I’ve never been afraid of the dark...but that doesn’t mean I wanted to live in it. And maybe everyone wants what they can’t have, but I should’ve thought it over before I accepted the key and unlocked the door to their forbidden world.

Number One is mostly silent. He watches me with them very carefully. His gaze never wanders. His interest never wanes.

Number Two is mostly gentle. But it’s the other side of him I like best. The wild side.

Number Three is mostly reserved. He refuses to cross the line. Even when I beg.

It was carnal, it was sensual, and it was erotic. That’s it. That’s all it was supposed to be. A trip into the dark. A peek into the forbidden.

I just didn’t expect to like them.

*****
I heard the door open and close and said nothing. And the footsteps coming down the hallway towards the bedroom. I even heard him say, “Hey.” So softly. “You awake?” Like he didn’t want to wake me.

I listened as he stepped into the closet. There was that slick sound a man makes when he pulls his tie through his shirt collar. I heard the unclasping of his watch. The jingle of his belt buckle and the shuffle of his pants as they dropped to the floor.

I even heard his moan as he stood over me. I could feel his shadow from the streetlamp outside like it was heat.

Then the bed creaked, the mattress sank. And his warm, hard body straddled me.
Still, I said nothing.

I just buried my face in the sweet scent of the pillow and closed my eyes, feigning sleep.

“Rochelle,” he whispered, leaning over me. His fingertips gently brushed the hair away from my shoulder. His mouth pressed against my skin. “Did you miss me? God, I’ve missed you. Two weeks is too long. We need to renegotiate.”

He nipped my neck. Kissed it. Licked my ear as he positioned himself to begin.

And I said… nothing.

Even though my name is not Rochelle.
That’s why I’m here. Tied up and gagged inside the closet. Sitting in the dark as three men on the other side of the door argue about where Rochelle went, why I was in her bed, and what they should do next.

I should be scared but I’m not.

I should be screaming, but I won’t.

Because this just feels very, very right.

And the only thing on my mind is… what will happen next?

J.A. Huss never wanted to be a writer and she still dreams of that elusive career as an astronaut. She originally went to school to become an equine veterinarian but soon figured out they keep horrible hours and decided to go to grad school instead. That Ph.D wasn’t all it was cracked up to be (and she really sucked at the whole scientist thing), so she dropped out and got a M.S. in forensic toxicology just to get the whole thing over with as soon as possible.

After graduation she got a job with the state of Colorado as their one and only hog farm inspector and spent her days wandering the Eastern Plains shooting the shit with farmers. After a few years of that, she got bored. And since she was a homeschool mom and actually does love science, she decided to write science textbooks and make online classes for other homeschool moms. She wrote more than two hundred of those workbooks and was the number one publisher at the online homeschool store many times, but eventually she covered every science topic she could think of and ran out of shit to say.

So in 2012 she decided to write fiction instead. That year she released her first three books and started a career that would make her a New York Times bestseller and land her on the USA Today Bestseller’s List eighteen times in the next three years. Her books have sold millions of copies all over the world, the audio version of her semi-autobiographical book, Eighteen, was nominated for a Voice Arts Award and an Audie award in 2016 and 2017 respectively, her audiobook Mr. Perfect was nominated for a Voice Arts Award in 2017, and her book, Taking Turns, was nominated for an Audie Award in 2018. Johnathan McClain is her first (and only) writing partner and even though they are worlds apart in just about every way imaginable, it works.

She lives on a ranch in Central Colorado with her family.

OMG! I could literally feel the life draining out of me as I read this book!

Here are three words to describe this story:

1: Impersonal.

2: Dispassionate.

3: Emotionless.

Even towards the end of this book, I tried to care about the heroine's tragic and messed up "reveal," but it just didn't feel right, I just couldn't. I had given all that I already had! This story asked too much of me and took too much out of me.

I now no longer feel healthy...

This is the second "ménage" story I've read by this author that made me feel this way and I was supposed to learn my lesson from the first time. (Three, Two, One)

If you are looking for romance or even good sex scenes, this isn't the story for you.

Here, you won't find intimate sex scenes where characters connect, not even in a lustful manner.

No.

Not at all.

Here, you'll only find IKEA sex, where things go "in and out" then the story goes on as if it never happened.

Fuck!

*rips hair off.*

There's even a point in the story where they're having sex and the heroine's inner monologue goes,

"In and out. In and out..."

As if we don't fucking know how SEX WORKS!!

Here, you'll find a bunch of characters who "do" things and don't really "feel" things.

There's a lot of "telling" in this, almost no "showing," especially during what are supposed to be the most "intimate" moments in the book.

No one loves each other or even "likes" each other, with the exception of one of the heroes (Quin) who keeps insisting and annoyingly reminding us how much he is in love with some "Rochelle."

Mind you, this ROCHELLE isn't even in this fucking book.

She's a character who's not even in the fucking book and I hate her so much.

Every time her name gets mentioned, I want to puke.

And the story starts with one of the men having sex with the heroine in the dark, and it was the best sex scene in the whole book, frankly, but every time that little event is mentioned later on in the story, it's for the hero to remind us how much he resents the heroine for having been there in the place of his precious fucking "ROCHELLE!"

