This book is an introductory crash course to Cryptography and Cryptanalysis. It is presented using a ground-up approach to learning so that readers of all knowledge levels can understand the content. It provides a brief history of Cryptography, and attempts to explain what Cryptography is and why it is so important to everyone today. In this Complete Edition, discussions begin in Chapter 1 with a brief introduction to cryptography, terminology and applications of mathematics. Chapter 2 discusses Classical Ciphers. Several Cryptanalysis code-breaking tips are provided within chapter 3. Further discussions in Chapters 4 and 5 include Cryptography encountered within our daily lives, and Applications of Cryptography. The focus is on the average persons need to ensure their information is secure and Investigative Applications. In discussing investigative applications, short stories are provided to highlight the fields of Law Enforcement, National Security as well as Archaeology. In 5.1 readers have the opportunity to practice their newfound Cryptography skill set and will continue to apply them within short stories in 5.2. Within chapters, 6 and 7 discussions touch on Mechanical Ciphers and Modern Computerized Ciphers. This book ends with a candid discussion on the Future of Cryptography focusing on evolving legal issues. These include arguments from Privacy and National Security Advocates; current international legislative trends; US Court Decisions and a few Author Insights.

About the author

As a professor, musician, scientist and philosopher George is a man of many talents. He plays multiple instruments and sings in multiple genres and languages. Some genres include Soul, Motown, Jazz, Blues, Gospel, R&B, Celtic, Latin, Modern Country and Classical Music. Practiced at blending elements from each genre has given his singing voice a unique sound. He has performed live within bands, groups, choirs/oratorios and as a soloist performing a cappella. As a professor, he has over a decade of teaching experience and has taught coursework in computer science, cybersecurity, criminal justice, healthcare information security and HIPAA law. Specializing in security matters, he gained professional recognition in the fields of cybersecurity, digital forensics and OSINT. Lastly, as a scientist and philosopher he sees the world as it really is while striving to use judicious caution choosing the vantage point of an optimist with hope and faith.

his book was not quite what I was expecting. Having had an introduction to
Cryptography in college I did remember quite a bit of what I had learned(
or least tried to learn). Cryptography: An Introductory Crash Course on the
Science and Art of Coding and Decoding of Messages, Ciphers, Cryptograms
and Encryption provide a nice easy to understand introduction to cryptography.
If the reader is looking to expand on their knowledge, an other book would be
a better selection.

Perfect.

This book was exactly what I was looking for. A straight forward text that took you through all the basics of cryptography. The author did a great job of making the content relatable. I hope there are more books from the author in the future.
