“Our lives are made up of moments, and I used to think it was only the big moments that made an impact, but now I know even the smallest of moments can change your life forever.”

Two years ago, tragedy struck for Elizabeth Shea, ensuring her life would never be the same. Unable to let go of the past and unwilling to face the future, she closed herself off from the world and the people who loved her most.

“It’s strange how the worst day of your life can become the very thing that changes it for the better.”

Brenden Scott chose to embrace the ugliness life can offer and help others find their way through the darkness, but it took a near fatal night for him to truly begin to embrace life.
Now, he lives his life in the moment, enjoying it to the fullest and taking nothing for granted.

When Elizabeth and Brenden meet, they’re drawn to each other and an unlikely friendship forms. Brenden breathes new life into her, while Elizabeth heals parts of him he didn’t even realize were broken.

Though Brenden knows pursuing her is a bad idea, he can’t resist her pull. When emotions get involved and the lines start to blur, they find themselves standing on opposite sides of the tracks.

Elizabeth is desperate to put the pain and heartbreak behind her—to find herself again—but will she be able to let go of the past or fears holding her back and learn to live in this moment?

In This Moment

A. D. McCammon

A. D. McCammon owes me a box of tissues! IN THIS MOMENT shredded my heart over and over again! What an emotional story this is! When I was finished reading I couldn't get Lizzy and Brenden out of my head and went through half a box of tissues thinking about them! I can honestly tell you this, I am going to read everything that A. D. McCammon has written and she will be an auto buy for me from now on. IN THIS MOMENT had my emotions all over the place and near the end, I was afraid to keep reading. I knew what was coming, knew it was going to shatter my heart and took a four hour break to prepare myself for what was going to wreck me!

IN THIS MOMENT is an unforgettable story that will grab you from the very first page. I was crying so much, happy and sad tears, while praying for Lizzy and Brenden. While reading I was even holding my breath at some parts and I was afraid to keep going. How much more heartache and grief could Lizzy put up with? A. D. McCammon's writing has made me a forever fan and I'm sure I will devour everything she has written or has yet to write. Her characters are not perfect, they all come with flaws but that won't stop you from falling in love with them. I can not wait to read more by this fabulous author and have my heart broken all over again.

Brenden is now my newest book boyfriend. Big surprise there huh? Once Lizzy knocked down the wall that he had put up, you find out he is a very loyal and fierce guy! Hang on, IN THIS MOMENT is one crazy, heart stopping ride! I wish I could leave ten stars for this beautiful and heart tugging story! Both Brenden and Lizzy weren't looking for love but sometimes it finds you weather you want it to or not. I still can not believe IN THIS MOMENT is a debut novel!

Once I started reading IN THIS MOMENT, I discovered that there's even more to this story than meets the eye. There's an added layer to it that I absolutely loved but that I won't mention because discovering it as you read is honestly the best. One of the things I love most about A.D. McCammon's writing is how deeply she makes me care for her characters and how strongly she makes me feel for them. Deception and pain, love and loss, secrets and truths, hope and redemption—they all twist and tangle together creating an unforgettable novel from one of the freshest voices in romance.

***Warning...Small spoilers***
What an emotional roller coaster this story was! But well worth the ride.
This story is about a woman named Elizabeth "Lizzy" Shea who is dealing with the loss of her husband after 2 years. She has 2 small children and every day is a challenge while still dealing with the pain of losing the man she loved to an accident. She meets Brenden Scott. Instantly there is a connection between these 2. Brenden Scott comes from a background of pain as well. Both of these people were not looking for love. But it found them. And we go along with them on this journey. Brenden wants to love Lizzy and give her every wonderful thing love has to offer. Lizzy is scared and keeps holding herself back.
This book had me crying, laughing, smiling and really thinking. The author did an amazing job of making the reader really feel everything. When the author describes Lizzy losing her husband, I was crying for her. When Brenden describes how much love hurts, I felt it. I will be honest I wanted to grab Lizzy a few times and shake her. She was the only thing standing in the way of her happiness.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who is dealing with anything in their life that is standing in the way of their happiness. Anyone who is dealing with the pain of love. Anyone who is dealing with the loss of someone. I recommend this to anyone! I loved this story and hope to read more from this author.

4 Stars to In This Moment by A.D. McCammon.

This book had my emotions all over the place. It was emotional, intense, angsty, sexy, sweet, and even frustrating at times. I'll add this book was well written and flowed nicely.