Do you want an even further explanation on how emotionless and painfully empty this story left me?

Imagine watching a child playing with dolls, making the dull plastic things walk and talk, but since those dolls are not humans, you feel no attachment to their story as you watch them, especially since the characters THEMSELVES don't even feel attached to their own stories!

Well, that's what this story was.

The author was playing with dolls.

Dead dolls.

It was morbidly life-draining.
This story is evil.

It drained me of everything because it had NOTHING...no substance of its own, therefore it steals yours as you read it then leaves you nearly catatonic at the end.

EVIL!

(Do you know what I just realized? That "Rochelle" is the only character that made me feel even a sliver of anything. I still felt like I was dying but at least, I hated her. And she wasn't even in the book!!!!)

Everything hurts now.
Thanks a lot, author.

WARNING: This is a foursome story. If you're under 18 years old, I wouldn't recommend this book to you... You’re so young for this shit. Ok? So PLEASE, PLEASE STAY AWAY! ;)

OH MY GOD! I feel like a pervert right now but this book literally and properly FUCKED me. :D

From beginning to the end this book made me so hot & so wet and I’m really fucking horny right now and probably when I go back to home, I’m gonna jump on to my husband. :D Yeah, did I said this book made me hot & wet? My goodness, I don’t remember when was the last time some book give me those feelings but God, please have mercy on my vagina but I really, really enjoyed this book. :D And now I’m dying to read 2nd book… Thank God, we won’t wait too long… :)

Ps. If you’re okay with a dirty and hard fuck, I highly recommend this book because, J.A. Huss knows how to blow your ovaries. And you should really meet and experience all this three man. :D

Smith: The silent one. He always watches you and you can never quess what will he do to you.. (He's my favorite...) :)

Quin: He's sweet & caring but when you ask him to get wild, he'll push all the good buttons of yours. :D

Bric : He's Kinky! :D Well, I should have pick Bric, because normally I love kinky guys but Smith, really surprised me. So I picked Smith! :D

”Peek into the forbidden”

description

This deliciously hot, erotic novel is completely saturated in suspense. I was eagerly reading to find out more about each of these characters. The delivery is fantastic, the sex scenes intense, and the mystery exciting.

description

I’m not a menage, nor a threesome reader, however, J.A. Huss grabbed my attention from the first chapter. The story starts off with one of the three hot friends who “take turns” with a woman of their choosing finding out that she has disappeared and in her place is Chella. The book is written in a four-person pov which totally works. So right off the bat, I questioned why did Rochelle leave? How does Rochelle know Chella? Then there are all of the questions about each one of these three men Bric, Smith, and Quin. Can I have Smith? Does Quinn really miss Rochelle? How brutal can Bric be with whip and does he have a secret room? How come nobody in my zip code even halfway resembles any of these men’s descriptions to at least look at?

description

Chella, our heroine is from a wealthy family and so her reasons for seeming to want to take over for Rochelle (who was in this quad relationship for three years) is a big mystery as well. Chella is very likable and all three guys offer her an opportunity to enter into this relationship and play their game of “Taking Turns”.

”Working together, finding common ground, and making decisions that are best for the group, not the individual. What you want doesn’t matter. What Smith and Quin want doesn’t matter. The only thing that matters is us. And once you figure out what us is, you’ll know what it’s really like to live. I promise you. You’ll know, and you’ll never go back to singular relationships. They’ll feel hollow and simple. You will be addicted to us and we’ll be addicted to you. It’s a disease, Chella. And you’re sick as fuck, just like us.”

description

Each of the men assumes one of three roles in the relationship. These three roles are super interesting and made the ‘game’ of it more intoxicating and alluring.

”If you want to go dark, go dark. Don’t take a light.”

description

These men were layered and simply yummy though Smith was my FAV. Thus this book is going on my Book Boyfriend Shelf. I simply adored everything about this character!

description

I did assume that this story ended with a cliffhanger. Yet when I got to the end and it didn’t, I took off a star. I felt that ‘their story’ wrapped up way too quickly for my tastes I wanted a cliffhanger and wished ‘their story’ had more to it in the end. Thus my rating isn’t a full 5 Star for the fact that I so wanted more and it seemed rushed. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series to see what J.A. Huss has up her sleeve!

”Nothing lasts forever. Not even the thrill of taboo lust.”

I read this all the while wishing I was Chella, that lucky beech! Is it hot in here?

This is my first book by JA Huss and what a ride. Phew. Deducted one star because of the sloppy ending.

4.5 What A Game Stars

When I read the blurb for this book I knew I was going to enjoy it, I was immediately intrigued.

 photo intrigue_large_zpshuukhfrz.gif

After reading so many books it's always fun and exciting when you read one with a totally different plot/concept than you've read before, this book gave me that.

Three smoking hot but very different Alpha's, one girl to take turns with.
Smith - Acts like he cares about nothing, is beyond rich, plays the bad boy (very well).
Quin - Was in love with Rochelle, comes across as a big softy but that does change in the bedroom.
Bric - Is the take care of the problem's type guy, likes to talk things through, is not wanting any deep relationships and likes his sex ruff.

