This book is about an emerald table and the battle of Good (a master and his apprentice) and Evil (A witch and her apprentice) to get the table. Caught in the middle is an Archbishop who has no idea about what's going on. Set in the 16th century but the language doesn't really reflect this. Some parts of the story were riveting, others bland. An ok book. Definitely for a somewhat younger audience i guess.
