This delightful board book is full of much-loved animals from the bestselling That's not my... series. Who is taller - Panda or Hippo? Is Meerkat shorter than Duck? And who is the tallest animal of all? With holes to peep through and a fold-out final page to reveal the tallest animal, this is an entertaining introduction to the concept of height.

Jack borrowed this book from the Oxford Public Library. I picked it because he likes this book series and has become obsessed with elephants.
The first few times we tried to read it, he was not into it. But for some reason, today was the day. I picked it up before nap time, and he was all about making the elephant noises and saying, "Elephant." He liked the other animals, and was excited to see the tall giraffe at the end. He kept exclaiming, "Tall!" and then even climbed up to stand on his chair and announce how tall he is to me.
The best book in the That's Not My... series by far. Using the same animal illustrations you find in the traditional That's Not My... books, Taller and Shorter educates little ones on the difference in size between all of the creatures, getting bigger and bigger until you reach the tallest animal of all - the giraffe! When we'd finished reading this book my daughter didn't want to let go of it: a strong favourite.
Great concept using the characters from other "that's not my..." books, but lacking the fun textures that really make the other books in the series stand out and basically just a list of animals.
Cute illustrations consistent with the That's Not My... series. I love introducing the concepts of taller and shorter, but the book itself is very short. I wish there were several more comparisons.
Throughout the book, the heights of different animals are compared. On the last page, there is a flap to reveal a giraffe: the flap gives the page extra height to show how the giraffe is the tallest of them all. My daughter thought this was a great idea.
