Amelia Stanbrook is the golden girl, competing on the international show jumping circuit with the world at her feet and handsome millionaire Antonio by her side. Or so everyone thinks.
Behind closed doors is a different story and Amelia dreams of escape, but that’s not easy with two horses in tow.
When she makes a break for it and bumps into Blake Hunter, he makes her an offer she can’t refuse—pretend to be his girlfriend for two weeks to get him out of a sticky situation, and he’ll write off the money Amelia owes him.
Two weeks. All she has to do is keep her head and she’s free to start a new life. But can she keep her heart as well?
Elise Noble is an English rose with a few thorns who loves chocolate, sleep, and well-defined abs. Not hers, unfortunately. She lives near London with a horse who eats all her money and three dogs who eat everything else.
Elise writes real, gutsy heroines and flawed but swoon-worthy heroes in stories that mix mystery and mayhem, humour and happily-ever-afters.
Read it. Unless you hate hot, sweet men, cars, and horses.
Horse power. This book could have turned out so cheesy in the hands of another author. Thankfully Elsie Noble has a great sense of timing. Few authors get the right rhythm to pull off suspense and drama, while still maintaining comedic timing. Elise will make you laugh like no other. If you are looking for a wholesome meet-cute, where the biggest issue is the two people figuring out what they want and getting over their fear of rejection, this is not the book for you. 24 Hours of Trouble is wonderful- sweet, hot, funny, and suspenseful. It will pull you in. You might not know where Elise is taking you. Don’t worry she brings it all together in 24 Hours of Trouble. If you’ve read the second Trouble book, you have met Blake. In 24 Hours of Trouble, Elise let’s you in on his story. You’ll adore him. But it’s not just history. It’s the story of Amelia, a young woman with tons of baggage - literally. Her horse will steal your heart along the way even if you aren’t a horsy person. Elise starts the story in a place in Amelia’s life that, well, sucks. Amelia’s relationship is a nightmare she is trapped in with no idea how to get out without collateral damage. She is at a distinct disadvantage on the power security scale. One night, Amelia takes things into her own hands causing ripples you won’t see until the end, when Elise pulls it all together. Blake is seriously caring and it is hot. Amelia is no damsel in distress, though. In 24 Hours of Trouble she finds her strength outside the arena. There is discussion of abuse and domestic violence, of getting out and finding safety, of fear. This is the story of a woman finding her way out of that and making a new life. This is a rather good standalone romantic comedy drama-filled novel. You should read it.
I usually avoid books involving horses as I find them embarrassingly in accurate and unable to capture the grit and real life challenges of the equestrian world. But after enjoying all Elise’s other books I gave the troubled series a go and they didn’t disappoint. I loved how the lengths horsey people will go to was written and the passion for the animals and sport comes across but not in a childish “I love ponies” way.
What a fantastic end to this series. I wasn't sure how Elise would portray Blake, but he was wonderful. Poor Amelia was in such a rough position that it would take a lot of kindness and compassion to get her through to the other side.another book very well written!
Didn’t know where this one was going but WOW!! Definitely not where I expected. Guess that describes life, we start out going one way and end up somewhere else!! Enjoy!!
Although this is book three in the 'Trouble' series it is also a stand alone novel. The start of this book is quite unsettling and may be difficult for some people to read but it is a necessary introduction to Amelia. If you like an original, fast paced story, horses and fast cars then this is truly the book for you. If you want a true love story this is the book for you. If you just want something different, this is the book for you. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.
OMG! Race Cars & Horses! A High Jumping, Face Paced Novel!
Amelia is stuck in an abusive, loveless relationship because of her love for her show jumping horses that Antonio controls and threatens to kill if she tries to leave him. Amazingly, Amelia does escape with her beloved horses in tow and runs into Blake, a race car driver. She continues to hide from Antonio with Blake & his effervescent sister's help. Lots of emotional ups and downs as she begins to trust Blake & Lexi. A plethora of twists and turns as Amelia continues to hide from Antonio who has taken to the media to help find his "distraught" girlfriend.
Another grand-slam home run by Elise Noble! Elise's love and knowledge of horses and race cars is evident throughout the entire book. Her character development is superb! The romance is sweet and the sex scenes are hot! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book and I love, love, love it!!! I'm 2 hours past my bedtime because I couldn't put it down! I'd give it 10 Stars if I could!
This was an amazing addition to the Trouble series!!! I really loved the new characters and the plot. Learning about horses and car racing was also really fun. Over all, I loved the book and would recommend it to all who enjoy reading thrillers and love stories.
Now this was a fun , great , enjoyable read , loved it the best of this series so far , probably because I like Motorsports and Elise did very well with the race cars as she knows her stuff !! Well worth the read !!
