Outlier: Reign Of Madness

Rate this book
*THIS IS BOOK #3 IN THE OUTLIER SERIES*

"I am the Madness."

It has been two months since the Madness took over.

In the third installment of the OUTLIER series, our band of unlikely heroes — both slum-born and sky — survive in a very changed, volatile world. The slums ignite with chaos. Ancient powers awaken. Doomsday is on everyone’s heels as the Mad King entertains himself, casting his red “Finger Of Madness” down upon the slums below, destroying any in its fiery path.

But the slum-born are not silent. Alliances are forged even as the fires rain down upon them, and dire actions are taken to preserve their future — no matter the cost. Our brave heroes will fight to survive the Madness one sleepless day at a time.

Be the ghost ... Stop the thing ... Let it rain ... Make it fly, Shye.

*It is recommended to read this series in order*
*Some portions of the book end in cliffhangers*

Absolutely incredible and totally awesome! Oh my God… Reign Of Madness was so worth the wait!

For those of you who haven’t heard about it, the Outlier series by Daryl Banner is an epic dystopian saga with a strong ensemble of unique and unlikely heroes who incite a rebellion. All of them are gifted with legacies, very, very special skills and abilities…

This is a journey for truth, love, and justice.

“Those in power will do whatever they can to get away with everything they can.” (Book #1)

"You don't need ALL the power in the world. You only need ENOUGH." (Book #2)

Outlier : Reign Of Madness is the third installment in this fantastic series. It is a long and trying adventure that will test your heart and your loyalty and your faith.

“I know the world’s Mad. And maybe it should be. It’s only in that Madness that we can truly understand who we are.”

“The Madness can be your friend if you learn to dance with it.”

I have been patiently waiting for Reign Of Madness, and I loved it, loved it, loved it.

Like Rebellion (#1) and Legacy (#2), Reign Of Madness was emotional, with lots of interesting discoveries, surprising twists and what-the-fuck turns! And once again, the epilogue left me begging for more.

Seriously, don’t be afraid to read this series. Take a leap and get out of your comfort zone. Daryl Banner will amaze you with his stunning creativity and endless imagination.

5+++ stars!

OMG what a massive read (over 250K!!) but well worth the time spent and let me tell you, all you Outlier world fans who have been patiently waiting for this third book in the series will not be disappointed at all!
SO many things happen in this exciting continuation and did I mention the SEX? Lots of it...some unexpected and shocking...all of it so emotionally charged and in all shapes and forms (I'm talking MF, MM, FMF, FF...it's all in there).
Be forewarned, I wanted to throw my kindle against a wall a time or two...but please, just keep reading because you must know by now that Daryl Banner is an evil little genius and everything serves a purpose =) That's all I'm going to tease you with.
Both Outlier Rebellion and Legacy will be 99 cents this week so you can be sure to get them both before the Madness comes!

Wow this book is full of life changing events for these characters.
I was shocked by some things and bewildered by others. I also may or may not cussed Daryl out while reading this :) Once you think you know the path that this book will take there is a curve ball that you didn't see coming.
You must read the first 2 books to know where this book picks up. I'm left with to many unanswered questions I can't wait to read book 4 I need to know more about this world!!

So, I've just finished reading it. It was good, although at the beginning it was a bit slower. The second parts was OMGs after OMGs. And there was some characters I didn't care too much to know what happened to them. Even thought their part of the story was important too. Like Mercy. Sorry, I can't care less about her. I didn't every remember her from the second book just like Dran girlfriend.

I did love Athan chapters. He's a very relatable character and I feel he has grown so much since book one. And, I did love Athan-Wick relationship it's just for me Wick isn't as relatable as Athan or Link. I like Wick a lot in the previous books. He that kind hero you know you can relate, he's just like you or me. But in this books he was sometimes so awfully childish I wanted to enter the book and punch him in the face. I hate some parts of Wick characters, but i also love it. Because that makes him more real.

Link, he is the best character in my opinion in all three books. His story is so... wow, I don't really know how to describe it. He's grown so much since the first book. And though, I could tell what will happen in the end with him and his interaction with Kid it was a pleasant part of the book. Kudos to Daryl to make such a good character outta him. I hope Wick can learn a thing or two of Link.

