I try to avoid cliches like "page-turner," and "I couldn't put it down," but I can't think of a better way to describe it. I don't rate books 5 stars unless they changed my perspective, made me question everything, or if I devoured it. "Road to Redemption" was devoured!

Road to Redemption is book one in the Saints & Sinners series and tells the tale of Michel, who made a deal with the devil, and Paige, who's determined to free him.

This story starts with a strong hook and reels you in until you're completely immersed in Michel and Paige's world. I found myself loving the fact that both characters had flaws, which endeared them to me. I was fully invested in their dark journey's as they fought the evil forces of hell to try and save each other.

A thoroughly intriguing read that reveals the price to pay as two imperfect souls travel the Road to Redemption.

Road to Redemption is an easy read that delivers on its promises.

As the charecters set-out on their adventures the book sets its sights upon human nature and our ability to learn from our mistakes without reliving and wallowing in them. It gives us a peek at the war being waged in the name of Good and Evil and how that war effects the individuals on the field of battle. Particularly, two people who find themselves caught in the middle as they try to salvage their lives, their love, and their humanity.

There are pros and cons to this book, as with any. The beginning felt a little forced, like something to get us to the heart of the story, but after a few chapters, things take on a more natural pace. There are some spelling and grammar errors but I’ve never been one to fuss over such things so it didn’t bother me. And, in a book about Heaven and Hell it’s no surprise that it felt a little preachy at times but beyond that it’s a very well rounded, brilliantly thought-out story.

For me, the best part was the setting, I love a setting that you can lose yourself in and this one definitely fits the bill! The Author made some wonderfully creative choices in her depiction of Hell and I found it fun and entertaining. At the very heart of the story, I didn’t want to put it down, I wanted to see what would happen to our brave heroes as they battled their way through seas of demons, both inner and actual.
Ultimately, it was entertaining and I think it could be something to sit with a reader for a while.

My only question is…What happens next?

I got hooked immediately. I finished more than half of it in one sitting. It was so easy to lose yourself in.
I love how well thought out the story was. So creative and imaginative!
One thing that I have to say that I've not found in many books is that I loved every single character. I loved the bag guys, the good guys, the side characters. The character development was so great. Each character felt unique and real.
Michel's struggles were so human. The inner turmoil he was fighting with, himself really, I could definitely see so much of myself in him.
Paige was so real and I felt like I could almost reach out and touch her.
I wasn't expecting to love Lenore when I first came across her, but she won me over so quickly and I wanted to know everything about her. And Crystal delivered on that so perfectly. We did find out more about her, but just enough to keep us always wanting more.
I got sucked into this book very quickly and I am so so glad I picked it up.
A fun read, for sure. My favorite thing about the novel is that every time the characters doubted themselves, it would have been the same doubts and thoughts I would have had in the same situation. It was so easy to relate to these characters and to put yourself in their shoes. It felt like you were fighting their battles with them because they were relate-able.

I have to confess that it was the side characters that made this for me. I wanted to know more about Ruby and Iain, and Father Brannigan. Paige was lovely and pure on her own, but I felt I could have got to know more of her story. Paige is seeking to help the mysterious Michel, who's dark and twisted past is a threat to them both. The trouble is that Michel has underestimated Paige's own connection to the dark lord, and it might cost him everything. When he seeks her out, he runs into Ruby, who ultimately is a resourceful, capable woman, and could probably take on Buffy. A good read for fans of soul searching and the lengths we go to in order to redeem ourselves.

The opening scene did everything right, page two I was curious by page four, hooked.

Road to Redemption has everything you could want a book to have . Interesting characters and a plot that is worthy of the big screen. The narrative description is spot on, details so clear that I could see the story playing in my head like a movie.

I loved this book!

My one and only disappointment was that it had to end. Hopefully a sequel will follow.

The author does a good job making the reader care for the characters of Michel and Paige. The beginning of the book didn't feel like a fantasy at all, but soon the characters were enveloped in a religiously-themed world of adventure, deals with the devil, and past sin. While the multiple spelling and grammatical errors can be distracting, readers who love urban fantasy can overlook them to enjoy the dynamic between the two lead characters.

WORDS FROM THE AUTHOR

Thanks for your interest in ROAD TO REDEMPTION. This was the first book I ever published and a part of my SINNERS & SAINTS series.

This is a book that I have always been fond of and the first time I ever wrote anything with a hint of romance. Though it is a driving subplot, it is not a romance. While much of the supernatural of this story is based upon tenets of Christianity, I stay far away from anything that resembles preachiness because that is not something I enjoy reading or writing.

These characters are dear to me and the series revolves more around the city and a few key players than anything else.

I will admit that, this being my first book published, it could have used a better edit, but from all reader accounts this doesn't detract from the incredibly fast-paced story that is being told. You will fall in love with these characters, or that is my hope.

This series gets darker with each novel and can be read in any direction since each book is written to be read as a standalone novel.

Thank you for your time and if you liked this book, please check out the second book in the series, DEPTHS OF DARKNESS.