I fell hard for smith with his nasty attitude and broody behaviour. I always fall for the nasty ones *lol*. I would happily take Bric too ;)

It all starts with Rochelle in the 'game' but after three years she feels the need to get out. Instead of telling the guys she finds a substitute Chella to take her spot. What a welcome Chella got!!!

 photo notwhatgoodgirlsdo_zpsjxndhn3f.gif

I felt sorry for Quin through the whole book as he tried to figure out why Rochelle left the game when she had said she loved him. We get the answers at the end but are also left with more questions.

 photo dandelion_zps8nbbcazi.gif

At first Chella seems to be in the game for the fun of it and the ultimate sexual experience. There is so much more to her story and a very sad and upsetting reason for her entering the taking turns game.

I went into this thinking Yay another hot menage, yes please!! I was very wrong, this was no standard manage. This has some hot scene's but not at all what I was thinking it had so many emotional elements to it that made it about so much more than sex. I was however a little upset with some 'sex' scenes that seemed to be skimmed over missing the juicy good bits.

I can see that this book will not be for everyone as it does have a lot of 'sharing' or sex with different partners. However it is by no means cheating in my book and is not explainable without giving too much away.

I highly recommend this book to people who don't mind multiple partners or sharing and people who are after a 'different' and 'original' plot.

TAKING TURNS: is a twisted new series from the talented author J.A Huss, a delightfully sinful read. I’ve read a few of this authors books but this one just looked delicious!! Spoken in multiple POV’S (Cella, Quin, Smith & Bric) which I love, we get to read all the dirty naughty little thoughts running through their minds. This author did a fantastic job bringing these four different personalities to life, each with their own voice brought together as one unity.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Number One is mostly silent.
Number Two is mostly gentle. But it’s the other side of him I like best. The wild side.
Number Three is mostly reserved.

Going into this I wasn't too sure what to expect, I never expected to love it as much as I did, I never expected to fall so deeply in lust with each of these characters like I did.

This story surrounds Smith, Bric and Quinn each had the perfect set up with their pet Rochelle, then out of the blue with no warning she just ups and leaves after three years of dating them. Now the rules of their contract that they all signed three years ago comes into effect.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

They can not look for her
She will never enter the doors of ‘Turning Point’ again
And If she sees any of the men on the streets neither are to acknowledge the other, no words are to be exchanged.

Only problem is that one man broke all the rules and fell in love with her. But she did leave something behind in her place, a replacement named Chella.

This is where it all starts getting all hot and juicy

It all comes down to the game that’s played out at the ‘Turning Point Club’
amongst three men who have their preferences when it comes to exploring their sexuality and the woman who want to play with them, three hot alpha men that have no qualms when it comes to sharing their woman.

Number One is mostly silent.
Number Two is mostly gentle. But it’s the other side of him I like best. The wild side.
Number Three is mostly reserved.

The build up to when it comes recruiting thirty year old Cella is slow going but is overall vital to the story and gives us more in depth knowledge of how this game unfolds.

A time table is set up where each man has Cella two nights of the week, Sundays are the only days off she has to herself.

Quin ( Monday & Tuesday)
Bric ( Wednesday & Thursday)
Smith ( Friday & Saturday)

A step into the forbidden, hot carnal filthy sex with three men, when the four are together all rules are non existent.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic I watch, fascinated by the world they've created here in the middle of downtown Denver. A secret world. A forbidden world.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Number one is there to deny you. Absence makes the heart grow fonder.
Number two i there to satisfy you after the abstinence.
Number three is there to give you what you really want.

Each player in this game has their own agenda. Each chapter is solely focused on each character.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic Quin is handsome in a very different way than Bric or Smith. They are both polished and serious. But he’s the fun version. The wild version. The happy version.

Taking Turns wasn’t solely focused around the sexual adventures of these characters, because each chapter was focused on each characters POV it strikes a deeper connection with these individuals like no other book I’ve read before. This book has been the best I have read by this author, I can not tell you how much I loved it, loved the all consuming deep connection I had with each and every character this book focused on. And like others that have read this book I too can not wait for the next book of this series, this was an epic way to start it off.

And then I reached the end of the book and it ended in a cliffy and left me hanging there desperately in need of the next book in this series..I highly highly recommend this!!

I had no idea what to expect when I picked this book up, all I knew was that it sounded hot as hell and since I know JA Huss writes the dirtiest and most delicious sex scenes, I had an inkling I might like it.

Turns out, I bloody loved it! Not only was it one of the most erotic books I have read in a while, it was such a clever and intriguing story, the suspense was killing me and I loved the whole relationship between the 'quad'.

Smith, Bric, and Quin are three friends who love to share women, but not only that, they like to take turns being a boyfriend to their chosen lady, spending two days a week each with her. Each of them have different qualities, and offer sex, companionship, friendship, and even love, in many different ways.

When after three years, Rochelle disappears, she leaves behind another woman in her stead, Chella. Chella is a mystery to the three men, and also to us, the reader - I had so much fun trying to work her out, she was a fantastic heroine, very sassy and confident, but with many secrets and insecurities buried beneath.

