Jax That awkward moment when you accidentally fool around with a closet case. I have a strict policy against dating closeted guys. Confused straight guys? Absolutely. Guys who don’t mind being out and proud? Duh. But closet cases are a hard pass. Been there, done that, have the t-shirt with a giant picture of a broken heart on it. It would be a lot easier to stick to my dating rule if Matthew Hart could be slightly less irresistible.
Matthew Being a closeted gay college football player is not all it’s cracked up to be. After I broke my high school boyfriend’s heart by refusing to come out of the closet, I swore off serious dating. I don’t want to hurt anyone like that again, and I’ll admit I’m protecting my own heart in the process, too. It was a lot easier to stick to my no dating rule before I laid eyes on Jax Greene. He’s exactly my type in every possible way. If there’s even the slightest chance that history won’t repeat itself, I want to see where things might lead. Convincing Jax to give me a chance though might be the toughest play I’ve ever made.
**This book is the first M/M installment of the Sexy Nerd Boys series, but can be read as a stand-alone. Recommended for 18+ due to language and all kinds of hot sex
K.M.Neuhold has long since been a romance junkie. When she’s not writing she’s reading or spending time snuggling with her husky or her husband. She fell in love with M/M romance last year and hasn’t been able to turn back. There’s nothing she loves more than love in all its forms.
4.5 stars Awesome read... Jax out and proud, handsome flirty has one goal...get to suck of straight guys. He has his reasons because no straight guy can harm him like his ex-boyfriend did.....no coming out of the closet, after that they did break up. Matthew being and staying closeted gay broke his boyfriends heart, because he refused to come out. He wants a football career and there is no place for him when he outs himself. Only a few close friends knows about this.
When Matthew sees Jax he is in awe, out and proud, so great, but not for him. After they were put together as study partners for a project Jax can reach his goal and goes for it. When Matthew admit he is into cock Jax withdraw immediately. No closet guy for him ohh no.... But there is an undeniable attraction and they have a great time together, hot and passionately, and are growing closer and closer...only .....indoors. This screams for broken hearts... After Jax have been dismissed by Matthew in front on his football buddies Jax can't take it anymore.... no closet guy for him ohh no....
The story was firm, steady and very likable written. The heart crushing and awkward moments were put down in just the right way, I really felt them. Jax and Matthew personalities were properly displayed. Their friends are all very supportive. This book is part of a serie but can easily read as a stand alone. It has a well deserved HEA.
*** This is the story of how Matthew and Jax got together. It's a fun afternoon, cuddly tale ! Matthew is a college football player, and getting his degree. Jax is the short, bearded, glasses wearing, cutie, Matthew is interested in. Matthew is in the closet, because he believes it will ruin his NFL chances if he comes out.
His ex left him because he stayed in the closet. Jax has been hurt by his ex, who wouldn't come out. But these two men really click on all levels of compatibility. We get to watch them struggle, but we also see their super sexy fun times and the way they enjoy games, movies, food, etc. The side characters are lively and fun. This is a wonderful story of two men who deserve their happiness. LOVED the epilogue ! Highly recommended ! ENJOY ! ===========================
New adult romance filled with college kids who make bad decisions and don't use common sense then make everything waaaaay more complicated then it needs to be and yet have everything work out super well in the end anyway.
Not going to lie...I skimmed after a while. Maybe I'm just too old for this $#!+.
Look, if you like enormous amounts of drama llama - the kind where ohmigod the world is ending I love him so much but I can't have him it all hurts so much wait he's seen the light and we love each other so much it all works out super well and we will live happily ever after - if that's your thing then definitely give this one a shot, and bonus! It's Kindle Unlimited.
Note: I skipped the other books in the series (they're M/F) and jumped right to the M/M pairing.