What frustrated me was Lizzy's inability to make up her mind regarding Brenden. Lizzy has issues that stem from the loss of her husband. Because of that her fears of commitment are understandable for a number of reasons. I understood her actions and how she felt, but after a while the constant hot and cold became frustrating and I found I could easily put this book down.

That said, Brenden was great and he saved this book for me. Was he perfect? No. Brenden had his own fears however, he realized much sooner that a relationship with Lizzy was worth fighting for.

There are a number of secondary characters that add charm and wit and even a touch of mystery which led me to believe there would be more books in this series.

I was thrilled with the ending and even more so that Lizzy and Brenden were able to let go their fears and give into their love.

This is my honest and unbiased review.

5 Star review for In This Moment by A.D. McCammon!! Having read her book Crushed I was already in love with the characters I just didn't know how much I was missing and I am so glad I picked this book up as well. Elizabeth and Brenden's story was remarkable from the start. It really made me think that love at first sight could happen as easy as it did in this book. Don't worry if you pick this book up before Crushed for they both can be read as a standalone.I highly recommend this book!- By Cheyenne

I read both this book and Crushed (another book from this author) back to back, so first things first, between In This moment and Crushed, In This Moment is my most favorite. I love both of the books but I really loved Lizzy and Brenden, they're perfect together and there connection and friendship felt natural. They both had dark parts in their pasts that held them back, but their friendship brought out the best of themselves and the best of what they could be when they finally opened up about things and talked.

They're passion for each other was evident from the beginning even when they were just friends. They're story moved with ease, and even though at times I found myself shaking my head at either Lizzy or Brenden I couldn't seem to let them go or not root for the both of them.

In This Moment will for sure leave you feeling happy even though there is a bit of sadness from their pasts, you'll still be happy. A.D. McCammon writes a beautiful contemporary love story, one you wont want to miss.

Review will be coming up shortly 💖 loved this book so much.

*****ARC received from author in exchange for an honest review*****

Wow! What an emotional ride this book was. I loved every moment of it.

“She said, “What’s the difference between the love of your life and you soulmate?” I let out of a sigh of relief when the Mud Vein quote causes his face to lighten, his smile widening as he begins to see my point. “One is a choice, and one is not” he replies, finishing the quote in the same way I had when I spoke to Allison.

This book has 2 epic love stories in it. And no, it’s not a love triangle or anything like it. It’s a story of finding the love of your life and finding your soulmate. It gripped me from the very first sentence in the prolog and had my attention and heart all throughout the book. The writing was fantastic that I felt everything along with the characters. The author had me laughing, crying, smiling along with the characters.

Lizzie and Brenden were very well written and very believable. They both had hardships in their lives and took different roads in life to come over them. Brenden is a sexy, very swoon worthy, and successful hero. Lizzie was the perfect damsel in distress who needed to be saved. Brenden walked into Lizzie’s life when she was at a very low point in her life. Life had dealt her a rather sad hand. Brenden by being stubborn and determined tore down the walls Lizzie had built around her heart and brought her back to the woman she used to be. She had become a shell of the woman she used to be, and I loved reading of the improvements that she made to herself. I loved reading how she fell in love again and just loved seeing the love she had for her children and how it started to change their lives and happiness for the better, when she started to let go of the sadness in her life.

Like I said, read this book, you’ll love it. This was A. D. McCammon’s debut novel and I can’t wait to see what she’s got in the store for us next.

I adored this book, unfortunately it was a book that I could put down. I loved Brenden's character and hated his childhood. Lizzy was very emotional given her past but wished she wasn't so back and forth, scared to move on with her life. I do wish the kids had more part in the story.
But for the author's first book, it was very well written and characters were great!! I can't wait to read her next book(s)!

I really loved this book! I went into it after reading the blurb, but didn't have super-high expectations since this is a new author. I absolutely love when a book exceeds my expectations! The book felt real- the characters, the situations, the emotions- and I genuinely cared about them! Brenden- oh my God, Brenden- was so much more! He had an awful upbringing, and he didn't think much of himself because of it. And Lizzy was a mess (and I say that in the most loving way), as you could imagine after what she has been through. They help each other heal and find happiness!

Definitely worth your time to read. I can't wait to read more from this author and in this series (I really want Allison and Jon's story!)!