Although this book doesn't end on a cliffhanger, there is still so much more to know, and I can't wait to continue with this series - I totally recommend this to anyone who doesn't mind menage/threesomes, and I will say that this story does end happily, I couldn't be more pleased with how it turned out.

Taking Turns is the first in a new series, and can be read as a standalone (but you will want more) Told from multiple POV's

Genre: Erotic/Romantic Suspense
Type: Book 1 of Turning series
POV: Multiple
Rating:

Marcella (Chella) Walcott's life turned into an erotic fantasy when she entered into carnal agreement with three distinctive men. As they took turns with her, hearts became entangled and rules became blurred.

I know addiction to the dark when see it. And she’s a junkie.

At first I wasn't sure if I like Chella because she seemed shady. But as I get to know her better, I like her boldness in getting what she wanted.

"We’re not bad guys. We just like to have some really sick sex.”

The three men had their own individual appeal. One was the quiet observer with an eye for more. Two was sweet, seemingly safe one until he bared his teeth. Three was level headed with a side of kink.

The story was interesting and filled with mystery and suspense. At times it was confusing with so many questions and never ending rules, but I'm glad it somewhat made sense by the end of the story.

I’m a selfish asshole. I want everything for myself. It’s in my blood. It’s part of my charm.

I've always like multiple POV because I'm the type of reader who needs constant stimulation. However, a few times I had to recheck the chapter to confirm whose POV I was reading because they were not distinctive enough to differentiate the characters - which in turn made me felt less connection with them than I like.

The moans coming from my mouth are so sensual, so erotic, and filthy, I wish I was recording them so I could play them for Smith and we could masturbate to the sound of my orgasm with Quin.

Coming into this book I expected hot between the sheet (or up against the wall :p ) sex scenes. It certainly delivered in that sense. But because I'm a dirty slut (like what the men would say lol!), I thought it would be more filthy. I guess moderation is good for the soul haha!

Taking Turns delves into the taboo world of ménage relationship. The sexy suspense story would appeal to readers looking for an erotic escape.

I'd say 2.5 stars....At times it was good, sometimes a little ridiculous, other times it was hot and dirty!
It had a plot - not well developed or completely believable. The characters were mostly lovable but overcame difficulties too quickly. Also, I found all of the sex scenes underdeveloped and flat.
For more than half the book, my feelings were 4 stars. But after I finished it, they dropped due to plot weaknesses.

5 MAKING DREAMS COME TRUE STARS

Ooh, this was good. Seriously, three men, one woman?! What woman doesn't want more than one man, if only in her dreams?

Three men, each of them giving you something different: what you crave, what you need and what you never knew you wanted.

Smith, Bric and Quin, these boys are naughty, dirty, in fact, downright filthy. And I couldn't get enough of them. Julie weaves her magic with a compelling, original story and this one was OFF-THE-CHARTS HOT!!!!

One observes and can't touch

One dominates

One's fun and gentle

Truthfully, I was intrigued by both Chella and Rochelle's stories and I did want to know all the details, but if Julie had left me hanging on that part,

I'd still be satisfied. Just the taking turns, quad dynamic was riveting, entertaining and left me spent.

➦Not entirely what I've expected but loved it still. From the cover some might assume this book is about a gang bang of epic proportions but it's pretty far from it. This book is about 3 men being in an arrangement of sorts with a woman. They each have her on certain days and each of them has a role they play. It's a pretty interesting dynamic.

➦So what happens when said woman one day just vanishes? After all, the rules state that she can walk away any time, no questions asked. Should be easy enough to move on and start a new relationship with a replacement, right? But what if one of them can't move on? And what if said replacement is a complete game changer?

➦So many questions, I know. If you want to know how this interesting arrangement plays out certainly don't hesitate to pick this book up. This novel is definitely erotic in parts but you won't find any straight to the point super hardcore action. If you're looking for that then this is probably not it. It is, however, all about the build up and interesting sexual dynamic as well as separate background developments of four characters.

A bold, wickedly sinful exploration of our deepest and darkest sexual fantasies and desires. J.A. Huss continues to do what she does best. She pushes your button, your comfort level, and leaves a lasting impression. For some, it may leave a bitter aftertaste but for readers like myself, it leaves me wanting more. More of her scintillating and tantalizing prose. More of her raw and demanding characters. And more of her unexpected storyline.

photo 781fe61fff1d64b95a6440e6032b11_zpsluv7jclu.gif She likes the forbidden world we live in. And she wants to be a part of it, whether she realizes it or not.”

Do you like the dark? If so, get ready to fall in love and be engrossed in a story that is beyond our wicked imagination where forbidden meets pleasure. Dominance meets submissiveness. Lust meets desire. And where sex is the key to unlocking the doors of three different men. So are you ready to discover why Taking Turns might not be so bad after all?

#TakingTurns

Number One is mostly silent. He watches me with them very carefully. His gaze never wanders. His interest never wanes.Number Two is mostly gentle. But it’s the other side of him I like best. The wild side.Number Three is mostly reserved. He refuses to cross the line. Even when I beg. Three friends who happens to share one woman. Yes, if you are not fan of menage then this book is definitely not for you. But if you are brave enough to step out of your comfort zone and explore an erotic fantasy come to life then let me tell you why Taking Turns is absolutely brilliant and visceral.