-2.5 stars- This really didn't work for me. I could go in to great depth for why, but I'm feeling lazy so I'll keep it brief. In the end I didn't like Jax, I got sick of every second paragraph going on and on how he didn't want to be with another closet case. I mean we got it the first 100 times, it didn't need to be continuously repeated throughout nearly the entire book over and over and over and over again. I also hated the abrupt change of voice between characters. Several times in each chapter it would change between the two. I would just get used to one person, then before their part ever elaborated or finished, boom, it's the other MC. To many other people involved and not enough of the MCs together. They would organise a date or a movie night, get to the house, then boom chapter ends with no details, no relationship building. Sorry I'm ranting. The last third was slightly better than the rest, but I can't recommend this book to my fellow mm readers. HOWEVER others seem to have enjoyed this so I may very well be a minority.
This was an enjoyable, but somewhat angsty read. Jax is out and proud and I absolutely adored that he was so comfortable in his own skin. His use of substitute curse words were just as funny, adorkable and quirky as the man himself. Matt was a conundrum. He was in the closet, but to a degree he was somewhat open and comfortable with himself. There were times I wanted to slap some sense into him, but as we get to know him and his background, you can see his fears that keep him closeted are valid. There was one point during the story that my heart just broke for him and I wanted cuddle him.
The story is well-written and has likable characters that you can root for. Matt and Jax had an amazing chemistry and were smoking hot together. My only complaint might be that, while this can be read as a standalone, the previous couples have a huge presence in the story, so I felt lost at times trying to keep all the previous characters and their bf's straight.
All in all, a pleasant, sweet, funny, sexy read with just a bit of heartbreak. Recommendable!!

> > Judging a Book by it's Cover < < Two good-looking men nuzzling intimately. background colors kind of blend making only the fonts really stand out. I've read this series from the beginning, so I planned to read this one as well. Tagline is a little cheesy, but not terrible. > > Looking Deeper < < POV ~> Alternating first-person POVs, between Matt and Jax. Well-marked. Ms. Neuhold's debut story in the M/M world is a sweet and sexy success and wonderful addition to the Sexy Nerd Boys series! Matt is still closeted, partly due to the upbringing his dad delivered. He's under the impression that he cannot play football and be gay. Jax is out and proud. Having been in a relationship once with a closeted man, he's loathe to do so again. But when their mutual attraction is fueled by being paired up for a major assignment in Anthropology, fighting it becomes futile. Matt and Jax are rather different characters, but both were very likable. Their chemistry was enjoyable to see build up. The secondaries were a nice blend of previous couples and new characters. Dialogue and cast interaction was natural and believable. The plot had enough drama and conflict to provide the needed dynamics and kept it from being too sugary sweet. The writing style was smooth, allowing the story to flow smoothly. Conflicts were all eventually resolved. Predictability was low. The conclusion was solid, ending in a "x years later" epilogue that was caught us up on many cast members, but I was sad that Jax's bestie was not included in that Epilogue (only mentioned in later notes, like an afterthought). Overall, I think that this was a great first-attempt at writing M/M and was very happy to have the chance to read it. I would recommend it to others. Although it could read as a standalone, I think it is stronger when read as a series so you get to know some of the key secondary cast. . Jackson "Jax" Greene has a strict policy against dating closeted guys. But then he meets Matthew "Rocket" Hart! And his strict rule starts wavering! And after a mouthwatering situation, Jax learns that Matthew "Sexy Beast " Hart is not so straight as an arrow as he thought...!
Matthew Hart is as straight as a football quarterback that's going for the NFL, can be! It's only when he is with his closest friends that he can be him self. Snuggle and calling people for sugar.
The nerd touch in the story is funny and sweet . "Superheroes are badass" They talk and bound over comic books and superheroes.
I really liked this book. It's a light easy read. Sweet and funny!

** My Review **
I’m pretty sure Sexy Nerd Boys is my guilty pleasure. I swear I gleefully fly through each one of these books in a day. Once I start I don’t stop until I am finished. Closet Case was no exception.
