Spoilers ahead:

It would have been a great series if the author had not ruined everything in the penultimate chapter:

“Isaac,” she (OW) murmured as she rushed toward me and threw her arms around my neck.
When her familiar wild strawberry scent engulfed my nostrils, it was like the last six years had never happened. I was once again a college boy enjoying the thrill of the chase. Ophelia was the first girl to refuse my advances. It took me months of wooing before she agreed to go out with me. I pulled her away from me and stared at her. My mind was spiraling, unable to grasp reality. I had wanted Ophelia to be alive for years, so when she stood in front of me, as beautiful as the day I first laid my eyes on her, I was baffled and speechless."...

“Then why aren’t you together now?” I asked, staring into her eyes.
Her gaze drifted down to my chest. “Because he wanted more than half a heart.”
Her glossed-over eyes lifted back to mine. “He knew part of my heart still belonged to you.”
She lifted her hand and ran it down my face. Her eyes darted between mine, appearing just as surprised as I was that we were standing across from each other, cuddled together. She was so close, her tea-scented breath was fanning my lips.
“It still belongs to you,” she whispered.
Her eyes gleamed before she stood on her tippy toes and sealed her lips over mine. Her warm tongue stroked along my lips before it plunged into my mouth. She guided the pace of our kiss with small strokes and gentle nips. My hand slithered up her back, pulling her closer before I weaved my spare hand through her hair and tugged her silky locks back to deepen our kiss. My mouth trapped the soft purrs that rumbled up her throat. I gripped her thighs, guiding her legs around my waist.
With keeping my lips on hers, I paced toward the wooden table and laid her down onto the tabletop. I took a step backward, startled when her light brown eyes peered up at me. Her breasts were thrusting up and down as her breathing became excited, and the golden highlights in her hair glistened in the morning sun streaming through the window.
My brows furrowed before I took another step backward, closely followed by another, and then another, and then another."

Too late for that honey . The feeling of ending a series with the doubt about the long-awaited HEA is horrible. This is H's dialogue with his ex (who he thought was dead). At this point she says that the child she has is not his. But the question that persists after reading this scene is: Would he have gone away if his son had been his? No, I don't think so. To me that was cheating. And it sure broke all expectations of a wonderful ending I had for this series. That's why I like spoilers! I certainly wouldn't have wasted my time on this crap.

I really enjoyed this series, but there was one thing that happened in this book near the end that prevented me from giving the book 4 stars.

There were also some questions I feel like didn't get answered unless I missed something...maybe they'll get answered in the books for the other characters? For example

Aside from that, there are some editing errors where the writing feels stilted, a weird word is used, or a word is omitted all together. That's been consistent throughout the series and mostly wasn't taking me out of the story, with a few exceptions. I did really enjoy the story though, and will definitely be the reading books about the other characters! I'm really excited for Harlow and Cormack's relationship!

spoilers- don’t bother

she wakes up in a hospital bed and immediately he says “If you drop that lip again, I’ll bite it.”. like dude read the damn room cmon

AND THEM HE CHEATED ON HER WITH HIS EX AND SHE FUCKS HIM AFTER A CHAPTER. WHAT KIND OF AN ENDING IS THAT??? her getting kissed by a friend after she got walked out on by isaac does not at all equate to him kissing an ex he’s still into and admitting he’s still got feelings.

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK WAS THAT ENDING.
i hate to think i wasted my time on 4 books just for it to finish like that????

it’s fiction that’s meant to appeal to the female reader so why make the male a cheater?? i just don’t understand the logic and i feel like i’ve been cheated out of a good story

The FMC is the worst one i have ever read. Not only does she not have a single backbone she is the most cringy in this series by far.Not that the MMC is far behind her with his need to exude his manly alpha need to posses her.
He cheats on her and then for the first time tells her he loves her although they already live together and he asked her to marry him.And after this declaration what does she do? oh her inner vixen stomps her feet and her princess parts tingle
The look on my face while reading this ICKY book was unparalleled even by all the icy glares the MMC casts all the time.
This book was like a car crash no matter how bad i couldn’t look away because i needed to know how much worse it could get.
BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY HOW CAN HE SMELL HER AROUSAL WHEN SHES FULLY CLOTHED ????? DOES SHE HAVE A BAD CASE OF YEAST INFECTION AND HE CANT TELL THE DIFFERENCE?????