As the daughter of a US Senator, Marcella Walcott should be the definition of prim and proper but when Chella decides to exchange places with Rochelle, the current play toy of Smith Baldwin, Quin Foster, and Elias Bricman, Chella discovers that being part of a dirty sexual agreement with these three men might not be so bad after all especially each has their own sexual rules and proclivities. Chella loves sex. This taking turns was supposed to be an exploration of her need for the dark and to satisfy her carnal erotic desires.

But what happens when being in the dark gets sprinkled in with light? Will Chella discover why this dirty sexual game of Taking Turns can get complicated especially when feelings, friendship, and possibly love begins to emerge? And what happens truth of Rochelle’s disappearance is revealed? Will either men want to take turns with Chella after her secret has been exposed?

photo 781fe61fff1d64b95a6440e6032b11_zpsluv7jclu.gif Because if I fuck you first without the other guys involved, then you’d be mine and not ours. And I’m more interested in ours than mine.”

Taking Turns is the reason why I love reading JA’s books. First and foremost, it’s because JA Huss does not give a shit what people think of her books. She writes stories that are unique and in turn readers like myself flock to her characters and stories because she continues to have readers begging for more. She may not realize it but she begs readers to embrace the dark, the light, and whatever shades of colors that may be shining through. This book is utterly brilliant in a sense because she gave these four characters a voice that was different and allowed each of their personality to be spotlighted. No character was in the shadows. Each and every character were stripped and had their raw vulnerability, darkest desires, and thoughts exposed. So if you are looking for a story that was magnetic, sinful, bold, and erotic then I urge you to read Taking Turns.

Marcella “Chella” Walcott is a gallery manager searching to fulfill her darkest and most suppressed fantasy. Believing she’s found a way to make it happen, she’s thrust into a dynamic that has many rules but the temptation is just too much to resist despite her own trepidations.

“We’re all dirty here. Be dirty with us, Chella…”

In addition to Chella, there are three other deviant players in this game of lust: Smith Baldwin the eccentric philanthropist, Elias “Bric” Bricman the logical dominant and Quin Foster the warm and fuzzy marketing executive. These men have been friends for some time and share a common bond in their need for certain sexual activities. Each has his own role to play so there can be more than one winner.

“It’s carnal, and sensual, and erotic… That’s all it is. A small trip into the dark.”

As Chella agrees to be a player, the rules are slowly revealed and she realizes just how complicated it might be. Taking turns with Smith, Quin and Bric, she learns more about each of them and their own sexual proclivities. While feeling like she is a part of them, the attraction builds as it is leading to the big moment where they all come together as a whole.

“Then let’s do it,” I say, kissing her softly again. “Put them both in your mouth, Chella. Suck them. At the same time.”

What ensues between these four daring people is alluring, sexy and mysterious. However, there are questions that remain concerning the one person who brought these four characters together. As the foursome dynamic starts to shift, it becomes clear one of these dashing men have true feelings for Chella. While he lives by his own rules, he learns that some rules are meant to be broken. But it takes more than one person to break free in order to fully move forward.

“If you want to go dark, then don’t take a light, right?”

As soon as I started reading Taking Turns, I remembered how easily J.A. Huss weaves a web where anything can happen at any moment! At times, it felt like the story was emitting synapses filled with electricity and other times, I was anxiously waiting for that pulsing connection. The premise is certainly intriguing and the alternating perspectives between these four characters created a voice for each one, though I was hoping to get a little more about these mysterious men. As the plot pivots in a certain direction, I was interested to see how it would translate outside of the quartet. With the ending, the plot is fairly resolved (not leaving a huge cliffy) but more answers are to be revealed in the second book in this series.

Overall, I enjoyed the lusty moments and the originality of this story. For those interested in taking a dip into the kinky pool, I recommend Taking Turns.

5 Taking Turns Stars –❤ ARC ❤

Wow, I am in awe really. I didn't think any book could beat out my favorite by this author which is Meet Me in the Dark but I was wrong. This book is fabulous.

It’s about the game and the puzzle and the pieces and the relationships. I never knew what was going to happen, you’re along for the ride and when you get to the end you’re smiling. Because not only was the ride phenomenal but the result is 10x better then you could have ever thought and more.

That is how I feel about this book. I finished it literally minutes ago and I want to reread it. I want to experience it all, all over again.

Its more than 4 people finding out what they want, it’s a game and games always have rules but rules are meant to be broken. Right?

Or you make up your own as you go along.
Secrets and lies, always have a way of come out when we least expect them to, and then it’s having to deal with the fall out. Learning the truth and accepting it are not always easy but sometimes necessary for one’s happiness.

I guess I will leave the review off with one last question of sorts.

“What is your dream?”

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

4.5 Stars!
I loved this one and can't wait for more!! That damn epilogue! Shit! I should say this book didn't end on a cliff. The epilogue was like a teaser for the next book. lol You will understand better after you read it:)

The game!
Three men and one woman. Each man will spend two nights a week with her. There are rules that have to be followed while they each are alone with her but when they're all four together there are no rules!