Matthew and Jax were so freaking cute and I really liked them together. I really loved Jax’s upbeat attitude and sense of humor, and I especially loved just how comfortable Jax was in his own skin. On the flip side of that, I appreciated seeing Matthew’s journey too. I couldn’t imagine the pressures and worries one might have in coming out. But I do think stories like this one that openly explores issues like this help us all get a better idea, which is a wonderful thing.
We also got to see little bits with the others couples we’ve come to love from past books, which is always cool…and that Epilogue…AMAZING!! I look forward to seeing what comes next!
I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Oh my - Matthew and Jax stole my heart. They're so adorable together -- so funny and sexy and just...adorable! I felt like with Closet Case the Sexy Nerd Boys series rediscovered some of the heart that had been missing for me in the last couple of books and I really enjoyed reading this story.
That said - as a reader of the series from the first book - the jump from book three to book four was really abrupt. I had to go looking to see if I'd missed a book because there was a huge jump forward without any explanation. However, that's good news for new readers of the series -- if this is the first Sexy Nerd Boys book you've read? You'll have no problem diving right in. I feel like it's set up wonderfully as a standalone. I just had issues with jumping forward so far, and there were some inconsistencies between the last book and this one that niggled at me.
This book, like the last couple, also had a bit of a younger vibe to it - but it didn't bother me quite as much in this case. Some things were resolved very quickly and maybe a little too neatly - but overall I completely enjoyed this story and the Matthew and Jax in general. There's plenty of heat (though it's been toned down a bit compared to Hard to Resist - which is a good thing, in my opinion), and some sweet, lighthearted, flirty banter that completely won me over.
As a reward to loyal readers of the series, there's a fantastic epilogue in this book that ties everything up and gives us closure with all of the couples we've fallen in love with over the course of the series. In the end - this was a perfectly enjoyable MM book and I'm happy to have gotten to spend the time with Jax and Matthew. ~ Shelly, 3.5 Stars

I have become a bigger more loyal fan of K. M. Neuhold's with each one of her books that I have began reading from the Sexy Nerdy Boys series. So even though I am not all that familiar with male/male romance, I couldn't wait to see what sexiness Neuhold was going to dish up for us with not one but two heroes to fall madly in love with. Seeing as how I had already become hopelessly enamored with the hottie Matthew in Hard To Resist, I was already half way to being totally obsessed with this delicious duo. Once I got to know the bearded, intense Jax, I was a complete and total goner. Jax and Matthew didn't just rock each other's world while hiding out from the judgemental views, but they rocked readers right off of our very foundation.
Matthew Hart is every girl's fantasy with his muscled good looks and his super cuddling skills. My heart truly went out to him when Neuhold brought us inside his mind and heart and showed us the struggle that he has went through to pursue his predominately straight male career of football and his unquenchable desire for the same sex. From the moment he lays eyes on the gorgeous, loud and proud Jax, he knows that his closet is becoming stifling and he would love to break free and still see a career in the NFL in his future. I didn't think it was possible to love this all American hero anymore than I already did but Neuhold quickly showed me how wrong I was.
As if Matty wasn't enough to occupy reader's thoughts, the fedora wearing, bass playing Jackson Greene had me seduced and panting for this brave hero who isn't apologetic about who he is and gives Matthew his whole heart and soul. I admired everything about Jax and cheered him on with his effort to help Matty or “rocket” as he affectionately called him step out of the closet. His world deserves to be full of love and I couldn't wait for Matthew to show him that he is worth everything!
K. M. Neuhold proves to all of us that love is to be celebrated and is beautiful no matter what. I highly recommend Closet Case for a romance that conquers judgments and preconceived notions and gives readers twice the yummy heroes to worship. K. M. Neuhold has given her readers a series full of nerdy boys that defy all definitions of sexiness and combine brilliant brains and lickable brawn to keep us swooning and salivating for more!

What a fabulous addition to the Sexy Nerd Boys Series. This M/M romance is touching and sweet and tackles a difficult situation, very poignant today.
