Charlie Davies is about to face her worst she's going back to high school.
Following the death of a local schoolgirl, Charlie goes undercover to find out who is dealing drugs to students. Not only does this mean heading back to class, but she must also get to know the girl's friends - who happen to be cheerleaders. Time to break out the pom-poms.
While at school, Charlie runs into her ex-boyfriend, now a science teacher, and can't tell if he's just being friendly or if there's something a little off about him.
And naturally, police officer James McKenzie is working the case too - which is kind of awkward, seeing as he and Charlie haven't really spoken since The Incident.
This isn’t adding up to be a fun case. That's some maths even Charlie can do.
A hilarious sleuthing series for anyone who loves to laugh out loud on their crime-solving adventures. If you enjoy chick-lit murder mysteries with romance and a snarky heroine, give Charlie Davies a try!
Clare Kauter writes laugh-out-loud funny books across genres, including mystery, romantic comedy and paranormal fiction. She is known for her loveable hot mess characters, dubious puns and occasional (OK, frequent) inappropriate jokes.
Clare isn’t going to tell you where she lives, because she always finds it weird when other authors do that in their bio. Why would you care? Unless you’re a stalker, in which case it’s probably better if she doesn’t give you a head start.
At any given moment she’s probably sipping tea while hunched over her pink keyboard in a super attractive posture, writing her next book and snorting like a piglet at her own jokes.
Clare posts regularly on her blog – drop by and say hi!
I can't get enough of 'charmanders' antics! This has probably been my favourite Mystery so far, and I seriously Cant stop binge reading this series! Charlie is one of the funniest characters I've come across in a long time, and I love her voice and unique perspective of the world. Going back to highschool undercover to catch a meth dealer with nemesis turned friend turned kissing buddy, James McKenzie also undercover there as a teacher was a recipe for hilarious disaster. And boy did it deliver! And being her first official case as a licensed pi, charlie can't afford any mistakes, especially in the form of one James McKenzie. And I'm just going to add that from now on if I can't remember someone's name I will definitely be calling them 'old sport' because that is brilliant.
Charlie goes undercover at her old secondary school to uncover a drug ring. Taking away the reality that she's only two years out from attending there and was relatively infamous and the plan seems plausible. As usual, dangerous situations are mixed with Charlie's shenanigans. I almost don't want her to grow up at this point.
This is my 4th Charlie Davies book in two days!! I can't stop - "Charmander" is one of my favorite characters. She's hilarious, yet always manages to catch the killer, although not without being threatened herself. This time around Charlie goes undercover in her favorite place - her old high school. Being the Queen of one liners gets her into quite a bit of trouble. From there it is just one crazy bit after another. I found myself laughing out loud quite a bit of the time!!