“Number One is there to deny you. Absence makes the heart grow fonder. Number Two is there to satisfy you after the abstinence. Number Three is there to give you what you really want—Number One, with conditions.”

At first I was so confused by these men and their rules and hell everything. But after a while you sort of get the hang of it. lol Or you go get some wine like me and think you know what's going on. Haha!!

WooooooWeeeeee!!!! Books like these make me nervous and they make me fucking drink! Ugh!!!

I'm so happy how things turned out and I'm so curious to see what will happen next. I defiantly went and preordered the next book due out April 12, 2017:))

This was my pleasure filled reading experience for the weekend. I haven't read any heavily erotic novels for quite a while and I think that JA Huss has reawakened my appetite for them with this indulgent form of escapism.

'It was carnal, it was sensual, and it was erotic. That's it. That's all it was supposed to be. A trip into the dark. A peek into the forbidden. I just didn't expect to like them.'

Bric, Smith and Quin have been friends for a long time. They are all members at The Turning Point, a gentlemen's club. This is a place where men (and women) can fulfill their sexual needs in a private without their friends, colleagues or wives ever knowing.

In addition to this, Bric, Smith and Quin like to have a special arrangement in place with a female of their choosing. One they like to share with each other. They have rules in place for all involved, this protects all of them, and at any point the arrangement can cease.

Think of any sexual fantasy you have EVER had and then take that fantasy one step further - you will then begin to get an understanding of what happens in this story.

Chella enters into a 'taking turns' arrangement with all three men. A quad relationship. They are all very good looking, have high sexual libidos and love to give their woman pleasure. Yet they are all very different and they each have very specific tastes when it comes to their sexual desires. Each one of them has their own relationship with Chella which in turn fulfills her needs.

'Taking Turns isn't really a game, is it? It's a lifestyle.'

Not everything is always what it seems though, hidden agendas are being acted on and a few lies are being told. Chella is beginning to figure out if her fantasies are as good as their reality. Feelings are starting to invade the arrangement and jealousy decides to join the party too. You know that saying be careful what you wish for......

This is the hottest, erotic, dirtiest book I have ever read and I loved EVERY minute of it.

JA Huss takes you on a wildly erotic ride with her latest release. Bound to stir up the romance world with her take on erotic romance. You may have read a ménage romance before, but you’ve never read one like this. There is no skirting the edge of the forbidden, there is only plunging yourself into the darkness and enjoying every heart-stopping minute of this thrilling erotic ride.

FUCK. This book leaves a wet spot. What can I even say? I’ve been waiting for this book since May of 2016. At a crowded table at a restaurant after the Chicago books signing, Julie let it slip, the title of the new series she was going to release in 2017. I was on a high from the Mister’s series and my claim on those boys, when I let out an actual gasp at hearing the title. I swear I got a little wet. Taking Turns. I mean how does that title not cause a puddle? But like most books from this author, nothing is as it seems. How in the hell do you pull of a story that has is a quad-ship? I mean, I get the logistics of it all – three holes and well three.... ;)

When Quin heads to Rochelle’s room for his turn he is a little more than shocked to discover the woman he just had sex with was not Rochelle. The woman that has been playing this game with him and his friends for the last three years. How did she get in the room? Where did Rochelle go?

When Smith and Bric appear to help sort out this little mess, one thing is clear. Rochelle is gone and the rules are the rules. No one is going after her, even if Quin wants to. But Smith is intrigued enough about this new girl to entertain the idea of starting a new game and soon Bric is on board. Once they convince Chella to play along all they have to do is ensure that Quin is willing.

Nothing is as it seems. Taking Turns is all about the pleasure and the rules and the game. But just what that game is, I have no idea.

With each book from Huss you feel like you fall head first into the rabbit hole. And although you’ve learned from her prior books that the story will never be figured out until the very end, you can’t help but struggle to figure it out.

With four stars to this story, it was clear from the start which two were focused on. You were instantly drawn into these characters, how the existed individually, one on one and all together. There was no competition for your feelings. Each man gave you something the other was lacking, each one fulfilling a need.

Make no mistake, this book is dirty. But it isn’t just the dirty sex, the raw sexuality of this little game. Beyond the skin slapping and moans there were layers upon layers of emotions. You are never more vulnerable than you are when you are opening yourself up to a lover. You are letting someone see a part of you and each time these characters came together a new layer was exposed. Raw, vulnerable, emotions poured out of those scenes in such a subtle way. Huss gave you the obscene but ensured that it felt intimate. You were a voyeur into their deepest sexual fantasies and you kept your eyes glued to the scene, holding your breath, fearful that even a blink would cause you to miss a moment of it.

By the end of the story I understood what Chella gained from this game but still couldn’t grasp the reason why Bric, Quin and Smith played it.

I have so many theories spinning in my head as to what will happen next, what’s been happening all along and just who is really playing who. This game is complex and I think this was just the tip of the iceberg.