Enigma: The Final Chapter
Isaac's Story Book 4
By Shandi Boyes
☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
Not a stand alone. This is Isaacs final story, but the is more to come for the other characters in this series.

Isaac Very successful in his life, his business and friends. But also has a bad boy image. He never kept the ladies around. Never brought them to his home. Only to his apartment, in his many buildings around town. Until he met Isabelle, then life as he knew it was no longer. He would give everything he owned to have her.

Isabelle, sold by her father. Raised by who she knew as her uncle..He himself a FBI agent. Her dream to follow in her uncle's footsteps, has become a reality. Now she is fighting the fight of her life. Dirty cops, dirty agents, love and murder is what she has to work through. Not everything is black and white, sometimes there is grays.

Shandi Boyes really did a great job with her story line. So much going on and yet you're surprised at how strong her characters are. She takes you into her world and keeps you there. This story was hard to put down. In fact I was up all night trying to get Isaac and Isabelle in a safe place so I could sleep. I so enjoy this series. Can't wait to she where her next book takes us. Not for those under 18 due to language, violence and sexual content.

The whole series was a decent read, it wasn't mind blowing but I was intrigued by it.
Like I said before it gives me Crossfire series vibes.
There were some parts made me cringe and some parts made me on the edge of my seat.

I hated for this story to end. If you love something so much let it go. If it comes back it is true love. There was a time that I was so pissed at Issac, but in the end it worked out. SPOILER ALERT!!!! Hugo and Izzy get a little to close for comfort if you're pulling for team Issac. Now on to book 5 Hugo's story and past revealed.

I have complained in every novel of this series about the fact that development is sidelined for sex and this one was way worse. So much of Isabelle and Isaac's past was revealed and we instead spent the majority of the time watching them have semi-BDSM sex. Which after awhile, I just started skipping over these scenes.

I've always said it and I maintain this position. This isn't a bad series. The potential is plenty but I just can't stand the bawling for everything and sex for every solution. With how often she bawls, I would stop reacting to her tears by now and everything cannot be solved with an orgasm. Let's talk about Isabelle's opportunistic father who would NEVER leave the perfection that is Isabelle to just be rich and living freely and Isaac's borderline stalker behaviour and people coming back from the dead. Also, where the hell is Megan and Theresa??

I feel as though we were left with more questions than answers and everything did not fit. It was still a jumbled mess of questions that had more than enough opportunity to be properly solved.

My feelings of this novel are evident by the fact that it took me longer than others in the series, to complete. I was just over it.

I am unsure if it is that we need to read the wedding book to get a true conclusion but I have invested enough of my time in a series that is clearly going no further than a bedroom.

I hated the part when Isaac went back to Ophelia knowing that he left Isabelle heartbroken. And then went on kissing her maybe even make-out with her legs wrapped around him. If he hadn’t stopped and realised what he did, maybe they would’ve fucked. Also the fact that ophelia said she still loves him and part of her heart belongs to him is just bullshit because she didn’t try to go and find him, see what he’s up to in secret or anything about him. She only went on to say that because Issac went to see her while he lived with a guilt of killing her.

Enigma: The Final Chapter by Shandi Boyes is a five star novel. This is the fourth novel in Isaac’s story but is also part of the larger Perception series. Although it is unnecessary to read all of the Perception series to understand what is going on, it is necessary to read all of Isaac’s story. A lot has happened over the course of these novels with Isabelle and Isaac. Isabelle is now about to go to trial for her offense in the third novel. Even though her and Isaac’s relationship is a bit rocky at the moment, he still makes sure she is taken care of. He has put Hugo on her as security detail because he is afraid of the vengeance Col might have out for him. When Hugo steps away for just a moment, Isabelle does indeed get taken. Hugo follows the SUV on foot and catches up to it and thrusts himself into the front window. As he is reaching for Isabelle, a loud pop is heard and Hugo flies out the window and into the street. Brandon finds him and gets him the help he needs while also informing Isaac of the situation. Isaac is beyond worried and decides he needs to pull out all the stops in order to make sure Isabelle is returned to him, safe and sound. This will require him to go to his arch rival, the FBI, in order to make sure Isabelle is safe. They will help to protect one of their own, no matter what. After calling a truce with Alex, Isaac tells him everything he knows and they quickly go on their way to find her.

