Rate this book

This is a 1985 collection of five papers on aspects of the Chuvash language. Compared to other collections from this era, it feels to me rather slight at almost exactly 100 pages, but some researchers may benefit for the research presented here.

I. P. Pavlov writes on the grammatical category of division in Chuvash (i.e. forms in -(x)i and -sker). L. P. Sergeev investigates constructions consisting of an impersonal verb form and the auxuliary verb pul. P. Ja. Jakovlev compares the Chuvash accent to related Turkic languages and to languages with which Chuvash has been in contact. V. P. Semenov looks some syntactic features in Chuvash newspapers. Finally, M. F. Chernov presents some modern Chuvash phraseology.