I don't think I'm saying anything new when I say J.A. Huss is amazing! But I never get tired of her or her books. She is a one-click author for me. When I saw the cover and read the title of this book, I immediately knew I had to get my hands on this as soon as possible. "Oh yeah, this girl is a dirty slut."

Smith, Bric and Quin...yum! I would like to be in a quad with these guys. These guys are rich. They are friends and co-owners of a sex club. They have their fun and games. And when they find one woman who wants to play their games too, they all take turns.

They each have certain days with the chosen woman. Rochelle has been with them for three years, but when Quin goes to see her on his day, he finds Chella in Rochelle's place. They have a rule that if any of them want to end their game and walk away they can. But there's no coming back afterward. So Rochelle has walked away and they have someone who is there and wants to take her place. But why?

"If you want to go dark, go dark."

Chella is a total mystery to Smith. He knows the games they will play with her, but he's not sure if she's playing games with them or why. He can see that she's enjoying this new arrangement with them.

"I am gone. I am done. I am right where I want to be.
I am in heaven."

I loved this book. I loved that each of the guys brought something unique to their situation and made me love them each for different reasons. Each chapter was from a different character's point of view making this an exciting read for me. I loved how this ended and even though it was not with a cliffhanger, J.A. Huss left us with a twist that has me craving more. I'm dying to know what will happen next.

I am in awe. In shock. And I may need to douse the vaj with more ice than I ever expected. THIS. This is probably my ultimate favorite work by this author thus far and the darkest, most explicit and erotic book I've ever read. Ever. It was utterly twisted, yet so fascinating and engrossing at the same time. It's swoony and breathtaking. I never wanted to put the book down and I could just picture every scene that was laid out. It's outstanding taboo at its darn freaking finest.

I loved it. LOVED. IT. Every single moment. Every turn the book took. Every secret revealed. It was all consuming. The story is just as compelling as the dark world JA Huss has vividly created in The Turning Point Series. It was everything I wanted in the ménage and more. The plot twists just made it more brilliant. It made my heart pound and melt, my palms sweat, my insides clench. It gave me goosebumps. And I'm telling you, even when you reach the end, you'll still find yourself squirming and begging for more.

The characters were just as intriguing and interesting. They all had their own unique streaks that you won't have a hard time getting to know them. Or who you'd choose for yourself. Because let's face it, with these three drop dead gorgeous and intimidating men, you won't be able to help but pick one out as your favorite. They took the heat and darkness to a whole other level all together. And I mean together. Their chemistry and connection between each other was so palpable and electric. I wouldn't even know how to handle all of that testosterone if I were Chella.

Marcella Walcott has this certain darkness deep within her. You'll always wonder what her story is or what she's hiding or what her motive was for joining the game of taking turns with these three strangers. And she was just given the chance to dig it back up and explore it even more with Bric, Smith and Quin.

Smith Baldwin is my love. He just stole my heart completely right off the bat. Out of the three best buds, he's the silent, brooding one who's always just watching in the shadows. But when he wants to take control, he takes it without any hesitation. He may have been intimidating and kind of a jerk in the beginning, but you'll get to know him so much more. I just absolutely loved his personality and his heart. He's an exquisite puzzle you'll want to piece together right away.

Quin Foster is the easiest to love and like. He has this big and buoyant personality that would just make you comfortable with him immediately. It's so easy to laugh with him and share things with him. It's one of the reasons why Chella felt at ease with him right away. He's the sweet to Bric's brusqueness. And he's probably the least complicated out of the three. You'll know why when you read this book.

Elias "Bric" Bricman is the real dominant. He can be sweet and kind when he wants to, but he's the one you should be really afraid of in the bedroom. Seriously. The man is commanding and ruthless with his toys. He takes anything and everything he wants, although he almost doesn't care about anything else in the world. He's one complicated man and I still want to uncover more of what's going on with him. In time, I guess.

Dark, erotic and downright unputdownable, Taking Turns will surely take you on a wild journey of a lifetime. It's not your typical ménage story; it's so much more than that. It'll take you to places you won't ever imagine visiting or even think about. It will bring out your deepest, darkest desires into light. If you're up for a very extraordinary and naughty read, this one's for you. You won't regret it. You'll still be fanning yourself or changing the undies long after you've reached the end.

So, are you ready to plunge into the darkness with this bunch and take a peek into their world? Or more like, experience the life in the Turning Point Club with them?

4.5 Blew My Mind Stars!

I’ve always believed there are some books you shouldn’t research. Some books you need to go in blind so you that you don’t know what to expect. I like guessing about a plot. I like freaking out over what a character may or may not do and what the end game might be. It makes my response to the book real. No preconceived notions. If I learn too much, I lose that. You can never get back that first response to a book. Once you’ve read it, you can re-read it, but your reaction changes. When the author first announced that she was working on this new series, just the little bit she mentioned I knew this was one of those books. I did learn that it was a ménage and I knew it was going to be dark and probably not that safe. From that point, I tried to avoid learning anything more. I had a few friends mention to me that they weren’t sure about this book, while that made me nervous, it also reinforced that I wanted to go in blind. This is easy for me to say because I’ve read every single book this author has published and she has earned my trust. I know that she is going to keep me guessing until the very end and I know that I will be happy at the ending. That’s all I needed. So, I’m not going to give you anything in this review. If you know this author, you already know if you want to read it or not. If you don’t know this author, you gotta ask yourself…are you ok with ménage? Are you ok with dark? Are you ok that this might not be safe? Are you intrigued? ***ARC provided by author

4 "what's the name of the game?" stars

Sweet Jesus...