A nice ending.

Although a little rushed.
The whole story was addictive. It was well written, full of steam and suspense, and the secondary characters added outstanding balance to the series.

The whole plot was intriguing and it was hard to put the book down. I wanted to drown in the pages and never come back.

As I said, the ending seemed rushed and I wanted deeper answers to some issues. But Isabelle and Isaac deserved the story they had.
I can't wait to see them again and I'm even more excited about the other characters - they were captivating.

3.5-3.75

I was HIGHLY annoyed by Izzy continuing to refer to her “inner vixen” (or whatever the exact phrase was). Irked me every time she said it.

The ending is the only thing that “redeemed” it. I feel like it was an obvious ending based on side events in the previous books, but it was enough for me.

So Disappointed! I hate to shit on anyone’s books but there was so many things missing. It was so rushed by the end whereas the start was fairly slow. The first 3 books were good. But this has just shit on the series. There’s so much left unanswered. Regret wasting my time with this tbh

Enigma: The Final Chapter - Isaac's Story - book 4 (Enigma #4)
by Shandi Boyes

5 STAR REVIEW

I’ve been following this series for a while now and as I’ve stated before, every book is just as good as the last. I’m sad that Isaac and Isabelle’s story is over but I am looking forward to the future stories of the other “key” characters like Ryan, Hugo, Brandon and Regan.

I have truly enjoyed reading the series from the very first book until this last book. There were several times throughout the book I honestly thought I had the main events figured out but Author Shandy Boyes would send me on another roller coaster ride. The Author’s writing is amazing and her storyline (like the previous three books) was not difficult to follow or impossible to understand.

Please be aware that this is NOT a standalone and in order for you to have the best experience reading Isaac and Isabelle’s story, the books have to be read in chronological order; Book #1 Enigma of Life, Book #2 Unraveling an Enigma, Book #3 The Mystery Unmasked and Book #4 Enigma: The Final Chapter.

In this final chapter the love story of Isaac and Isabelle comes to face their greatest challenge. Will their love withstand the lies and, threats from their enemies? But more importantly, will their love withstand the secrets that remain in place? Nothing is black and white, a lot of gray remains in this story.

In this The Final Chapter, Isaac has decided to take it one step further because his enemies have taken his Queen. His enemies have broken the conveyed rules of their industry. Which now means their games of chess has been altered and the rules no longer exist. Now only two Kings remain standing and they are ready to battle head on.

Isabelle loves Isaac in a way that is completely unexplainable, and to some, it appears to be nothing but an attraction to his strikingly handsome features and his impressive bank balance. But it isn’t, she loves him for the way he protects her and keeps her safe. But in order to prove that her intuition was right, Isabelle most face some of her greatest fears.

I highly recommend you read this series, you will not be disappointed!

Enigma: The Final Chapter - Isaac's Story - Book 4
by Boyes, Shandi
5 stars

I'm so sad that this is the end of Isaac’s story. I wish it could go on and on...I was happy to find out other main characters will have their story told and hope that Isaac resurfaces in those from time to time (wink wink Shandi)!

This Final Chapter really covers a lot of ground. There are so many new developments that finally put the missing pieces of Isaac’s puzzle together. Secrets don't stay secret. They eventually resurface. I went through so many emotions reading this book...nervousness, uncertainty, heartache, frustration, joy, resentful, hope, want, anger and understanding.

Throughout this book you will be challenged many times to think if you were in that situation what would you do? “Not everything is black and white.”