When Jax Greene sets eyes on Matthew Hart in their college class, he's immediately taken by the gorgeous hunk of a man.......but one problem...... Jax doesn't do relationships with closet cases.
Jackson Greene (Jax) has had his heart ripped out by his previous love, who never wanted to come out and he won't do it again, not even for the supremely sexy jock, Matt Hart. Jax guards his heart with a cage of steel, playing the flirt and pretending like he's just trying to turn all the straights into gays, but underneath, he yearns to have that one special person he can cuddle with and watch sappy movies with.
Matt Hart, the epitome of college football quarterback jocks, is one of the boys in the team. His team mates are constantly trying to hook him up with the ladies but Matt always finds a way out of these awkward situations. Matt just wants the right guy to hold in his arms, but can't bring himself to come out in the very heterosexual world of college football. It's just not the way to get yourself signed to the big leagues.
These two characters are beautifully written by Kyleen Neuhold, with the focus on their personal struggles to gain acceptance but ultimately to accept themselves for who they really are.
Although this book can be read as a standalone, the setting for this book amongst the college group of friends, is more enhanced by knowing and understanding the supporting cast and their own relationships to this story and characters.
The friendships in this series are warm, beautiful and ultimately accepting of each other, without question.
Another 5 star read from Ms Neuhold. Touching, emotional but let's not exclude ohhh sooo hot as well.
Reviewed on behalf of 2 Girls Who Love Books Blog MM Romance. You love it or you hate it, there’s nothing in between (in my experience). Since I love a good MM romance I was really looking forward to read this one. I enjoyed the previous books of this series and couldn’t wait for Matthew to get his own Happily Ever After. However, most MM books feature a couple that is out and proud in various states of proudness (read: in various states of presenting the gay lifestyle). This book had a different view: Matthew is a closet case gay. He is not out, because he fears what it would do for his football career. So far I have not read a MM book with this topic and I have to say it was really nice. I liked how both main characters struggled with hiding their relationship. Hiding – in fact – with who they are. In the end they get their HEA, of course, but the way to get there has more than one obstacle to overcome. The writing style of the author improved a lot through the series. You will notice that she grows in her writing when you start with the first book and finish with this one, however all books are standalones and can be read without reading the others first. The characters from the other books reappear in each one, but you can understand everything without having to read the rest of the series. I found the nerdiness of the characters lessen within the story and would have loved to see more geeky/nerdy references, just for fun. I really enjoyed reading this book/series and recommend it as a light and fast read that can be read in between when there’s the need for some light entertainment.
I FREAKING LOVED CLOSET CASE SO FREAKING MUCH! I do not read a lot of M/M romances often but this one, WOW! Sexy, fun, sizzling, this book BLEW ME AWAY in the BEST FREAKING WAY possible. Matty and Jax were some seriously fabulous men! Jax is fun, sassy, good looking and one great friend. Matty is a hot quarterback who isn't quite ready to come out of the closet, but dang, he is sweet, strong, all man and when he sees Jax, he wants him in his life forever. Watching these two as they fell in love and had some seriously smoking hot sex, It took my breath away and I just could not put the book down until I was finished. I finished this book in ONE day because it was THAT good!
To say I was impressed with the writing would be putting it lightly. The way Miss Neuhold described some of the issues and struggles the LGBT communtiy goes through as they try to live there lives was impressive as hell. I loved the characters and their romance is just AMAZING! Plus, she interlocked some witty, laugh-out-loud banter with sweet, sizzling love that will make you giggle one moment and sigh the next. It was beautiful, sexy and definitely fun! It touched my heart and that is priceless!
Closet Case by K.M. Neuhold gets a SERIOUSLY AMAZING FIVE SHOOTING STARS! Its one romance you wont put down until its done, and then you will want to pick it up again and read it all over gain. BEAUTIFUL!