I know JA HUSS's stories, every single one of them, fucks me up...sometimes I'm crazed up, riled up and sometimes wired up...and this book is no exception...

I m just not sure in which state i am right now...but i do now one thing, though

In this sexed up messy liassons or "the sex quad game" as presented in this story, out of the three dominant, sexy, alphas...

Bric, Quin and Smith

I 'm definitely lingering towards Smith, the silent sex touch, who ended up not being so silent after all *winks*....

the other two were somewhere in between weirdly clingy and latently violently unstable (i ll let you figure out which one of the two left could easily be molded into these descriptions)

What else is there to say?

There's sex and there's S.E.X. the JA HUSS's way with a layered psychological background story...and voila, you get Taking turns!

All that is lacking, for me, to have made it to my 5 star book shelf is palpable emotional connection...
I' m displeased as I've felt none, it was purely sensual, physical, sexy, dirty, kinky and hot as hell...

but the drive to be more invested in the characters and the story, other than having flushes all over, came up flat, cause that segment was unfortunately underdeveloped and alienated.

But there's a hint and a glimpse of what's to be expected next...so, i'm more than intrigued to see where the next installment will lead me to...

"We're all here for the game. It's a peek, Marcella. A little glimpse into the forbidden. Just some filthy, taboo sex, and nothing more."

LOVED this book so much! It reminded me a lot of 321 (only less twisted), which is my favorite book by JA Huss. I was hooked from the beginning till the end. All the characters were unique and very intriguing. They all had different personalities and made the story so much more enjoyable. JA Huss has the most original story-lines and has a way with words. She sucks you in and has you addicted to the characters and the story. That was the case for this book as well.

"We feed the craving, turn it into an addiction, and then we own you."

I loved all three guys because they all had great personalities. I also loved Marchella because she was very feisty. She didn't let them walk all over her. She wasn't afraid to show her feelings. I love women that don't play games and go after what they want. The author also added some mystery to the story. I thought she did a great job incorporating that into this book. She had me wanting to know more. I had one thing figured out pretty early on, but that didn't take away from how much I enjoyed Taking Turns. I very much enjoyed the individual relationship Chella had with the guys. It was very pleasant and they all went through a lot of character development.

"We're all dirty here. Be dirty with us, Chella."

This story was very erotic and sensual. You'll probably have to change your panties, because it was that HOT! The story was very easy to follow and had a great pace. I was addicted to this story and didn't want it to end. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book in the series because I am in love with the world JA Huss has created.

I stayed up all night to finish this. IT is really something else. I liked it. A lot. Just didn't love it.

From the beginning I wanted things to turn up the way they did in the end. I was happy about it. Can't say much without spoiling the story, but everyone who wants to read a smexy and hawt book, this is it!

I'm not sure I'll read any other book in this series, I didn't like that much the other side female character and I'm just not interested in the others' story... but we'll see..

Book Review
Release Date-18/1/17

This was so much more than what I was originally expecting; what I was anticipating here was a really hot menage type or quad as this actually has four participants and while this was certainly steaming hot in nature and intent this was also so much more than that.
Totally surprised me this did and in a totally good way as well.
This story revolves around a game; A very adult dark game called taking turns.
And what we have here is a decadent descent into all that is sensual and sexy as our girl Chella spirals further down the rabbit hole as she explores in depth her inert hidden nature.
Smith, Quin and Bric all aboard this ride also and all with there own particular reasons for playing.
One, Two and three each with there own set of bizarre rules agreed on by all; the end game, well it's all four finally playing together as one whole.
As our tale evolves it quickly becomes apparent that one player is much more invested in the prize and is determined to win by giving Chella exactly what she needs to enable her to move forward with himself as her ultimate home.

"I will give you that, Chella. I will fill in the deep, dark hole you’re so desperate to cover up with whatever it is you’re doing here with us, and I will make your longing go away. That’s my present."

So I adored all the men here But my hands down favourite was Smith; He has such a quirky atypical guy and I adored the fact he was just so intense and didn't play with a full deck.
He was my main man here all the way.
The others were OK and all but Smith just had that slight edge for me.
So this was an excellent read that was seriously and surprisingly very emotive.
If I had one criticism here for me it would have been Chella herself I did find her at times to be slightly unreasonable in her attitudes to others.
Well mainly Smith if I'm being honest I think she treated him rather unfairly originally and it got my back up hence the half a star deduction.
As a whole, this is one that I'm happy to recommend just be aware before embarking here this is a romance with multiple partners and is fairly explicit in nature if you're like me then that last sentence will only entice you to want to read this more.
Taking Turns (Turning, #1) is the first instalment in a new series but this can be read as a standalone as far as I am aware the next part continues on with Rochelle's story.
So I managed to grab this when it was free so I lucked out there folks.
All opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own thoughts.
