This is a quick read that will resonate with anyone who waited on a marriage proposal that seemed to never happen or maybe didn't ever happen.
Suzann and Adam have been dating for a year and love each other. No questions about it. Suzann wants a proposal but it doesn't come. On the first anniversary of dating, she was sure it would happen. Maybe Valentine's Day. As her frustration grew and her patience got shorter, Adam seems somewhat clueless. I felt for them both because they love each other but Adam apparently isn't sure. Who wants to marry someone who is not ready for marriage for whatever reason? But does Suzann want to invest anymore time with someone who isn't sure? They go to church together but are they relying on God for guidance in the matter? This is the beginning of Sweet City Hearts series. I am looking forward to reading Suzann's friend, Lindy's story next.

OMG!!! These short stories are going to finish me! This was so hilarious, if I thought I was crazy and over thinks a lot then clearly I have not met Suzann! My only regret is that she is not real! Why do I fall in love with characters? :'( Oh yeah because they are just so perfect and silly like ME!!!!
Suzann and Adam are perfect for each other, they have been dating for a year now and Suzann knows he is the one. So what is the problem? The problem begins when Suzann starts to hope and fantasise about Adam proposing her on their one year anniversary. Unknown to her, Adam is facing problems of his own. We know that his parents had one of the worst marriages/divorce ever but we are not told how severe it was and how much that impacted on Adam. We do know that is makes him afraid, especially when his boss also is having problems with his own wife and had a confrontation scene in the office. Yikes, now that would be a weird thing to see in front of everyone.
I really loved Suzann and Adam, they were both caring, considerate and romantic towards one another but Adam fails to push through and take a leap of faith. For all the romantic lovers out there (that would be me too), he does eventually say it in the end *phew* but I now I want to know MORE!!!!!!

Getting to Yes was a super short read, but one I enjoyed. Even though we didn't get to know the characters that deeply, I still liked them and enjoyed seeing their "getting to yes" journey.
I felt for her when she thought he would propose on their anniversary, but instead he gave her a cross. She was afraid his fear of commitment (because his parents relationship wasn't great) would forever prevent him from taking that step. In the end, he finally realized that he didn't want to live without her and they got to their "yes".

I really enjoyed this quick Valentine shortie. Adam and Suzann have been dating for a year now and this must be the perfect time for Adam to pop the question right? Well he didn’t and then when the big day the most romantic most proposals made day arrives and the ring doesn’t. Well Suzann just can’t take it anymore.
She wants to be a wife and not just to anyone but to her great guy Adam. She has had such high hopes but now they are dashed to earth with no way of redemption in her eyes. Read and see what happens.
I wish we could give 1/2 star ratings because this should be a 4 1/2. I believe I had a few download on Amazon for this sweet book

Suzann reminds me of many young girls today - anxious to get that romantic proposal and marry the man of their dreams! I think a lot of those girls should read this story. When life throws you a curve ball and things don't go as you expect, you need to learn how to deal with it and rely on the Lord for guidance. Allie Pleiter does a good job in portraying that message.

This was a crazy emotional roller-coaster for only being about seventy pages long.
A novella, this story is the prequel to "My So-Called Love Life" (which has a post-quel, as well, apparently. Is that even a thing? A Post-quel?) Which is where I'm headed next.
In this story, Lindy's best friend Suzanne learns the lesson, 'If you love someone, sometimes you have to let go'. It's also kind of a 'let go, let God' lesson, wrapped in. With Barbies. And tiny wedding outfits. And knitting.
You must read this. No really.

This is my first fiction book I have read of this author, and even though it is more of a short story than a novella, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The main character was relatable and funny. It was a nice, quick read that improved my mood. I recommend it, especially for a quick plane ride, or laying out on the beach.

Wonderful Short Story
This is an engaging short story about a couple getting to where they want to commit to marriage. It is an excellent character study with a lot to say about living in God’s time. It made me want to read the rest of the series. I received this book at no cost and voluntarily chose to post my review.

So funny and a bit sad too. If you ever have been in a relationship (friendship or love) and not understand other half, you will enjoy this novella. It is the start of a series, so I am looking forward to reading the other stories.

A great series kick-off!
This book is so cute...life never turns out how we expect, but getting to the acceptance of that can be a challenge. Always entertaining...I love Allie's books!

I don't mind stories which have references to prayers and God but this was just too godly for me, references on every page,sometimes multiple times. It made me skim read excessively.

Suzann knows Adam is the one. Adam knows Suzann is the one. Suzann knows this coming Valentine's Day will be the perfect time for Adam to pop the question. And Adam knows...um, well. There may be some difficulty in Getting to Yes, a novelette by author Allie Pleiter.
I was pulled in immediately by the heroine's smart and humorous style. Her avid desire for a marriage proposal seems to teeter a bit into an obsession, but, of course, given the length and purpose of this tale, there isn't really time for Suzann to focus on other stuff, here. Besides, she's so decidedly funny, you can't help but to empathize with her.
Even for Christian Fiction, I thought the God-factor was spread on pretty thick. Not that I don't want to see God in a romance, but I wouldn't pick "Nearer, My God, to Thee" for wedding reception or honeymoon music, either. (And, no, that does not happen in the story!) Also, as Suzann narrates her tale in present tense, it seems that not all of her switches into past tense are intentional.
Still, this romantic little comedy makes a compelling case for love and commitment in a world where so many relationships go south. My e-reader wouldn't stand for such a thing, but if I could slap this book with a resounding high-five, I would.

Cute Love stiry
This was an entertaining Christian love story. It was a quick and funny read.
Suzann and Adam travel down the rocky road of relationships in this story. Each has an idea of what they want, but are not sure how to get there. Suzann knows she needs to trust God's timing but it gets hard. In the end, things are completely different than she imagined.
This sweet romance is appropriate for teens and above.

This was a short book to set up the next book in the series. Suzann had been seeing Adam for a year and just knew he would propose but when and how? She kept second guessing him. This read was light and easy to read. I am anxious to see where the next book takes me.

Great story of real life!
I expected this novella to end sooner than it did. I'm really glad it continued and reflected real life situations. Some romance novellas are just quick stories - guy meets girl, form couple, guy proposes, there's a wedding, the end - BUT not this one! Getting to Yes could be someone's life story! Highly recommend!

This was a quick read- a short novella about Suz and her passion to get married. She does come off a bit desperate at times and rather conplainy, but as I listened to her narrate her relationship issues, she really sounded like a typical woman. But she was constantly turning to God- I really appreciated that aspect because you NEVER see that in modern love stories.

A light read, and I mean, a VERY light read. Nothing really goes on in the story, just a woman that is a little whiny and all she cares about is getting married, to the point of making a spectacle of herself. Not that good, at least in my opinion.

This could have been a cute story about a woman who is dying to have her boyfriend propose. Instead it became her chanting please ask in her head and then praying to god that he finds his way and asks her. Not exactly what I would call the dream proposal.