This was ok. I generally liked the two MC but just found the "I don't do closet cases", "I can't do this anymore" to and fro took the wind out of the story.
I was lucky enough to receive a review copy of this, from a new to me author. So pleased to of discovered this author too. This story is fast paced, but doesn't scrimp on the detail, and drawing you in to really route for these two. I've only recently started reading M/M and love it. These two are the sweetest, funniest and sometimes the most awkward pair I've come across. Definitely worth a read!
No, non qualcuno.
Closet Case is book four in the Sexy Nerd Boys series, by K.M. Neuhold. I have to own up to not having read the others, which turns out to be a serious missed opportunity on my part. This is Jax and Matthew’s story, and I immediately fell in love with both these college guys. First, there’s the openly gay bass player, Jax. He’s flamboyant and maybe a little camp, but he's been seriously hurt before in a relationship with a guy who’s ‘in the closet’ and he really doesn't want to go there again. Then there’s the hunky, closeted, football team quarterback, Matthew, who lost his first love because he couldn't come out of the closet. Unfortunately, he's still firmly in there! His excuse, apart from a homophobic father, is he's trying for the NFL and, after all, macho sportsmen aren't allowed to be gay. Right? He also worries about how his teammates will react, in particular, one very vocal homophobe who takes every opportunity to verbally tease Jax.
The two of them are thrown together by their professor who teams them up on a term project which naturally puts them in close proximity. They also have a group of mutual friends who already know Matthew is gay. Both fight the growing attraction but give in, grudgingly, to feelings that scare them but that they can't ignore. Both have to compromise their principles to be together, and they both know the ending to their story won't be pretty, but neither can make the move to end it just yet!
I adored Jax’s conviction that he would not ‘out’ anyone, even his ex, without their agreement. So much temptation is put in his way, and he clearly loves Matthew but is constantly being hurt by not being able to be open about their relationship to anyone, including his best friend. I could feel the struggle between Matthews heart, that desperately wants to be open with Jax, and his head that truly believes that he can’t have that and pursue his chosen career. I so badly wanted him to fling caution to the wind and declare his love to the world. Does he do that? That would be telling. I will say there’s a HEA and the final chapter takes place eight years later which is a nice touch.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. The plot is predictable, but that just means you don’t have to think too hard while reading it, making it a great ‘curl up for an afternoon’ book. It’s also quite well written, and the characters are strong, loveable and believable. Overall this is a great, solid ‘closet’ romance.
****I would like to thank the author for the privilege and opportunity of reading this ARC. My review is an honest opinion of the book**** www.optimummblog.wordpress.com
This is the 1st book I've read by this author but it definitely wont be the last
This book is Jax and Matty's story
Jax is out and proud, but due to a broken heart in the past he now has one rule... Never hook up with a closet case
Matty is a closet case, who broke his ex's heart when he refused to come out he wants a career in football and he thinks coming out will ruin his chances
They both go to the same school and meet through friends they are paired up in a class to work together on a project, from the first time the meet they are instantly attracted to one another and have an intense sexual chemistry.. you can feel the heat coming off these guys
They hook up but Jax brings it to a holt when he discovers Matty is not as straight as he 1st thought and finds out he is in fact gay and.... in the closet But the closer they get the harder it is to stay in the friend zone... Jax knows Matty wont come out of the closet and this whole thing will only end in heartbreak for him... once again
I really loved the story as a whole The characters are awesome, I felt I really got to know them and could feel every emotion coming off the pages The plot/story is brilliant, it gripped me from the get go and had everything you could want from a great book I will definitely read more books by this author.. I am hoping she writes more M/M
I definitely recommend this book It is a huge must read

Molto carino veramente, personaggi fantastici, una cerchia di amici fenomenali, genitori con la G maiuscola e tanto, tanto amore. Se è qui è perché mi piace, quindi... Per me è ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤
This was my first M/M read and it didn't disappoint at all. This sweet nerdy read will have you hooked on Ms. Neuhold's books. Jax is a bass player in a band studying to be a Psychologist who has had his heart shattered by a closet case and refuse to date another closet case. Matthew is the Quarterback and had his heart broken by his high school sweetheart so he vows to never get to close to falling in love again, but when he meets Lila's bass player Jax things being to spark from the start. Jax fights the chemistry the he and Matty have because he refused to date a closet case. Matty does everything he can besides coming out to prove he cares for Jax,but after a rude encounter with Jax in front of his teammate’s at a party Jax is left with the feeling that he must end his relationship with Matty because he can't held it. Will Matty come out and save their relationship or is it over?!?! You'll have to read this amazingly sex book to find out. ❤❤❤
I loved getting to know Matthew better in Closet Case. He had me laughing throughout Hard to Resist. You just couldn't help but fall a little bit in love with him. I'm so glad we learned more about him and his struggles in Closet Case.
