I might be a little biased Ghost Ride has always been been my favourite visual character. It is very hard for anyone drawing him not to make him look cool, and Johnny Blaze is my favourite host of his.

The story is ok, but this is all about the visuals and action for me. I think Daniel did a great job picking up the ball when the last Ghost Rider series was cancelled just as it was getting interesting. He has managed to incorporate the storyline/direction of the series and the one shot. The only art work I did not like was in issue 6 and 7. Just not to my taste.

I do prefer superheroes to save people, but with the moniker Spirit of Vengeance I can understand the choices made. I also like the conflict between Blaze and Ghost Rider. This us a bit of a crossover in in World War Hulk. I like the last line describing the Illuminati.

A great series with big Revelations about both Blaze and Ghost Rider himself. Also his true enemy is revealed.

Ghost Rider doing what he does best. Daniel Way's run is basically a continuation of Garth Ennis two previous limited series, super action-packed, fun, yet predictable, and also super quick to read, story got a bit repetitive towards the end. Artwise there's definitely some cool visuals here, even if some of the pencils feels rushed and sketchy at times, has that nineties grungy feel to it, even though this was created much later on.

This was such a great idea for a story. The devil tricks the ghost rider aka Johnny Blaze to thinking he's trapped in Hell, but Johnny escapes! However, the Devil escapes with him and upon entering the realm of the living he is broken into 666 pieces that fall across planet Earth.

Each of these 666 pieces inhabits a dead body as a vessel and starts wreaking havoc by killing as many people's they can and often luring Johnny into a trap! What Johnny realises quickly is that every time he kills on of the versions of satan, all the other versions of Satan get stronger and Johnny constantly keeps getting tricked. This is because (and Satan keeps telling him this) he is stoooopid! He keeps telling the Ghost Rider what to do, because he controls it, kinda like Bruce Banner and the hulk....but the Ghost Rider makes more practical suggestions....

Johnny is not the brightest spark in the world, he sold his soul to the devil for starters, so in order to get one up on the Devil he lets the spirit of the Ghost Rider (Spirit of Vengeance) take over, and HE KICKS ASS!

As you can see there's even a tie-in into 'World War Hulk'. At one point I think issues 6-8 were given to a different artist and oh my days, it was up there with the worst artwork I've ever seen, luckily it was just a couple of issues!

Overall the premise for this story was excellent, but delivered poorly. Hopefully Aaron's run will be better.

This was the first comic book I've picked up in a long time and wow, what a way to start.
Ghost Rider was my first choice to come back to because of the visuals alone. Flipping through the book I noticed tons of cool art with lots of action scenes. After reading, I wasn't disappointed. Fighting the devil is the ultimate badass type thing I could get into.

If you know Ghost Rider, you know the story well about Johnny Blaze selling his soul and so on. If you're a fan of Ghost Rider, then I'd suggest picking this one up. If you're not, I'd stay away as it's typical Ghost Rider.

I would was not sure if I wanted to give this a 4 stars or a 3 stars so I'm going to go in the middle with a 3.5. This was my first ghost rider comic and wasn't sure what to expect and I really enjoyed the story and the art work. The only downside was that at some stages it was a bit confusing with time jumps from past and present that didn't even tell you it was happening.

This is basically a nineteen issue-long episode of Tom and Jerry with Lucifer as the fun-loving mouse capable of immense destruction and Ghost Rider playing the role of the more serious-minded cat on the hunt.

If you like Ghost Rider, chances are you'll really dig this. If you're not a fan of the character, and sometimes it seems like most people aren't, stay away. Seriously, avoid this collection. Like I said, it's nineteen issues and if you don't find the absurdities inherent in the Ghost Rider character charming then you are in a for a painful slog.

Does it always make sense? Well, no. Is it, in places, kinda dumb? Yep. Is it a hell of a lot of fun to read? Also yep. But you have to be in the mood for this kind of thing; it's most assuredly not for everyone.

This 19 issue series is your typical Ghost Rider. Making deals, blowing stuff up, lots of fire and vengeance and chains. Some issues were better than others, and the art was alright throughout.
Overall, every once in a while, I like to read a comic that feels closer to a summer action film: not much story, but plenty of chaos and explosions. :)

Recommend for GR fans.

This was such a weird run and Idk what to say about it, except it was fun in parts and other times not so much, the constant art changes didn't help and I saw other reviews for this run and yeah I do agree that its sort of like a 90s movie sometimes with blockbuster action and its kinda very decompressed and you will finish this run very quick reading wise, but its 19 issues long and could have been like compressed to 5-6 issues lol. The art.. some of it was just bad and hard to read even but the other ones are good with splash pages of GR fighting that I liked.

The concept is kinda cool with Lucifer escaping Hell when Johnny did from an arc before I am guessing but he is back in the real world and you see his essence has been divided into 666 pieces and well Johnny has to fight them all but the thing is the more that gets eliminated all that power gets consolidated and well Johnny has to fight it and there's one vs Jack-O-Lantern and that was fun, that was the whole town of Sleepy hollows and I actually like the story with the cop Harry and how the town ties into it and the rise of the dead and set in Halloween and also Johnny trapped in his head, that one was awesome.

Then there is a tie into the World war hulk event with Johnny GR vs Hulk but its not a big fight when it should have been but the GR suddenly leaves because he thinks the Illuminati is guilty and one way sure it makes sense but missed opportunity but then again we got a cool GR vs Hulk fight and it showed the Jade giant being so strong.