Ellena's and Forge's chapters were I don't know. I feel their journey are important of the story, but at the same time it was tiresome at times. Especially Forge chapter until the very end. I also like Impys parts every time he show up. His madness was nicely written. And his group well, I love/hate them. Arcana, I hope gets a chapter on her own in the next two books. I'd really like to know more about her.

Cintha's chapters and Rone's. I feel sorry for them. And that's all I'm gonna say about them. They both deserve better. Rone and his final helper ( I don't want to spoil that) was a good part. I know he's not into that, but I felt like his helper after what happened between them before Rone leaves. I really hope Rone get the happiness he deserves.

Back to Athan and Wick. I need to know what's Athan legacy. And I need a map of The Last City of Atlas. I wish Daryl Banner the author could make one for the next or final book. It'snot that I get lost reading it. But it could be nice to have one.

I hope Link, Kid and Fae can be reunited as a family again. Please Please Please.

This story is told from the second person narrative from many characters with many story lines. Each chapter is told from a different person’s perspective, and since there are so many characters, it may be many chapters before any one character’s narrative reappears. And since the various story threads are so diverse and only occasionally intertwining, it is easy to lose track of what any one character is doing. This is a very long book with many story lines. I sometimes found it difficult to remember who was who and what was what.

All that being said, it is a terrific story, extremely imaginative and well written with twists and turns that keep you in suspense. I knew what I was getting into when I started this book; that this was book three of a five book series, the final two which have not been written, or, at lease, have not been released. However, it was a good choice to read it anyway. It stands alone very well with no cliff hanger at the end. You should read books one and two first of course, but I recommend you read all three now. It is so good you won’t want to wait for the release of books four and five. Definitely a five-star read and I recommend it highly.

Further and further down the hole

So much to unpack in this one! The vibrant world of legacies, lifted and slammers gets evermore complicated and rich in this installment! I can’t with to see where the story goes from here!

This installment was difficult for me to finish. It was bogged down in the middle by multiple points of view from a lot of characters I have no interest in. The action did pick up towards the end. There was also an increase in the sex scenes in this book, which I felt did little to move the story forward. I'll be checking out the next one because I'm curious to see where it's going.

Awesome series!

Another great installment in the Outlier series. The character development not to mention the story development was at times mind boggling yet outstanding. Can't wait for the next one!

Outlier Reign of Madness is a perfect continuation of this series well written by Daryl Banner. This book is on the long side but the pace is good and the story gets mixed up by continuing to show the story line from the different character's point of views. This series has a rather intricate plot, so I would highly recommend reading all the other books in the series first since they all build upon each other and I think you may get lost without having read the others before. There were a lot of reveals and surprises, but here are still a lot of secrets to which the answers we are still waiting for. The plot for this book is so well thought through it amazes me and when the reveals come I was like "why didn't I see that coming". It seems obvious after the reveal but when you read it you just don't see it. This just shows how well written this book is and the author uses the technique on telling the story from the different point of views to his advantage.

Somehow during all this action going on, the author still manages to do some serious character development of the main characters since the continuously evolve throughout. I have been hooked on this series since I read the very first book and can't wait until the next one comes out! It can't be soon enough, that is for sure!

I don't know how to rate this so I won't. It took so long to be released I forgot almost everything that happened in the first 2 instalments. I had a hard time catching up while reading. Was it always this many POV's? Wow. How am I just starting to get annoyed by that? Honestly the only parts I enjoyed were the scenes with Anwick & Athan and also the epilogue. Which is very disappointing because I was looking so forward to this instalment!!!

One of the best series I have read in awhile. This series started with a slum rebellion, then delved deeper into legacies and now the madness has erupted everywhere!

This story continues in the third party POV , following our favorites characters throughout the journey during the mad reign of Impis.

New relationships develop, old ones shatter. We learn more about the main characters' pasts and personalities. We watch as some bwloved (or hated) characters thrive, while others lose the great battle.

All the while many new leaders are introduced who stir trouble in the slums and plan to overthrow the mad king.

This book had me reading in every spare moment and late into the night. It kept my emotions running wild with every victory and defeat the characters went through. Very well written with very relatable characters. Can't wait for the next installment!
