Ayla leads a double life. By day she is a respectable businesswoman working for her family business, Greenstar Industries. By night, she is the notorious air pirate known as Cheyenne. Thus far she has managed to keep her two lives separate from her longtime boyfriend Jake, who is a Jaeger of the Consortium.
After a night of passion, Jake uncovers clues that connects Ayla to her alter-ego... his nemesis... and he launches an investigation. Despite being torn between his love for her and his duty to the Consortium. Not one for sitting still, Ayla flees New Eden in search of her next target, a visiting dignitary with some very shady dealings.
As Ayla leads Jake in a chase across the Island Confederacy of Elysium, Jake begins to learn that there is more to his girlfriend than meets the eye. In her own warped way, Ayla introduces him to her lifestyle and shows him that things are not as simple as he makes them out to be. Jake is forced to team up with Ayla and this causes him to war with his inner self.
Will he do what is demanded by the Consortium and bring her in? Or will he listen to his heart and follow her where she goes?
Will Ayla be able to live with a Jaeger for the rest of her life, or will she do the impossible and convince him to leave the Consortium for good?
DieselJester is the internet pen name of a gamer and free writer who is now journeying into the world of steampunk erotica. He has been writing creatively in the forums of fan fiction, play by email, and other venues since the age of 12. He has written a variety of stories for LitErotica.com and developed a strong fan base due to his creative plots (sexy vampires and more!) and unique steampunk elements.
Life in the Consortium is hard when you're a notorious air pirate known for taking down illegal slave traders (vs. the contractually bounded and highly regulated legal kind of slave trading) and your boyfriend is also Jaeger hot on your trail. The second book set in a futuristic steam punk alternate universe, Cheyenne is a fast paced, easy read.
The style pulls from the pages the pulps and penny dreadfuls to good effect. The trope of using defining quotes from "If I were an evil overlord" to define each chapter really worked for me. I found the saucy bits entertaining and well written, generally advancing the story.