The story of Brenden and Lizzy is a beautiful story about living life IN THIS MOMENT.
When Brenden first sees Lizsy, he is automatically drawn to her. Lizzy is such a mess it takes her several encounters with him to realize she feels the same pull, but it isn't something she wants to feel. Brenden has lots of walls to knock down if he wants to be with her. And for someone who doesn't do relationships, taking this risk is scary.

" Xander was a choice for me. I'd chosen to love him and put out an effort to make our relationship work. But I haven't had a choice with Brenden. It's like has a gravitational force I can't fight, but I always feel like it's where I should be when I am with him."

I loved the intense connection these two feel. The author makes you feel like you are living this intensity with them. I laughed, cried, and even shook my iPad a few times out of frustration! I stayed up half the night just to see the story unfold. Brenden and Lizzy's stories of their past grabbed my heart until the tears were pouring.

Brenden was such an amazing man and exactly what Lizzy needed. It was great to watch her emerge from a grieving widow, mother of two, to a woman wanting to love again.

This book deserves 5 stars plus!!

What an amazing debut novel by a very talented author. Let me just say how beautiful the front cover of this book is and believe me the story measures up to the front and so much more. I found the story of Lizzy and Brendan to be emotional, sweet and touching. So much so that it had me crying before chapter 3 had even started. I just found the charters so loveable and so easy to connect with, it was like watching their lives play out in front of you. For me it was a very well written book with a natural flow.

You ever read something that touches all of your broken parts? This is that book. It was beautifully sown together with hope, love and yummy Brenden. I'm late to the game. I've had this book sitting on my kindle since its release and yet never got around to reading it.🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ Boy, big mistake. Huge!! I won't be making that mistake again. This book has given me the worst book hangover. Did I mention it pulled real tears out of me? Yeah, hard to do with me. This is her debut novel and I know with this series, I've hit on many beautiful adventures ahead. I highly recommend this gem.❤️❤️❤️

This. Story. Was. Everything.

I'll be honest, I've had a crappy week. I needed something to take my mind off of everything that was going on, and this book did exactly that. I dived head first into Elizabeth and Brenden's story and never looked back. It tore my heart in two, I smiled, I laughed, I wanted to smack both of the characters and tell them how stupid they were being at times. But I needed this story and didn't even know it. I felt Lizzie's heartbreak, I felt the pain that she was feeling after losing her husband. This was complete and utter perfection from beginning to end.

What a great debut novel for this author. Such a touching, emotional and sweet read. The story flowed naturally and her characters were very relatable, a trait I tend to gravitate to. Hats off to you, A.D. McCammon for bringing this story to life. Looking forward to the next one.

I really enjoyed this story. Brenden and Lizzy were relatable characters and I loved how their relationship slowly blossomed. The banter between them was adorable and their serious moments pulled out the feels and squeezed my heart.

This book was filled with a lot of ups and downs on the emotions. It was a good read but I felt it moved slowly and I felt that the children needed a bigger part in the story than what they had.

Loved it!! <3 <3 Here we have a contemporary romance. Think of the movie "When Harry met Sally." In This Moment by A.D. McCammon has put a twist on the theme from When Harry met Sally, instead of funny moments there is heartache. “Our lives are made up of moments, and I used to think it was only the big moments that made an impact, but now I know even the smallest of moments can change your life forever.”-Elizabeth Shea
Two years ago, tragedy struck for Elizabeth Shea, ensuring her life would never be the same. Unable to let go of the past and unwilling to face the future, she closed herself off from the world and the people who loved her most. Then Brenden came into her life, he has his demons too but can they help each move on and be in the moment and not the past?
Elizabeth (Lizzy) was a great character who couldn't move on in her life after tragedy struck, she couldn't even be there for her two kids. You could feel her pain though and understand where she was coming from do to the A.D. McCammon's writing. Brenden was a guy who didn't really want relationships, just good times. Understanding Brenden would mean that whatever made him this way was a development from his childhood. This is where A.D. McCammon has you wondering what that is exactly. The two main characters start out as friends with boundaries set by Lizzy and Brenden will do what he can to break those boundaries but will it be enough?
Go on this journey with Lizzy and Brenden to see if it was destiny that brought them together or friends who can be more without it being complicated like 'When Harry met Sally". If you love a romance with you'll love this one even though it is sad it will get better. This was a great read you are drawn in to see what happens to the end.