And then the follow up to the Lucifer plot and there's a part with tie into the angels Vraniel and Enmael who come down to earth as babies because Zadkiel send them and we see the deal that Roxanne made to save Johnny from very early GR issues... so yeah there's that and it doesn't go anywhere except the revelations that GR maybe from heaven which was confusing because I thought he was from hell? Maybe they retconned it.

But yeah you see a cool fight between Lucifer and Johnny but what should have been a big epic fight kinda didn't really go anywhere because his gf Dixie had another host of Lucifer trapped so his power got halved and Johnny defeats the guy.. deus-ex-machina felt like after all this build up and lets talk about Dixie whose introduced in such a cool manner and her arc literally goes nowhere and they end her because new run, new writer which felt like such a wasted opportunity.

So yeah, a run which had some cool moments and a good idea of GR vs Lucifer but which tries to retcon his origin and make it confusing, introduces cool villains and only to do away with them, art which is good in first few issues then gets worse and ending which could have been epic but done away in seconds, so yeah maybe I will recommend it as a one-time read if you are a big GR fan and want to get caught with everything GR or maybe you're just looking for a fun time and want cool action scenes and GR being badass, maybe think of it like a Michael bay film albeit not that much great visuals sometimes.

This run was solid overall, I enjoyed it a lot more than Ennis' miniseries. In this one, the Ghost Rider finally escapes from hell however he brought Lucifer with him, and he's been split into 666 different aspects which are causing havoc. However, when johnny kills one, it makes the remaining ones stronger.

The artwork is stunning in most of the issues done by Teixeira, it has this moody and dark vibe which is very fitting of the story. A couple other artists join too but they don't quite have the detail and gloomy feel of Tex's art. I discovered this artist with Moon Knight: High Strangers and I love his pencils, and Ghost Rider is no exception. This is just such a badass looking character where good artwork really can elevate the story.

As for the writing, it's a fun read. As expected because of the premise, Johnny is hunting down all of Lucifer's 666 aspects and how he deals with them can be interesting. A bit of comedy sprinkled in makes for a fun read too. There's some good back and forth between the Spirit of Vengeance and Johnny caused by some moral dilemmas, and we get some epic fight scenes thrown in.

We get some really nice backstory to explain why Johnny acts the way he does and really helps to flesh out his character and world.

My favourite story in here was definitely the Legend of Sleepy Hollow, which is a smaller scale story where a detective is investigating some murders in the town of Sleepy Hollow. Johnny gets caught up in this due to the main suspect having a flaming head, but it turns out it's actually the recently deceased Jack-o-Lantern reincarnated as one of Lucifer's aspects. Cool fight scenes, art and character moments in this one.

A World War Hulk crossover is also in the middle which broke up the story a bit but overall didn't feel like it intruded too much. Hulk vs Ghost Rider is something I'd always be willing to read.

Overall score: 3.5/5

I love the Ghost Rider character...but I have read very very little of it. This was NOT a good book for someone like me. I feel like it was a mix between directly continuing another writer's run in a way that didn't explain the happenings well and instead made that run required reading to fully know this run. This was (mostly) a quick easy read, but that was due in part to it not really having much substance. There were times that I would get through 4-5 pages and not understand a single action that had occurred.

To me the best 2 issues in the run were the World War Hulk tie ins and if the character of Ghost Rider shown in those issues had been consistent throughout the run I would have loved this run.

Ultimately, I think the idea of this run was good. If it was a TV series written by someone who knows how to write for TV it would have been incredible. But as a comic, like most Daniel Way stuff I have read, it wasn't for me and the art, while good for singular image pin ups didn't feel like it flowed with any sort of story telling.

This is both my first Ghost Rider and my first Daniel Way book to go with my collections. All I can say is that I was really entertained by this. The plot is simple yet creative and interesting; the execution of storytelling was done in parts like an episode on a hit TV series. There was the present and then a flashback to tell how it all went there. There were lots of action packed panels as well as funny dialogue exchanges between the characters which explains how the writer was also able to do a good long Deadpool run. I loved how Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider was written here, his human weaknesses were so fleshed out giving his character the depth and the due spotlight to exhibit his heroism (or anti-heroism, whatever). He may be stupid and fail again and again but his sheer will and persistence in overcoming his enemy is what drove him to finally succeed. Very Nice!

I hope Marvel will also release Jason Aaron's whole Ghost Rider run in Complete Collection paperback format.

Still think Aaron gets into it more, but a fun series by Way...like the Zadkiel, Vraniel and Emmael plot.....but the most fun is the premise... 666 demons escape he'll, and each time one is killed the other become stronger until Lucifer is left ..huge potential...didn't quite pull it off...but that may have been editorial...

I never avoided Ghost Rider comics or the movies. I never had the chance to read or view any of them.

And then I got my hands on this baby....

And it was worth the wait...

Ghost Rider is now my favorite hero... Or should I say anti-hero?

A must read... If you are a fan of comics...

This was my introduction to the ghost rider and it did not disappoint. The art work is so well done and tbh the only way to describe it is badass. The story was fun and I'm definitely going to pick up war in heaven.

I've never read a Ghost Rider comic or graphic novel before. Loved the movies, though. This was the beginning for me, and it was quite an adventure. Ghost Rider takes on the Devil in this graphic novel, destroying cities and lives in the process. The art was good and the storyline was okay, but it was definitely a fun read.

The plot for the series is fascinating. Ghost rider comes back to earth, entering whole, but dragging the devil. Art is done by Texeira, Corben, Suydam amongst other greats. The story flows seamlessly over four main subplots. A brilliant run, and perfect jumping point for anyone looking to enjoy Ghost Rider at his best!
