At first, it was kind of confusing for me to understand, probably because I didn't read the first book in the series and that I didn't really know how Mac's system for helping others people worked.

Nikolai is a scientist who doesn't like being in contact with patients because it makes him remember about his past and about what happened to his sister. However, when Mac assigned him to help a woman in a coma who doesn't want to wake up from her foggy mind, he isn't happy about it at first but do it anyway. He'll use some unusual ways for waking her up like talking to her like he is her lover with his seductive voice or even touching her (don't get me wrong, they're not getting naked while she's unconscious...it would be really really really creepy and illegal too).

Karen, has been hit by a car, and she lost some of her memory because of it. People thinks that she tried to end up her life but we'll found out that she didn't. The book has mystery but also romance. It wasn't a fun book but I liked the final scene between the two characters. I wish we had more of them as a happy couple. :)

I liked this book but I wouldn't refers it as a "must read".

I found this story to be like a pay it forward, someone that believed that sinned and now they have the chance to change someone life, maybe find love.

This is the first Mac’s Angels read and totally fell in love with the storyline. The plot was fascinating and captivating. Ms. Chastain creates a story about a Gypsy that has lost sight of life but one woman will change everything for him, someone that has the same name as his sister.

Karen Miller is a young woman that is in coma and doesn’t want to leave, she wants to stay in her fantasy, wants to stay in her safe haven. Something dramatic happened to her and the fear she is feeling disappears when she stays with her “Gypsy Lover.” Only someone is breaking her wall and this voice, his touch is making her feel and she doesn’t want to feel. It’s not only that but he says that they are lovers and he can’t wait to make love to her again, but she can’t remember him can he be true her Gypsy Lover be for real and she is in this fantasy.

Dr. Nikolai Sandor has lived a really rough life; the roughest part was when his sister passed away in his arms. Now he is doing research but not only that he has removed himself from life. He is known for his smooth talking, money making ways when it comes to fundraising but that is it. Then he receives the call from Mac it’s time for him to make a difference in someone’s life, he can bring her back to reality.

Nikolai knows that there is nothing impending Karen to be awake but what is keeping her in coma. Only when he starts talking to her touches her and talks to her about desire something happens, her heartbeat accelerates. Karen wants for him to stop talking to her, there is something about him but the more he talks and touches her her wall is breaking. With the use of desire Nikolai is able to pull Karen out of coma but not only that he helps her escape from the hospital.

Someone is looking for Karen but why that is why Nikolai seeks help from not only Mac but also from a newspaper reporter that he knows. After he finds out information on Karen the next thing is to take her to Slade Island and try to talk to her and have her remember the reason why she walked into the path of a car, or did she. Karen is starting to regain her memory pieces at a time but she is not ready for her full memory. Nikolai can’t keep his hands off her anymore; he needs to kiss her, needs to hold her, make love to her and the moment that happens his heart is lost to Karen.

Ms. Chastain creates a story that contains fear, passion and love. I fell in love with these two characters and how their relationship evolved from a fantasy storytelling into a real relationship. Now there were some twists and turns at the very end that I could not believe, it left me speechless. The writing style is beautiful and pace of the story was great, once I started I didn’t want to put it down.

All together Ms. Chastain provided me with an excellent read and I totally recommend it to any reader.

In Sinner and Saint, the second book Sandra Chastain's from Mac's Angels Series (that I have read), we find Mac still trying to help others.. and calling in old favors to do so. Each person he has helped in the past has promised a future favor and Mac uses these people to help more.

While I really enjoyed the first Mac's Angels book I read and Reviewed, Midnight Fantasy, I found Sinner and Saint a little less entertaining. Midnight Fantasy was fun, silly, a bit off kilter and yet still offered both participants a last chance.. Sinner and Saint is a bit darker, a bit more intense and therefore looses the fun factor. Which to me is what set Midnight Fantasy apart from the pack.

Dr. Nikolai Sandor has totally and completely withdrawn from the social world. He spends all of his time wrapped up in his research lab. The only time he bothers to leave is when he is called to a fundraising event, where he manages a smooth and suave facade. With the death of his sister Nikolai lost his way and has never really found a way back. Turning his back on his gypsy heritage he really doesn't have any sort of a life. And yet when Mac calls he knows he has a favor to return..

Karen Miller is lost in the fantasy.. after being hit by a car and brought to emergency she has slipped into a coma and shows no signs of returning to the world. She is safe in her fantasy world where she is living a romance novel. When a voice from outside starts to incorporate into her shadow world she is slowly pulled back to reality.

Nikolai uses a rather unique way of capturing Karen's attention, somehow he becomes the dream, the fantasy and with a weave of seduction pulls her from the depths.. Unfortunately that is not the end of Karen's problems.. Seems she might not have been trying to kill herself when she fell in front of that car. In Karen's new awakened state nothing is as it seems and she can't seem to remember just how it should be. Having no one but Nikolai to lean on she finds him to be a tower of strength that slowly helps her to leave the shadows and regain her life.

Nikolai can't help himself, he too is seduced by the fantasy and wants nothing more than to somehow make it real. It doesn't matter that their relationship started as a means to help her medically, now it's the two of them against the great what if.. Karen manages to reach into Nikolai's very soul and force him to relive some horrors of his youth. The very horrors that made him turn away from the gypsy life and in trying to heal her, heals himself.

This isn't a "fun" book but Ms Chastain tells a story of love and redemption.. vengeance and justice.. and finally finding yourself.

In Mac’s Angels: Sinner and Saint by Sandra Chastain, Dr. Nikolai Sandor is now dedicated to research only. But after answering a call about a woman that attempted to take her own life and is now in a coma he is now on a mission to wake her up.

Karen Miller has the face of an angel, but she reminds Niko of demons of his past that he wants to make sure they stay forgotten. But Karen will not wake easily, and Niko believes that she can hear him but for some reason she refuses to wake up. Read More...

Hmmmm....Sorry. I didn't fall in love with it exactly.. I have not previously read any of her works and I am extremely picky about what the books I read. The story line piqued my interest at the time: A yummy doctor saving patient in coma with his seductive self. It was kind of a disappointment only because I was expecting Niko to irresistibly sexy. The character's were detailed enough but the story fell flat when it came to capturing my absolute interest.

This book caught me by surprise. I guess I have read a lot of paranormal-fantasy books as I thought this might be an angel story. Not quite. Then after Niko gets Karen to wake up I assumed they would have happy times. Again, not quite. I sure wasn't prepared for this story's ending. I don't do spoilers so you will just have to get this book and read it. This one will go on my list of books to read over and over. Good job Sandra!

This is another case of not a bad book but not great either…it was just not my cuppa tea, mostly because I could not suspend my belief enough to believe that Karen could be up and running right after coming out of a coma….I liked the idea of the story but it just did not hold up for me.

I really wanted to like this story. I love the premise, the idea, but it just didn't hold up for me.

I found myself skimming parts of the story because it just moved so slow for me. The ending had some action in it and that was nice.

I wasn't really engaged with the story. I felt like a spectator rather than part of the story.

Great idea. Great premise.

This book was just ok for me. It's the 2nd book in this series and I haven't read any of the other books in it. Regardless, this whole book just fell flat for me. The 2 main characters Niko & Karen were so one dimensional and had zero substance. The plot line was just ok, although there was potential there. Maybe if I read the 1st book in the series I would've liked this book more.