This book touches on a subject that effects a lot of people. How someone can't be their true self because they are constantly worried about what others think. The underlying message in Closet Case is one that I hope people can take away something from it and not judge a person by their sexuality.
Matthew and Jax are the complete opposites. One is comfortable with his sexuality and has no problem flaunting it. The other is more subtle with it and keeps it behind closed doors. There is a definite attraction between both Matthew and Jax but they are both stuck. One refuses to have a relationship in the closet again - he was burned badly in the past - and the other is afraid of how he will be perceived by his fellow peers if he was to come out of the closet and be his true self. Can the two overcome this obstacle or will they go there separate ways?
I have once again come to love all the characters that KM Neuhold has created in the Sexy Nerd Boys Series. Matthew and Jax's story didn't disappoint me and was a hot, sexy read to top it off. Can't wait to get a hold of Chase's story!
Matty and Jax cracked me up! When Matty isn't hiding in the proverbial closet he is funny, flirty, and engaging. In public, however, he plays it as straight as they come. Jax is out and proud and the way he talks and dresses is magical! He wears these snarky graphic t-shirts and uses the most original phrases when he describes things. These two have amazing chemistry and are truly meant for each other but Matty refuses to come out. Will his desire for Jax change his mind or will he lose the only happiness he has truly known? Hilarity and steamy attraction made this book a super fun read.
3.5 stars.. An okay'ish read. The characters pasts were reversals of each others. The novella was a bit cliche as storylines go and a little predictable. I love this author but this one fell a little flat for me. Both guys fight their attractions and both their past Ex's return in scenes. Matthew was on the football team as a quarterback and because of this he hides in the closet. Jackson aka Jax was out and being set up by his friends with a closet case was not Jax's thing. Nope, but their chemistry wont let them forget a hot moment together.
Jax won’t go out with a closet case. Matty is a football player who doesn’t want to risk his career by coming out.
But, their attraction is undeniable, so they start a relationship. For Jax, Matthew is nothing like the last guy, who would barely talk to him. But, there are still moments when he’s not even supposed to be friends with Matty, in front of his team members.
Matty hates hiding not just Jax, but himself, and as the choice to come out becomes important, Matty realizes he won’t lose Jax like he did his first boyfriend.
I'm not sure what caught my eye about this book,c whether it was a Facebook ad or it was in an author newsletter but I'm so glad I did. It was a sweet, realistic story of two young men finding love and the challenges they faced. Just the right amounts of drama, silliness, sexy, friends and love. This is fourth in a series and I have not read the others but think I'll go back and check them out.
Um this story was A bit repetitive either your going to get on the wheel or not it had me in a spin, I didn't mind the MC's they had credibility it just felt like I was over reading the same motives. Once the story pushed on and I blocked that niggle out I found it a sweet read at the end. 3.5stars
I loved this story as it tell people what it’s really like being afraid of what others think of you especially in sports. I didn’t read the first three books since I’m not into MF books since I discovered MM books. But I loved all of the other books by this author
