USA Today and #1 Sunday Times bestselling author Sarah Morgan writes romance and contemporary women's fiction and her trademark humour and warmth have gained her fans across the globe. Sarah lives near London, England, and when she isn't reading or writing she loves being outdoors.
Look out for Sarah's latest novel - All Together for Christmas (UK title)/ A Merry Little Lie (US/Canadian title)
Italian Doctor, Sleigh Bell Bride is one of the best Sarah Morgan’s I’ve read and I was swept away by the Cinderella-esque romance.
She wasn’t the sort of woman that a man like Stefano Lucarelli would ever notice.
I loved every single moment and, with Liv and Stefano having a wonderful chemistry, magical settings and just the right amount of drama, it was the most perfect, romantic, festive read which brought all the feels and I could quite happily read it all over again.
Ye old title generator was straining with this one – although it is accurate. The hero is a (yummy) Italian doctor mysteriously working in a London ER department and the Sleigh-Bell Bride refers to the set piece at the end of the story where the hero proposes in the Italian Alps during a sleigh ride.
Heroine is a nurse and a single mom and comes to the hero’s attention when he overhears another nurse telling the heroine she really needs to have hot sex for Christmas. Heroine is mortified by the conversation, since she doesn’t think of herself as sexual at all. Her ex did a number on her self-esteem and she has enough to keep her busy trying to keep up with her seven year-old son.
Hero can’t shake the association of the big-busted heroine with sex and thus begins his pursuit of her.
The conflict is the prickly heroine reminding the hero every two minutes that she is not sexy and that she is poor and can never pay him back and . . .
It got a little old after awhile.
Hero had a lot more patience than I did with the self-deprecating heroine. Even her son clued in that mommy is a little hung up on herself.
SM seems to realize she painted a pathetic creature who needs to lighten up when she has the heroine blurt out that she really likes the hero, but she likes his money and lifestyle too – like it’s some kind of moral failing. The hero laughs at her and explains that he likes his money and lifestyle as well and it would be a drag if the heroine didn’t.
H/h court for about three weeks and are engaged on Christmas Day after heroine met his entire family. It’s a fast time line, but not unbelievable.
This is a medical so there were descriptions of emergency events and other ailments. I welcomed them because it showed the heroine in her best light – and moved the focus from her unreasonable self-consciousness. Hero needed to have a reason to love and respect her besides her big boobs.
Italian Doctor, Sleigh Bell Bride definitely met my needs for a quick, feel good contemporary romance Christmas read. It had a Cinderella vibe, with struggling single mom Liv; and handsome, sexy, accomplished, and very nice Stefano. That was very cool to see a deserving woman get her Christmas wishes come true. On top of that, this had some elements of the medical profession that I absolutely loved! It was so much fun to see the medicine cases that Liv and Stefano worked on together. Although Ms. Morgan played it safe by having Liv as the nurse and Stefano as the trained surgeon, she also showed how very good Liv was at her job. She was an excellent diagnostician, and had a wonderful touch with her patients. She took her job seriously and was always professional. And I liked the message that nurses were a valuable part of the medical team, often providing essential care that doctors can't and don't. Stefano was also a professional. Even though he was a rich Italian (gotta have that vibe going on), he was a very good doctor, and he took it seriously.
I loved the progression of their relationship. Stefano showed his love, which is a big thing for me. He saw that Liv was under a lot of burdens, trying to raise her son and make ends meet, and putting him first. I loved how he nurtured her, bringing her sense of self back where it needed to be, because she was had very low self esteem after her husband cheated on her and abandoned her. He was also really good with Max. He understood that the little boy needed a male influence, and he wasn't just playing along just to get close to his mother.
I liked that Liv and Stefano conducted their relationship circumspectly. Although Liv and Max were staying with Stefano after their apartment burned down, they weren't carrying on with a young boy in the house, because Liv didn't want for her son to get the wrong idea. I liked that Stefano respected that, and he managed to show Liv that he found her sexy and desired her, but did it in a way that didn't compromise her status as a mom with an impressionable young boy.
Although this story had some of the unrealistic elements of a Harlequin Presents, it also had some more real world aspects that I enjoyed. And the medical elements were the icing on the cake. The dialogue was good, with some great funny bits. And Max was adorable. I loved his last line when Liv and Stefano were being 'mushy'. It was classic! Sarah Morgan has once again written a story that I am adding to my keeper shelf, and showed that she knows her stuff when it comes to medicine. I can't wait to read more Medical Romances.
