I bought this for my daughter to read but she asked me to read it aloud to her. I was hoping this was not a twaddlish beginner chapter books. I was presently surprised and really did enjoy reading them aloud.
My DD really enjoyed the story! (Anything Unicorn is her favorite right now)! There are great descriptive words and each chapter ends at a climax point which makes you want to read the next chapter to find out what is going to happen. This was a great beginner chapter book and I look forward to reading the rest of the series with my dd. I do see my dd picking this up and reading it again to herself!
"I really like all the magic and I think the unicorns are awful cute and awful precious. It was really exciting helping the good guys beat the bad guy. I like that Zoe and Astra are good friends and wanted to help each other and the other unicorns. I can't wait to read the next book that's blue 💙 "

Cute little kid book about magical unicorns and a girl coming to another world. Basic young kid fantasy. I've read far FAR better of the sort, but it's not the worst either.
This is the first one, and kiddo LOVED IT! She ate it all up. This is the first one and we get to meet all the characters in this one, especially Zoe and her unicorn friend.
The biggest issue I have with this is you don't find out ANYTHING about Zoe's life in the real world. You just get the adventures in the land of the unicorns, nothing else. You even find out more about Zoe's unicorn friend than about Zoe! Other than that it was fairly well written.
Zoe discovers a magical world of fairy unicorns. She discovers that their forest is dying and the Unicorn King has been taken captive. She partners with her new unicorn friend, Astra, to save the day! This is a cute fantasy series for young readers. My 7 y/o could read it on her own but she enjoyed it as a read aloud - and even her older brothers were cheering for Zoe and Astra by the end of it!
Helt okej story som den enhörningsälskande 5-åringen kunde hänga med i och blev engagerad av. Lite långa kapitel att högläsa och ibland lite väl trög handling, men ändå en rätt trevlig bok om en magisk plats.
Another book from my Bookaburras program, where I read a recommendation from every Year 7 in my class. A cute chapter book, well suited for primary ages, lots of lovely adjectives to boost their vocab.
Some great descriptive writing as well as an easy to follow and read plot. Recommended for developing readers. It will give them a sense of beauty both in the words and the characters.
In here we see Zoe going after her sister Holly to the garden because she follows Holly and then she is able to go into the magical worlds however she espérâtes from her cousin Holly aligns the way and goes into the fairy unicorn land where she meets Astra and Astra tells her about how the leaves are dying and that they need to save them. Sorrel astras mum allows them to go and see the unicorn king where they find out that shadow the fairy pony had stolen the grimoire book and has chanted a speed across the island for the trees to die.It also says that when the last tree dies then he will be able to get the throne. He also wrote that the king is missing. They find the king in this sharp net and he tells them to find a flower and this journey is dangerous so he tells them to go and tell sorell to find it and then Holly and Astra go instead. Then they go get the flower give it to the king he makes a potion and says them to sprinkle it on the trees and they are able to restore the trees.🌳

Fairy unicorns is a very special book to me because I had it for years now however I lost one of the episodes in the toilet of a hotel but anyways I am looking forward to read all of the chapters. I love this book because I especially adore unicorns so fairies and every other fantasy characters. I recommend others that like unicorns and magical adventure type of stories to come and read this book. It even has a black and white drawings to express the story through art , a drawing of the unicorn island map at the second page to introduce the new readers to know about unicorn island and lastly on the first page you will find drawing of several unicorns with their name labeled underneath them.
My daughter and I love reading Zanna Davidson's Fairy Unicorns series! The stories are action-packed with a great formula for young girls: unicorns and magic, a secret world that a little girl can enter, an evil pony to overcome. There are positive, useful themes, revolving around making friends and being brave and being true to yourself to overcome negative forces. The illustrations are beautiful and the book format is gorgeous: hardcover with a ribbon bookmark. I taught my daughter how to open the book using the ribbon bookmark and she was delighted to learn this trick. Great quality reading for six-year-olds. We are reading the Fairy Ponies series next!
Holly loves it but I think of course a lot has to do with it simply being unicorns. The characters are brave and go on an adventure to save the Unicorn island.
Unfortunately there are some words repeated just too often and it makes it annoying for me to read out loud. I am also lacking some connection to the world that Zoe comes from. It is rather flat in that regard. I do not, however, need to love it. Holly enjoys it a lot and we will be reading the entire series. Anything that gets her loving books can't be that bad!?
This was a cute story for a little girl about fairy unicorns and a magical world. Some of the plot line was left open, so you’ll have to read the next book to get more answers. Although this book is geared toward early chapter book readers, the language used was surprisingly sophisticated. It was definitely a bit more challenging to read (my daughter just finished first grade). Overall, the story line was unique and it was well written.
My 8yr old daughter and I read this one out loud together. She enjoyed it very much. "I really, really loved it." Her favorite part was how the character shrunk down. She dislikes the bad guy. I would say that the type size was good for a 2nd grade reader, that the words were just challenging enough to help expand her vocabulary. I am glad we read it out loud together so I could help her pronounce words like "grimoire" and "lyra."

Reading this series at the request of my 8 year old charge. Brilliant for young children who are starting to get to the stage of reading more complicated sentences and have more structure to the stories they read. A cute read and definitely one I recommend if you have a young child who enjoys magic, fairys and animals.
A lovely bedtime story chapter book for my 2 daughters, aged 7 & 5, the story of Zoe who discovers a magical unicorn island at the bottom of her Aunt's garden is entertaining and engaging - my daughters both wanted to keep reading to find out what happened in the next chapter - we will certainly be adding to our collection of these stories.
i did not love this, but it was time for me to find a chapter book to truly indulge the whims of my 5-year-old instead of imposing my own preferences. when i asked if this was 5 star, she said it was 10. i liked the gist, and vocabulary, wish it had more meat on the bones. loved that there was a unicorn named astra.
It is brilliant and I have to say it was the best thing that I have ever read 🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄💩💩💩💩😻😻🐶🦍🐴🐿️🐿️🐎🐎🐎🦍🦍🐶🐶🐿️🐿️🐿️🐿️🐿️🐿️🐿️🐿️🐿️🐿️🐿️🐿️🐿️🐿️🐿️🐿️🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊🦄🦄🦊🦊🦊🦄🦊🦄💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖🍑🍑🍑🍑🍑🍑🍑🍑🍑🍓🍒🍓🍒🍓🍍🍌🍉
