Fantastic collection of short stories. I absolutely loved them. It's such a change to read a collection rather than a full book. Loved Keith and John, The Butcher who finds his wife sleeping with the Security Guard. The Flies made me cringe. The Jan, Feb, March murderer and too many to mention. Brilliant. Thanks for an array of stories Andrew😃😃🔰
As a fan of British horror I’ve been a fan of Andrew for a while now From a doctors revenge to a serial killers house of nightmares this is one of the better collections Well narrated gory with some dark humour peppered in highly recommended I received a free review audiobook and voluntarily left this review
I'm nearly finished. 🤦🏻♀️If you like to cringe, get mad, laugh, be scared, can handle gore and fall in love/hate with the Characters then let me recommend EVERY TWISTED THOUGHT by Andrew Lennon. Andrew Lennon you certainly have some imagination!!
Don't think I've ever read (or listened to) any of Andrew Lennon's stuff before, so when I got a chance at a free audiobook with a large chunk of his work on it, I was happy to check him out - and glad I am of it.
The author writes horror in the vein of Clive Barker, throwing (mostly) everyday people into bizarre situations. As an anthology, not all stories are created equal, but they are consistently good throughout with a mix of short stories (some almost flash fiction) and longer borderline novellas. He has a good sense for horror, and you can garner his influences from famous authors mentioned throughout. The characters are well-written, and I could personally see people I know filling the roles with only a change in accent required.
The narrator is always a key to audiobooks, and the man in question does a great job, although he speaks a little fast at times. Another narrator reads one story, and it doesn't fit with the rest of the audiobook, but he's far from terrible.
My favourite story is the first, with the deadpan doctor delivering the chills. Read/listen and beware.
Wow! I find with a lot of short story collections, it's sort of hit-or-miss for me. You can usually go through the entire collection, and only find a couple of stories that you enjoyed. I can honestly not think of one story in this whole book, that I did not like! if there is anything negative for me to say about any of the stories in here, is that I wish they were much longer. One of the most difficult things about short stories, I find, is actually liking any of the characters that you may only be seen for a few pages. Andrew Lennon makes you easily get invested in his characters, in one way or another, with a seamless effort as you move on from one story to the next. I highly recommend this book
This Author messes with his characters in such a way that you are glad he is not your shrink. Can't wait to read more of his stories. Remember his name so you don't miss anything.
Where to start with this book? Every Twisted Thought is a mammoth collection of short stories and novellas, each with its own unique feel and punch. You get a lot of content for your money here, and will not be disappointed. Overall, five stars. Highly recommend!
