This a universal truth that George knows far too well. When he first enlisted, he expected to see death and destruction, but he didn't understand just how much it would haunt him. He came to realize just how nightmarish war could be when he returned from his first tour.
He awoke in the night, unable to understand where he was. He grabbed a knife and tried to take down the enemy. But it wasn't the enemy. It was Callie.
Horrified and ashamed, George broke things off with Callie. And while he was gone for another tour, neither of them moved on.
Now, he is back in town, injured and starting his life over again. And it is his hope that Callie will be a part of it. But can they overcome their past and his demons to be together?
Really dislike "add". on stories. After the actual story, another story, unknown in content, begins. The title story was ok but not developed in full to be rated higher. I rated this based on my disappointment in the overall structure and the lack of continuity.
I chose this rating because this was a pretty good book. The characters were very interesting. I loved the way Callie his high school sweetheart new that George was suffering from PTSD. And that he needed a companion to help him out. His dog Xavier was a great big help. They were a great couple. Calllie trained others dogs in her pet store to help military veterans. I think that was a great thing she did. She got her man and her dream wedding. I loved the romance has well. I recommend this book to all romance readers.
This book had several things that I did like. Alternating POV, a H I liked and a h I liked. Reading the blurb it sounded like a story that would be interesting. The text was good, I did not find any bad spelling or other things that would have irritated me.
There was unfortunately something that I did not like at all. The pace. Everything happens at warp speed. For my part it felt like it just went from intro to "Hello Let's Be In Love". The first time we meet the h and already the H is there talking about loving her again. There is so much about the book that I do enjoy that I felt irritation at where the missing chapters where that should have been there. The length of the book also seems to be good, I like longer stories but I did not finish this one.
So the book did not hit the mark for me but hey, if anyone felt irritated at a book just moving to slow here is one for you. There is plenty to enjoy about it so why not give it a try.
This book wasn't a great follow up with the family. It just lacked everything the first book had. Sorry but this was a disappointment. You wrote a book about a brother we didn't event get to meet in the first one. Thought you would have written it on Tuck or Logan or even Jackson. But this no this brother should have been the 3rd or 4th book. Where we got to meet him at least.
This series is very interesting and addictive. I really enjoyed this book. The characters were well described and the storyline was well-written. I can't wait for the next book!
Sweet reunited lovers story. Wounded war hero comes home and has to decide if he can be the man he needs to be and if he can win back his lady love, who never stopped loving him.
