A Dismantled World... When a mutated virus escapes the university laboratory vault that it's been locked away in for more than 75 years, it initiates chaos unforeseen. In vain attempt to staunch the virus' spread, nuclear warheads are launched against the U.S., killing millions. The strike creates a thick corridor of radiation along the west coat and throws metric tons of ash into the atmosphere, and an already plague-ridden world is plunged into darkness. Sisters Evie and Julie Elderwood are living in a mid-apocalyptic world - if living it what you could call it. Fleeing home after watching everything fall apart and stretching toward rumors of a thriving sanctuary, they discover what it means to prop themselves up for the first time in their lives. Those infected with the virus are far from the only danger in a civilization turned wilderness.

Such a good book!

I have been reading a lot of post apocalyptic fiction lately and this is one of the best ones. I really enjoyed the characters and the story. I also liked that this was a stand alone book and it had a hopeful ending unlike others I've read. Good reading, kept me very involved.

A charming book with engaging characters and just enough tension to keep the reader interested. I enjoyed the focus on replenishing supplies and choosing shelters. It's a very consistent and enjoyable narrative.

Exhilarating, inventive, thrilling

I found this book very exhilarating, sleep depriving, just couldn't put it down so many interesting plot twist and turns rooting for people and wanting them all to survive

Wonderful book!

A viral apocalypse that kills and turns people into ravenous " infected", plenty of action, a rag tag small group of people that become surrogate family and romance..who could ask for more? Throw in plenty of hope for the future and you've got an awesome book! Highly recommend!!