Liv is a single mom struggling to make ends meet. She is a wonderful mom reading about cars and football coaching in her spare time to make her son happy. She is a competent and confident nurse. But in he social life - or her lack of social life - she feels ordinary, self- conscious and awkward thanks to her ex husband who made a really bad number on her self-confidence. But Stefano sees the kind and beautiful woman she really is beneath her shyness. He takes her out of her comfort zone. Stefano is a wonderful hero. He can be an intimidating surgeon, but when he falls in love, he is so tender and caring. I enjoyed the first part of this book, the second part appeared like a fantasy a la Harlequin Presents.
Delightful story about Liv, a single mom and nurse, who lives in London with her seven year old son. Enter the dashing Stefano, an emergency room physician who takes a liking to the young woman. Liv is confident in your job and that's what initially draws Stefano to her, but she lacks self confidence in herself outside the hospital where she works. She cannot believe anyone, especially handsome, Italian Stefano, would be interested in her. "I am nothing, " she states. "I'm a poor single mother, struggling to make ends meet. Who could see anything in that?" Oh, but Stefano does.
Proprio bellino.
Loved this book, got it from library as part of a 3 book collection. Only read the first book which was this story. A love.y relaxing read. Liv works in a hospital and is a single mom to max,, can she trust a man again after being hurt, will the dr at work who over hears her friend talking fall in love with a shy single mom. ...
It's definitely a good idea to invest in reading anything written by Sarah Morgan. It's a Medical Romance. The best part is that it's a optimistic romance novel written in a sweet and refreshing manner. Loved it. Definitely read it.
Once you suspend everything you know about inappropriate relationships at work involving one person with authority and another without, then you might be able to enjoy this story. It’s still a rushed romance that goes from 0 to marriage proposal in a few short weeks.
The title is terrible, the writing mediocre, and the plot full of clichés.
But life is very stressful right now, and this fluffy, absurd little Christmas romance genuinely made me smile, so it gets more stars than it technically deserves.
All in all, this is a pretty good quick romance read! Far superior to 'Dr Zinetti's Snowkissed Bride', this books main protagonists are all far more likeable and I was definitely rooting for them.
Liv and Stefano are both genuinely good people and despite being insecure Liv never villainizes other women and blames them for this. She knows why she has insecurities but knows they aren't the fault of other women who have the audacity to exist (Yes I'm talking about Meg in the aforementioned title).
Stefano actually seemed like a catch, he cared about Liv and her son and never pushed her or attempted to control her.
Anna was kind of annoying but she meant well, and she wasn't so bad that I couldn't overlook it.
Max was a much more believably written child, whole he did speak a bit older than his age it wasn't as bad as Meg's son James.
Overall, while this book isn't the best romance ever written it's a good quick festive read - with no glaring issues that I noticed.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I enjoyed this story but the heroine Liv’s low self esteem and willingness to believe the worst became pretty annoying as she continued in this style for the duration of the book.
I loved Stefano - what a fabulous hero he was! Quite frankly he deserved better than Liv; he certainly worked incredibly hard to be supportive, encouraging and loving. As for the sister - seriously, her comments about why Stefano had brought Liv to Italy - made no sense at all. The woman wasn’t an idiot so why say the things she did - except to provide the author with a plot device for the black moment. If this sub-par black moment had been better devised and plotted, I would have given 5 stars but instead I was disappointed. One star deducted.
The author has become much better at finding believable black moments! Still a very enjoyable little story. Desperately wanted an epilogue with two or three more children so another star lost.
This is a definate feel good christmas romance worthy of 5 stars I'll be honest as far as romances go I'm indifferent to the sexy suave Mediterranean men we see in most romance novels as they tend to lack depth and character BUT in this story Sarah Morgan has made Stefano such a loveable hero he's hard not to like, poor Liv is so lacking in self confidence from a previous relationship that it's impossible not to relate to this realistic heroine and her 7yr old son Max is absolutely adorable the dynamics of the banter and relationship between the characters is fantastic. I say this often with Sarah Morgan's books as she is such a lovely romance writer but this is definately my favourite to date
Liv and Stefano are colleagues who begin a relationship together. It's not without its ups and downs however as she has a son, her apartment is destroyed by fire and she thinks he could do a lot better. Beautiful romance to get you in the Christmas mood
it is the story of liv,a single mother trying to make ends meet and stefano,a gorgeous surgeon..
i am not a fan of medical romance, but i still loved reading this one.the author is her usual best in this.if you are looking for a high emotional and passionate romance, this is your book..:)