““If you knew something that was going to hurt your friend, but you knew they would never forgive you if you didn’t tell them, would you tell them?” he queries, his voice scratchy and crammed with emotion. I swallow, intuitively conscious that his statement is about me. It isn’t just the fact that I can hear his heart hammering against his ribs, it is his glistening eyes staring at me with sorrow. “Yes,” I whisper faintly. “I would want to know.””

Can Isabelle and Isaac build a lasting relationship that was founded on lies and secrets? Once the secrets are aired will they be strong enough to get past the hurt, betrayal and loss of trust?

“Only hours before, Isabelle said that she didn’t know if she could forgive me for my betrayal. But I saw sparks of the old Isabelle emerging before my eyes when I assisted her off the ground after her tumble. She had that same wild, frenzied look in her eyes she had the morning she crashed into me at the airport. A look that promised she would not only be my greatest possession, but also my hardest battle. But I am up for the challenge. I’ve been fighting my entire life. It is who I am, and it is what I do, and I’ll fight every day until Isabelle is once again mine. My bed. My house. My rules. MINE.”

Enigma: The Final Chapter by Shandi Boyes is the final book in Isaac’s Story, which picks up where book 3 ends. While Isaac is making arrangements for Isabelle to leave Ravenshoe and begin a new life with a new identity, Isabelle has been kidnapped under orders from mob boss Col Petretti as punishment for Isaac’s relationship with Col’s daughter, Ophelia, and her imminent death. What Isaac and Col fail to know is that Isabelle has been kidnapped by someone who does not wish her dead but is looking for answers that only Col can give. And give answers he does!
Isaac rushes to the place Isabelle is being held, with the help of Alex, Izzy’s superior in the FBI and Ryan, Ravenshoe police detective they are going to rescue Izzy. When they get there, there is a showdown between Col, Isaac and the kidnapper leaving Izzy injured Col dead and the kidnapper in the hospital. After a brief hospital stay, Izzy is released at which time she has her final court appearance for the murder of Megan Shroud. Due to lack of probable cause Izzy’s trial is over and her case dismissed.
All the bad stuff is over now, right? Nope, not even a little!
Isabelle slowly learns more of Isaac’s past including what happened the night Ophelia died and how her death shaped the remainder of Isaac’s life. I have to say that at this point and what Isaac did because of Ophelia’s death I would not have blamed Izzy for leaving him. Then of course there’s Theresa Venuto, who continues to try to mess with Isaac’s personal life.
Of course the biggest surprise comes when a friend of Izzy’s gives her some information that breaks Isabelle’s heart and leaves her searching for the truth hidden in her own past.
Ms. Boyes does an outstanding job bringing Isaac and Isabelle’s story to a believable end, and I truly look forward to hearing more about the secondary characters from Isaac’s story especially Hugo!! I will definitely recommend these books as well as the rest of the Perception series to all my fellow readers.

I am totally flabbergasted at this book about Isaac. I have been reading this series since the beginning and when Isaac started having his own stories I became infatuated with them. Isaac’s story drew me in and kept me captivated until the very end. This book was phenomenal and normally I read a book in a day easily but this time I actually took my time because I did not want it to end. I took two days and that was all I could hand because my kindle was calling me to pick it up and keep reading and it took all the strength I had not to. Isaac is so domineering and just the perfect book boyfriend.
Isaac started out fighting when he was in college and the money he made doing the fights helped him build his empire. Isaac goes after what he wants and doesn’t let anyone or anything stand in his way. He has a devoted staff and he pays them well do respect what he asks of them. People tend to get the idea that he earned his way illegally and the FBI is trying to prove that but he is not like that. He is honest and ambitious and has worked hard for what he has. I have craved more of his story because the bond that he and Isabelle share is like no other. They are good together and they need each other to be complete.
Isabelle went through some pretty crazy experiences in this book but she is strong and she can hold her own. She has the support of friends and Isaac to get her through anything.
We saw some different sides of characters in this book I have grown to love Hugo even more. He is funny and I loved to see what he was up to next. The relationship that he and Isabelle had was just great. He was caring and a great friend for her in her times of need. I am sad that Isaac’s story has come to an end but I am so look forwarding to Hugo’s story and I am sure we will be hearing from some of the others as well. Fantastic book and series. I know now that if a book has Shandi Boyes as the author you might as well add it to your list of books to read or just buy the book because you won’t regret it. Thanks again Shandi for a terrific book.