I liked this book too much! And specially when is well written.
New author for me are like fresh air, I enjoy them I try to breathe them. This author created a beautiful story, with so much pain and love at the same time.
Opportunities to heal, to forgive and forget.
Elizabeth and Brenden were a perfect couple, the balance between love and suffering but with healing.
There was too much too heal in her and so much love to give from him. Omg!! His background was like "seriously? I want to hug you!!!" I work with kids and they are my weakness. My god, even if I wanted to tel her "Move on!you deserve this!" and slap her( in a good way? I really saw or tried to see for all the pain that she went through when she lost her husband.
I don't want to tell too much about this. I did fell so many emotions and that's what I love from books like this. I really rather to love through the story and break my heart so I the end could say that I lived.
You won't regret this book, I liked.

I absolutely loved this book and truly enjoyed the characters. You have one character that knows what its like to love and be loved, and another who has never felt loved and has also been against falling in love. One has scars you can see, the other has scars that runs so deep it affects the heart. Life has a way of throwing people in our paths that are meant to change our lives. Things change when their eyes connect; it's almost as if they are bonded together in some way, but they have a bumpy road ahead of them and what a joy it is to read their journey. Their past affects their present, but can their love for each other be strong enough for them to pursue a future together? I enjoyed this book from beginning to the very end. This is the first book I've read from this author and I have no regrets. I look forward to reading more of her books. This is the perfect book for readers looking for a fantastic second chance romance read.

This is the first book of A.D.mcCammons that I have read and my first thought at the end of chapter one was how real this book felt.

it's hard to explain but having gone through a similar experience to the main character Lizzie I felt the story flowed fantastically and found myself recognising alot of what she went through.

I don't know if this story was written from experience of just researched very well but I applaud it for its realism.

The characters Lizzie and Brenden were easy to love and as they danced the dance of will they won't they I always found I wanted them to get peace of mind and love.

Two broken souls fixing each other together in a beautifully told, sad but soulful tale of a lost love and uncertain future.

Such a beautiful story. Heartbreaking to read at some points, fun to read at others. Lizzy drove me nuts with her always freaking out and the pushing and pulling, the back and forth emotions, but I completely understood her reasons. Brenden saved the story for me. He made it easier to cope with Lizzy, and once she opened up, I adored her. There were so many moments that I wanted to cry, and so many that made me giggle. I loved all the song and movie references, and definitely the Mudvein one. I loved her friends and family, and I loved the ending most of all!

In This Moment is a sweet story of loss and heartbreak and redeeming love and second chances. I related to the MC, Lizzy, in her reluctance to open up and her focus on everything but letting someone in to help heal her wounds. She has that "pile everything on my plate, I can handle it" attitude, and I respected and felt for her.

What I didn't expect was to relate to the hero, Brenden. His backstory added a depth and grittiness I was craving, and I loved that he selflessly and relentlessly pursued Lizzy's heart. Overall, ITM was a sweet read with a heartwarming ending.

This was my first A.D. McCammon book, I won a copy in a facebook giveaway and was intriguied by the blurb. I love the two person narration, you are able to get into the mind of both the male and female protagonist. And not only that but the author also uses flashbacks expertly to give the reader a well-rounded picture of how the characters have developed and what lead them to their present state.

Lizzy and Brendan, love them! I just cant enough how amazing their friendship is and they come together. This was a great read and I am definitely interested in reading more from A.D. McCammon.

In This Moment was a very touching book, and by "touching" I meant that I bawled my eyes out at the beginning of the book. This author has such an amazing way of getting you to really connect with the main character (Lizzy) and to really empathize with how she was feeling. It was kind of hard for me to read in the beginning, because I kept thinking how I would feel if I'd be in Lizzy's situation. I felt that all of the characters were well developed in the book and found it very easy to picture the story playing out in my mind. I highly recommend this book.

Lizzy and Brenden connect in a way they haven't with anyone else. She's currently dealing with a horrible loss and he's been dealing with crap from when he was a child. They are both drawn to one another like magnets, but she's so afraid. This was an emotional read and I loved every single page of it. I can't wait to read more. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Phenomenal

“I believe sometimes we must go through the bad to get to the good. Our scars, the physical and emotional ones, can be a road map leading us to our destiny.” Those word is what make this book a phenomenal read. Lizzy and Brendon stole my heart from the first word till the last. Their story is raw and real.

This book belongs in the category of the UGLY CRY. Mcammon is brilliant. She writes about every human emotion. About love and beginning again. About rising from the ashes of tragedy and living again.
