different twist to the paranormal world. The author gives such a freshness to it that you dint get bored with the sane read after time as avid readers do. This second book would not disappoint!
Tangled Web lures you in, intrigues you, turns your world upside down. Just when you think you have it figured out it changes on you. I was so happy to see a deeper glimpse within a different beings in the paranormal world. It's a definite twist when you get Spiders, Scorpions lets not forget hot Were's and more! It's forbidding, dangerous, yet desirable and luscious. I especially love the hell hounds. These characters are all so different and Enticing. It gets darker and wilder so prepare for a ride!
Cassie shows you a glimpse into her bad ass self but draws you into her web of people as she does in the last book. She embarks on an adventure that that will be sure not to disappoint! Now the Night Queen, after Sweet Venom and has now enhanced powers. You get a revaluation on things she can do and has. It's epic! A must read!!! You get introduced into yet more species of the paranormal world which intrigues you to your core even more! Sexy hotness this book bleeds into your heart!
The writer flows with her words effortlessly off the pages and is so in depth with characters that you are pulled in and on edge the entire time!
The author leaves you with with a mark on your heart making you scramble to grab the next book. It's words flow effortlessly off the page as does any if Gena's books. They'll keep you up for hours soaking in every word like a sponge. Be prepared for a huge book hangover. Way to go Gena! That was one hell of a ride when am I gonna read the next!
Loved this continuation of the first book! Cassis is still super awesome and kicks butt! Plus, there are hellhounds! Totally cool! The only problem I had with this book is that it's way too short! I want more story! So, I suppose that's a good thing because I want more! The story is interesting, unique, and entertaining the whole way through! I'm loving the direction the story is going in with Cassis gaining lots of power as the new Night Queen, and she has a growing entourage of some really interesting characters. Looking forward to more! I want to see more of her Venin side!
I thought that the book was going well then all of a sudden the heroine forgives all of the two years of containment and rape she experienced and those involved or could have helped. She did not even need an apology. Are you serious?! No. Never. Then she is more concerned about a murderer being killed than the 12 year old they were about to kill. Unbelievable. With heroines like this, there will always be rapists and murderers. Never again.
I had read the first book of the Venin Assassin #1 quiet some time ago, so while I was reading Tangled Web I had to go back and skim thru the first book to catch up on the story. Once I did, I really started to enjoy the book. Hellhounds turning from killers to loveable, gorgeous and intimate men; well it was a fantastic web that Gena Lutz created. I really recommend this book.
I'm a big fan of this author, I really enjoy every book she writes and I always want more. Though the story is on the shorter side, quite a bit happens. Our heroine deals with hellhounds, the Fae, her parentage and boy trouble this time. I am so ready for the next book!
After the fast paced a tion of the first book this one seems to be more exposition than anything else. It also seems shorter. Still a good entertaining read, though.
Although this story felt like an in between/bridge read it managed to be entertaining. IMO it could've benefited from a few more pages. I'll be continuing this series.
Tangled Web is the continuation of Cassis' story from Sweet Venom. Cassis has defeated and killed her enemy in the previous book, but this has made her take on the role of Night Queen. Will she do it? Can she accept everything that goes with this new responsibility? And as she's dealing with this, family issues come to light. How will Cassis deal with fairies and hell hounds?
This book picks up fairly quickly after Sweet Venom finished and although there's not a great deal of action going on, it tells us how Cassis has changed following the events of before.
Having killed the previous Night Queen, Cassis finds she is to take her place and along with that she also has to lead the Fang and Claw hellhounds, but that is not something Cassis is entirely comfortable with. She is also summoned by the Oracle, from whom she finds out some very revealing secrets, which I can presume Cassis will deal with in the next book.
Jack is also around and he makes a startling revelation as well; one which Cassis now has to deal with and she is not sure what all of this means to her right now. She needs a bit of time to process everything that has happened to her in such a short time.
I would have loved this book to be longer and for Cassis to use her powers, new and old to see how she manages them. Hopefully we will see more in the next book.
This wasn't my favorite by her but I still did enjoy this book. While I was reading it, I wanted to keep going but when I was forced to put it down, it wasn't like a rush to return to it.
Cassis really got herself in deep this time. Can she get herself out or will it all work out for the best? Is she bonded to the hellhounds or will she bond to the werewolf? What will the future hold for her? Grab your copy today and find out. I highly recommend this series! Great read!
What can I say Gena Lutz has done it again with Tangled Web the second book in her Venin Assassin series was just as good if not better than the first! It starts off pretty much where the last one left off and we learn more about the world created in the first book. Now though we have the Evil night queen dead Cassis has her hands full with a pack of hell hounds on her tail in more ways than one! some serious family drama coming to light with secrets reveled a choice to make that will change her life forever....Oh and lets not forget the boyfriend drama either. I read this in one day...I couldn't put it down and I can't wait to read the next one that's coming out soon!