Enigma: The Final Chapter – Isaac's Story Book 4 is by Shandi Boyes, this story is the fourth and final story in the Enigma series. This story is the final chapter of Isabelle and Isaac's story. This series has been awesome to read and you will want to see what how it ends for Isabelle and Isaac. This story is action, suspense and hot passion. Find out what is in store for these two!!

Isaac Holt always protect what is his and she is his. When she is kidnapped what will he do? How far is he willing to go to get her back? There have been many struggles throughout their relationship and they still are together. Will that change in this story? Are they strong enough to come out on top?

Isabelle Brahn loves him but is she willing to let him control her? How far will she let the control go? Is she willing to give up everything for him? What secrets will she uncover? Will she find out what the enigma is? Will their love stand the test of time?

There is no other words for Isabelle and Isaac's story but hot passion. Their relationship is put to the test continuously, will they best the test of life? What will their future hold for them? Love and forgiveness has been a large part of their relationship, is it enough? Will they ever find their happly ever after?

This is the fourth story that I have read by Shandi Boyes. Shandi lives in Queensland, Australia with her husband and their children. She has been an avid reader but recently she has found her love of writing. This final chapter is a page turner to the last page. It will pull you into their world of suspense and passion. It will leave you wanting more and to find out what will happen next. You will be sitting on the edge of your seat just to see what happens around the next page. I highly suggest you read this story as I know you will love it as much as I have.

OMG!! Enigma- The Final Chapter is finally here and seriously Shandi Boyes give us a conclusion worthy of this series. I had been waiting on to read this book for what felt like forever and I am stoked that I finally finished it.
This book picks up where the fourth book leaves off and Isaac in a race against time trying to find Isabelle and bring her home where she belongs. Even though he is able to find her and do exactly that but things do not go as smoothly as he thinks they will. After weeks of blissful happiness, Isabelle is told information about more secrets that Isaac is hiding from her. Isabelle must once again hold things back from Isaac until she can uncover the truth herself. . Only this time these secrets could destroy them forever or make them stronger than anything they have faced in the past.
Okay I know that was very brief and very vague but you really have to read this book to experience it all yourself; just make sure you read the whole series because this is not a stand-alone. There are so many things that happen in this book that and I don’t want to ruin it for anyone. The ending had me very worried though, when that final plot twist came out my heart started breaking for them. However this entire series was emotional for me as I was rooting for them from the moment they met in the airport in book one and I couldn’t be happier with how it ended. This is a series that I will read again and again (believe me Isaac himself makes it worth it ☺) so do yourself a favor and get started right now!

Enigma: The Final Chapter by Shandi Boyes is the final book of Isaac’s story and the ninth book of the Perception Series, this book cannot be read as a standalone. Enigma: The Final Chapter is the continuation of the tumultuous relationship between Isabelle and Isaac. This book starts where book three left off.
Isabelle is still in the helm of her pending murder charge, which she has been framed for. The separation between her and Isaac has put a burden in their relationship and certain people continue to bring doubt to Isabelle of who Isaac really is. Isabelle is suddenly kidnapped and has Isaac scurrying to find her and her kidnapper. Is the kidnapper someone from Isaac’s past seeking retribution? Will all of Isaac’s secret be revealed? Will the love between Isaac and Isabelle withstand all the obstacles that have been put between them?
Shandi did a wonderful job with this series, it is by far my favorite of the Perception series. Hot, sexy romance mixed with a little murder mystery and deception, all at once. I wish I could have more of Isabelle and Isaac but the story has to end at some point. I am going to miss reading about these two but ready to read the story about Hugo and Hunter. I really recommend this series to anyone that enjoys an Alpha Male Hero and a bit of investigative mystery within the story. Is it finally a “Happily Ever After?” You will have to read to find out.
